Statistically speaking, Kelce actually has a long way to go to lead all historical TEs. However, he's only played 7 seasons thus far, and all other TEs at the top of the mountain have played 11+. Gronk played 11, Jimmy Graham played 11, Sharpe played 14, Gates played 16, Gonzalez played 17, Witten played 18. I loooove football. So much. It’s my favorite sport as it just gives me a freedom from my anxiety. But to hear a player (who I respect) and others comment on an athlete “needs to get paid more” to do a job that only one gender has the chance to do is crazy to me. I’m a sports fan woman who just got let go from her job making less than $50,000 a year due to “company reconstruction” in a right to work state and now I have to figure out how to find a way to pay my bills next month…it just breaks me a bit as I would give anything to make a fraction of what these players make to do something I actually love to do every day.
It seems like only a few players understand that the less money you make in football the higher chance you have at winning Super Bowls and the higher chance you have at making money outside of football.
Travis is also building a brand, Saturday night live, talk shows etc.. which comes with winning. We see him more and more, his brand can make him money for many years after football.
What the players have to understand, is that the NFL is a business and in that business you have to do things that you may not want to do to get to places that you want to go. Travis has already won two super bowls and participated in three he has proved himself worthy enough to be considered one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history and one of the highest paid. But that would always be overshadowed by how great his quarterback is😊
Kelce seems like the kind of guy who could make up some of this with off the field deals/ endorsements or whatever seems like a cool dude, keep winning chips do other things is his best option honestly
Joy is right. If he truly feels he's "being taken advantage of" he can go elsewhere and try his luck. He can also go over to Tyreek's house and watch the Superbowl from home because neither of them will be in it.

Does happiness with a team doesn’t matter. Yes it does and endorsement matter a lot. Joy his choice and he realizes how much he enjoys being with this team
Patriots now the Chiefs have players at the top of their positions taking hometown discounts. It ruins the market for the players behind them. I always suspect somehow money being paid under the table. Who leaves tens of millions on the table to do their team a favor. These teams will cut you the moment you underperform the contract. It’s madness!
For high profile players who become household names, the "bag" is the long-term money made off the field, and after retiring from the game. Endorsements, deals, partnerships and investment opportunities rely on the fame your acquire while playing. I bet those 2 rings fetch Kelce already more money per year than what the Chiefs pay him. Look at the Brady-Fox contract. Travis has hit long-term paydirt with Mahomes and Reid, he'd be very short-sighted to throw that away. Which, by the way, he's not doing.
Kelce will recoup all that money with sponsorships because his team is succeeding. Having a great career always gives you more in the long run. If he retires as the best TE of all time he will make more outside of football than he would’ve inside of it. Always value your career and situation more than your contract past a certain point.
Don’t mess with happy. Kelce is playing with his bestie who is the best QB and for Andy who’s an offensive guru and a players’ coach while building a dynasty and playing in front of fans who love him. He’s living the dream while making $14M/yr. Kelce is the only TE who could get $20M/yr. There’s no resetting the market for TE’s though. He’s special.
Ive been saying this, they say Mahommes underpaid. But kelce is definitely more criminally underpaid. I think hes reffering more to the TE market. But its really his job to reset the market. Hes being underpaid because of his position title. Because he puts up wide reciever numbers😅. Hes probably the only TE who can reset the market though.

