@@btbarr16 no way thats correct kelce plays almost every game , gronk missed half the season twice and hasn’t played in the last two years . Kelce just broke those records and they were gronks old records
I’m hoping Travis can get a passing td from 40 out , which I know he is capable of.
I still say yes. All due respect to Gronk Kelce was triple teamed last night and still was UNGUARDABLE. I see Kelce 1A and Gronk 1B respectively.
kelce wasn’t even in the convo for best in the league until gronk fell off let alone best of all time.great player but not sure about that

Triple teamed? Derwin James gave him an outside shade on that last TD and no one was in the middle field. Looks too easy for them every time
@@phillyphan1346 yeah if Gronk stayed as healthy as Kelce his stats would be untouchable
Gronk needed 3 ppl to defend him at one point. As for blocking, it’s not even close.
Prime Gronk was more unguardable, and he was more versatile as the greatest blocking TE ever as well. Gronk still hands down
Nah tony g and kelce.they’re all top 3 in the convo though.can’t go wrong with either one including gronk
Gronk didn’t even study the playbook or know defenses. He did what Tom asked and played for a dynasty team. Definitely not the best ever.
@@zachbarnes2538 Lol you actually believed him when he said that.
Prime Gronk all day. Man will beat you catching passes and will block defenders into the ground in run game. Kelce ain’t doing that.
He kinda does tho
Dont need to when we pass more lol
Nobody cares. Kelce is
This
Just because you take your blocking assignment to the ground doesn’t make you a better blocker, there were many times in gronks career where he never disengaged and got to the second level. Kelce’s rac ability is second to none with any player in the league including wideouts.
He's 6000 yards behind Tony Gonzalez people need to pump the brakes. Game is played different not to mention he lines up at slot wr more often than any te I can remember.
Because it’s harder to borderline impossible to bracket or double someone lined up in the slot if he plays probably 4 to 5 more years that record is most likely coming down
I finally found civilization
Those yards are because of longevity, don’t get me wrong longevity is great but I wouldn’t exactly pick Emmitt Smith over LaDainian Tomlinson 🫠 .. it’s tough to have a debate on who the GOAT is because it depends on if we’re talking talent/skill or accomplishments/records
Tony also entered the league at a much younger age than Kelce.
@@milfslayer3202 ❤
He’s a great player but he’s not even the best TE that’s 33 years old. Gronk is number 1. Shannon Sharpe, Antonio Gates, Tony Gonzalez, and Travis Kelce are all in the same category. Hall of fame level talent but Gronk transcended the position. Gronk had 17 TDs in a season. He was one of the best blocking tight ends to ever play the game of football but he also just so happened to be the best receiving one as well. A true freak and his like will probably not be seen again for sometime. Kelce for sure ain’t it.
For the record I hate the Patriots and I’m not a fan of Tom Brady but respect where it’s due and Gronk deserves to be GOATED
Gronk was just as dominant in the passing game AND he was a great blocker
Absolutely. Not necessarily the receiver that Kelce is but an A player in both categories for sure.
While I agree with you, Gronk is a massive human being at 6'7. Tom could basically just throw it up to him. I think Kelce is a better receiver, route runner, and has a higher football IQ but Gronk was def a better blocker.
@@zachb2943 agreed on all points
@@zachb2943 Being a massive human being is not a negative in talking about the greatest
@@zachb2943 Not sure I agree with Kelce being a better receiver. Gronk had some of the best hands and catch radius of all time. Best of the best in terms of ball skills.
Travis is holding together far better than Gronk overtime. Longevity will likely put him above Gronk in all areas of stats if he’s not already. Prime though? Gronk I feel like may have been more dominant in his prime. None of this actually matters. Both are great and any team would be lucky to have either of them as a player.
I agree
Theyre the same age, which is funny to think about.

Prime gronk is still the best, but kelce is gonna beat him in longevity of elite production. Different types of players too tho
How about he tries to block like a TE is suppose to not just catch. Lol hes just a big ass receiver. I’ve never seen him get on the line and block. He will never be the GOAT because of that
Nope gronk is still the GOAT of TEs but Kelce definitely going to be number 2

Im the same. The word itself grates on me.

difference between gronk and kelce is kelce's catches are all 90% YAC and slipping away from guys, whereas gronk's are tiny window throws into tight, often double/triple coverage with insane hands and running over guys, even making diving catches with perfect throws where only he can make a play...never seen kelce do that. they are completely different. kelce doesn't have gronk's hands, but he's always schemed way more open than gronk ever was, and is never double/tripled as often as gronk. on the other hand, gronk's YAC isn't as prolific as kelce's.
DITKA!!!! DA BEARS!!!! POLISH SAWSAGE!!!! HOW ARE YA BOB!?!??! DITKA!!!!!
It's not that kelce went on a three week hiatus because he couldn't get into the endzone, after the game where he got 4 tds we just used him as a decoy because he was drawing doubles every play but enough time has gone by that we can use him like normal in the end zone. Mahomes trusts him the most.vy far so having so many rookies having to play, kelces getting the ball more

This guy has no creativity on offense. And it will continue this way because fundamentally the organization is built to fail. The Spanos have the last say on decisions over the GM and HC. They just hire coaches that have potential but since have no experience they manipulate them and make them yes men. As long as the Spanos own the team the Chargers will never progress.

My counter argument for kelce would be, why would you keep the greatest tightend receiving threat in to block? When he’s the greatest receiving tightend? Would you use your players to their strengths? Or try to use him as a power run blocker on half of his reps?

TEs in general are the future of the NFL. They create the most mismatches and have the highest level of volatility from one to the next (in terms of height, weight and speed).
