Still the best independent car reviewer on the internet. Excellent factual information with a non bias perspective

11:15 Neither the Jazz nor the Yaris have "belt-driven CVTs." The Yaris uses what Toyota calls an eCVT, which is essentially a fixed ratio planetary gearbox. The Jazz doesn't have a gearbox at all and is driven by electric motors at all speeds other than highway cruising.

Excited to receive mine soon! Went for this over the Yaris after driving them both, also the styling is top notch in the Renault with the Yaris just feeling a little bit.. cheap? Bit disappointed that you don’t the same bik benefits with a full hybrid, think this is very much the way forward and the government have got it wrong pushing EV’s to everyone. I’ve had one for 3 years and found it incredibly frustrating and inconvenient.

Really good review. So much more detail about how the vehicle switches between drive systems.

Great detailed review as usual....Love the design of the Clio and I think it just stands out so much better than the Jazz and Aygo.

Great review but I'm afraid it was over-long and included repetitive sections. And I spent ages waiting for you to give some real world mpg figures

Fantastic review, subjective as ever. Alpine is so comfy for a big lard butt like mine. Ordered 2. A compromise as ever, found the Yaris good. But prefer Alpine . Looks & drives proper. Really responsive. I think residuals will be better than 43% personally. Thumbs up

Please check the edits on the interior section of this review as quite a few parts are repeated.

Does it make any sounds at low speed (electric) mode? If not, does it have pedestrian warning sounds like full EV cars have at low speed?

4:33 it would be nice if they could have got the trim to line up but hey! Think I will pass.

Peugeot 208s are very approximate when it comes to panel gaps and shut lines too.

Beware of any Renault cars. I bought a Clio E Tech 1,5 months ago in Poland and already twice have been broken. Torn cables were found and there were short circiuits. I was very lucky there was no fire and I’m still alive. The lowest quality production level that I’ve ever seen.

Old oversized engine without turbo (tax increase in various countries), no paddles to change gears and a top speed of only 112m/h make me cringe.

Metal chassis is honestly low quality when you knock on it unlike german cars
