Well this was an eye opener. When cdbaby sent out notice unless 1000 subscribers they would no longer be able to manage any monetization on youtube I thought they also said 4,000 Minutes per year was needed not hours. That’s a major goal to reach for a music Chanel as you said.

I'm wondering how it works in detail when you post a combination of covers and originals. Most of my covers are recognised by youtube and automatically marked (so that the royalties go to the songwriters etc.) but do I need to do anything for them to pay for my own original songs? I'm ofc signed up with the royalty collecting company in my country, but I just don't understand if I need to do something more than those things you mentioned in this video. Ofcourse! If your video gets an ad when someone plays it you'd get shmoneyyyy no matter what (unless it's demonitised due to some specific reason like copyright infringement)

Jukebox Moneypants I would whitelist those influencers one by one. Then monetize on Distro. And upload to my own channel. So you get free exposure, plus you are monetized.
What do you think of live streams? Best advice I’ve heard about RUclips. Now I have to figure out what type of content to put up. Remixes are my thing, so maybe that and live streaming studio sessions of that. Then I would cut down the studio session for a video. The only scary thing is to show that I do sh**ty sounds before I do great sounds haha

You can't unfortunately. You can try to get it tested again by RUclips incase they decide to monetise it again but if not, there's not much you can do!

Distrokid will monetize your songs, then you can use your own channel to promote your music and upload your music video. You can use both channels

RUclips don't pay out on a view when it's be ran as an ad. A view generated from an ad is treated completely different to an organic view.