This mentality only works if you're on an all-time great team with an all-time great QB and an all-time great head coach. You have to be guarenteed highly successful seasons and deep playoff runs. Tom Brady did the same thing for years in NE.
4 yr 57,250,000 moving 14 a year and 20,750,000 was guaranteed at signing! Life must be so hard the struggle is definitely real. Dude makes more money than a group of 10 people will make in their lives. If I ever got that sort of deal I would play my 4 years and never ask for another contract again 57 almost 60 million in 4 years sign me up but I don’t see how these type of people ever complain about money again it’s stupid
Simple fix...Brett Veach give Travis a $15 - $18 million bonus attached to his $14mil year salary like they did with Aaron Donald. That would put T.Kelce at $19mil or $20mil per season for the remaining 3yrs on his contract.
He got a good faith extension a couple years ago. Just some players like Tyreek, Watson, Wilson, and Murray taking teams to the cleaners without backing it up with wins or sometimes stats. TEs are looked at kinda different too than outside WRs. I mean if you're a slot inside WR you're kinda limited and teams aren't looking to you first as it is.
Kelcie should be making ATLEAST $25 PER. His stats are comparable and even better than some of the top WR#1 in this league. He's being pigeonholed bc of his position. He's been putting up numbers before MaHomes as well.
More on KC than Kelce speaking realistically loyalty should go both ways, if Kelce is remaining loyal knowing he can make more KC should just pay him maybe not the same but close to what other teams are willing to pay

@johncods what's your point? Doesn't negate the fact these guys get criminal amounts of money to play a game. Underpaid? This guy has lost all sense of reality
In this particular game the guarantees are less and the risk more. 1 play, 1 hit, 1 diving catch could end his career. That's why guys feel they need the bag now.
@jca7343 is that attitude how u talk to your mom? And no, how capitalism functions does not confuse me. However, that does not mean it is the best possible system. In no way shape or form does a person that plays a game deserve the kind of money he thinks he deserves. It's outrageous. You can argue that he does but just because capitalism allows it doesn't make it right
The fact that there are league wide preconceptions of what a position is worth means the league even after all this time under-appreciates and under-values play makers and difference makers that don't play as typical WRs, Edge, Left Tackle etc. Are you scheming your offence or defence around a player? Are they consistently productive? Kelce is underpaid. It's obvious and that's the Chiefs failure (and Travis's). I have no problem with people taking less and weighing other priorities. To some extent I think you have to go that far to win, but the league's bias toward position pay vs individual production is really poor and unimaginative.

Maybe post the entire quote tf he literally says he loves being a champ more.
That’s how they get their views lol click bait
"Making three or four or TWO times as much"
Great counting there Acho
It seems like only a few players understand that the less money you make in football the higher chance you have at winning Super Bowls and the higher chance you have at making money outside of football.
Not true at all. It’s plenty of broke champions
Only 1 team can win the superbowl. So getting paid has to be priority number 1
@@coldskyrim has to be number 1. Your family comes first.
SuperBowls don’t pay the bills, money does.. you still need your money for after you retire
@@carlgilmore-murry5789 y’all act like they will be paid minimum wage if they don’t try and get a big contract.
Travis is also building a brand, Saturday night live, talk shows etc.. which comes with winning. We see him more and more, his brand can make him money for many years after football.
A great legacy is priceless!!! Not always about the money. Plenty of dudes that play a good game and are making bank...but weak legacy.

What the players have to understand, is that the NFL is a business and in that business you have to do things that you may not want to do to get to places that you want to go. Travis has already won two super bowls and participated in three he has proved himself worthy enough to be considered one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history and one of the highest paid. But that would always be overshadowed by how great his quarterback is😊
I didn't hear them mention the rest of the story. Kelce said he's OK with his situation.
Kelce seems like the kind of guy who could make up some of this with off the field deals/ endorsements or whatever seems like a cool dude, keep winning chips do other things is his best option honestly
Why should he?😠
Win and make just as much money or go a team that sucks

Great segment!
Joy is right. If he truly feels he's "being taken advantage of" he can go elsewhere and try his luck. He can also go over to Tyreek's house and watch the Superbowl from home because neither of them will be in it.
Hate to break it to ya but neither will the chiefs without Kelse

Does happiness with a team doesn’t matter. Yes it does and endorsement matter a lot. Joy his choice and he realizes how much he enjoys being with this team
The money he makes off the field is not a reason to lower the salary he makes on the field. I wish media commentators would stop bringing that up
He would make a lot less off the field if he wasn’t on an SB team though
Whoever picked out Joy outfit is the real MVP
@@Mr8thwonderofthewrldyou’re sick, get some help

