Second of all Antonio gates had 2 seasons in those 15 years of 1000+ receiving yards, Kelce has SEVEN consecutive seasons of 1000+ receiving yards. Kelce almost has the same amount of receiving yards as Antonio gates while playing like 5 less seasons. As a matter of fact, I’m not sure there is any other tight end in nfl history that has that many consecutive 1000+ yd seasons, I think gronk may have had 2-3, but not seven…that’s what I mean when I say Antonio gates wasn’t able to play at the same level as Kelce for as long and continuous as Kelce did. And that ain’t even counting sb appearances, sb championships…Kelce already has the same amount of pro bowls and more first team all pro selections than Antonio gates did while playing 5 less seasons. You can have the debate with gronk and Tony, but Antonio gates ain’t even in the same stratosphere as Kelce or the other two. Agreed, also a lot of hits/tackles that were allowed back then that TG and Shay would receive, would be illegal now. Like back then you could get destroyed running down the middle of the field for a pass. Now adays, it's a lot easier for TE's to get open and catch passes.

Regular season, there is a debate to be had, but post season, the games that again, matter most, Kelce's only competition is who? Jerry Rice, the best WR in the history of the NFL. Think about that for a minute. Now answer me this, which matters more, regular season stats/success, or post season stats/success? I think we all know it is the later. Gronk is probably the best blocking TE to ever play, dude is beast in that regard, but in terms of the best TE when it comes to receiving and making plays, Kelce is proving he is the top dog. • @kerke4639
    @kerke4639 Год назад

    Gronk’s number 1. Leading the league in reception TDs is ridiculous with a record number for any TE. The resume is there with the 4 rings too but what puts him over Travis without question is his blocking. You can argue over their job as pass catchers all day with Travis’ speed and ability to create space to Gronk’s physicality and his ability to make nothing into something by running people over. But tight ends also are responsible for blocking and Gronk was by far the greatest when it came to blocking. While Travis is decent he is definitely not elite as a blocker. There are multiple names you can put among current players that are better than Kelce at blocking with number 1 being Kittle. At no point in Gronk’s prime was there someone that was a better weapon or blocker which is the difference for me.

    Ppl in media have goldfish memories for the click bait. Gronk was getting triple team and putting up these numbers. Shannon Sharpe got 10k yds when TEs weren't even viewed as WRs. Gonzales literally was the iron man for TES. Antonio Gates was the only rival closest to Gonzales during his Era. He's in the convo for top 10 but he's not dethroning any of these guys yet. At best, he's on par with Gates.

    Travis Kelce is the second best Wide Receiver in Play Off history. That's where I will different from RC. A Tight End who doesn't block, is a Possession WR. Period.
    As TIGHT ENDS go, no I don't think he is better than Gronk, better than Kittle even, because they DO the entire package, and the primary job of a TE is TO BLOCK. Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, Jimmy Graham, Travis Kelce all are AMAZING possession receivers, but not one of them blocked/blocks worth a damn.
    You can't do only HALF the job description, and technically the lesser half of the actual job, and call them the best ever. You want to call them the best scoring TE? OK. But again, that is just a big, slow, Wide Receiver at that point.

    I think RC is jumping the gun just a little bit. I think when it’s all said and done Kelce will have three or four rings and will records like most yards by a TE all time I mean this dude is a stat machine and has bare min of 1k yards every year since I could remember and will have the most TD by a TE ever. After he gets one or two more bling and those two honors I think he’ll be the 🐐 of TE but as of rn I’ll say he’s four behind Gronk, Tony G, and sharpe in that order.