Kelce will recoup all that money with sponsorships because his team is succeeding. Having a great career always gives you more in the long run. If he retires as the best TE of all time he will make more outside of football than he would’ve inside of it. Always value your career and situation more than your contract past a certain point.
They need to show what he said after that
He Deserves His Bread he’s one of the Best Tight Ends in the NFL
Kelce is Football Rich meaning the game of football where it matters QB, Coach, Ownership all solid and this team wins
Stick to basketball Rick, dude really said he wasn’t that dude before 2020 lol

Love y’all 🙏🏽😇
all players get paid to more for playing a game when we have soldiers risking their lives so they can play the game
So who exactly are they paying ? Where’s this money going

I agree with her!
Kelce owns a chain of car washes. He'll be able to get by.
I don't see Darren Waller with a piece in Vanity Fair. Its VF not a sports magazine and Travis Kelce is in it. Dude has crossed into the mainstream.
TK been getting busy since 2016 honestly. 80 plus catches and 1k plus yards every year.
This mentality only works if you're on an all-time great team with an all-time great QB and an all-time great head coach. You have to be guarenteed highly successful seasons and deep playoff runs. Tom Brady did the same thing for years in NE.
He also said in the say quote that he likes winning more then money
4 yr 57,250,000 moving 14 a year and 20,750,000 was guaranteed at signing! Life must be so hard the struggle is definitely real. Dude makes more money than a group of 10 people will make in their lives. If I ever got that sort of deal I would play my 4 years and never ask for another contract again 57 almost 60 million in 4 years sign me up but I don’t see how these type of people ever complain about money again it’s stupid
Kelce isn't complaining. He says he is ok with the situation. The video doesn't show the entire clip.
It's a violent game. Get all the money you can. It's not your job to build the team. Get paid folks, get paid
lowkey see some tension there with the whole crew when acho brings up the “homie leaving” part
Simple fix...Brett Veach give Travis a $15 - $18 million bonus attached to his $14mil year salary like they did with Aaron Donald.
That would put T.Kelce at $19mil or $20mil per season for the remaining 3yrs on his contract.
Joy making alot of solid points. I give her props because alot of women in her position just don't be talkin about shiiii
Exactly Joy tell ‘em boo !
Slot inside wrs even get paid more den top TEs.
15 million and he is being taken advantage of?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Kelcie should be making ATLEAST $25 PER. His stats are comparable and even better than some of the top WR#1 in this league. He's being pigeonholed bc of his position. He's been putting up numbers before MaHomes as well.
He's actually more value than most receivers. I can tell by where he gets drafted in fantasy football.
They handed him 3 mill bonus before last season.
More on KC than Kelce speaking realistically loyalty should go both ways, if Kelce is remaining loyal knowing he can make more KC should just pay him maybe not the same but close to what other teams are willing to pay
I think this debate is 4 u guys, trying to stir up something. I hate the Media n some talkshow.
didnt this conversation come up last year as well. and Kelce said he is being paid less to help his team get more players.
When Travis signed that deal he was 30 years old. How many other teams would have given him 4 at 57 mill? The Chiefs took that risk and it paid off.
Everyone thinks they’re underpaid

Contentment with Godliness is great gain
Fire your agent , Don’t sign the next extension if you don’t like the numbers.
In a few years I think elite TEs will be the second highest paid offense players after QBs
Are we still pretending that SNL is relevant in 2023?
They totally misinterpreted what he said. He clearly said free agency makes you think you're being taken advantage of when you get money.
If you get paid more than a heart surgeon to play a game you are not being taken advantage of.
40,000 people are not paying money every Sunday to watch a heart surgeon do heart surgery lol, do heart surgeons sell merch? lol.. They dont have TV deals either lol
@@Dad4changethey get paid their market value. Does capitalism confuse you?
In a salary cap league. You cannot pay everyone top dollar. And if you can get more money somewhere else, no one is gonna blame you.

That’s how it works so all the good players don’t end up on one team. There’s a cap.
