Mlkkk hqmc had a specific numerical requirement during the draw down they did this by severely limiting who could reenlist and how many packages were accepted for retention, alot of good Marines were left jobless because the Marine corps didn't need the bodies

I watched these videos when they started till I got out of the Marines. I’m now an Army Warrant Officer. It makes me sad knowing these guys are out and not making videos anymore. Makes me feel old, and reminds me of a good time in my life that I’ll only have memories of. And some of those memories are of this channel. Thank you terminal boots. Through the comedy and pain of real shitty times, you’ve had an impact on me and fellow Marines that will last a life time. Thank you

John got married sometime ago and has one baby daughter. I don't know much of anything about the other two. Deacon wrote an article back in 2018 entitled Warless Warriors for OAF Nation. In that article explains his reasons for leaving the Marine Corps and also gives poignant and insightful comments about the way of the warrior. That article really spoke to me and revived my interest in that path, something I had been thinking about for years. But his article made me think about it again.

When I was on AD everyone I knew had a CAR from Iraq & Afghanistan but those days are long gone. When I first got back from my 3rd deployment to OEF as a reservist (I had done 2 deployments on AD OIFx1 and OEFx2) I noticed that guys with CARs got rarer than it was guys with campaign medals got rarer and there is one prior AD CPL who has been to Iraq during Inherent Resolve. I have told many guys who are mad about never deploying that even if they did deploy you have no say where you are in the country you could be stuck running gate guard at Kandahar Airfield or you could be at a combat outpost in the middle of nowhere you just never know and the days of taking the fight down range in OEF is for the most part over. When I went to OCS and TBS none of the Sergeant Instructors had a CAR. It's not a big deal I think guys put deploying on a pedestal. I will be honest most the time in the country is spent doing jack and shit. I have a buddy who is an 0331still on AD who has been to Iraq x2 and Afghanistan x2 and still does not have CAR and never fired his rifle. At the end of the day once you are out nobody is going to ask you. I am still a reservist and I have not worn my dress in a few years. Nobody cares just be proud you served your country.
The running all over base to get signatures you never knew you needed was my favorite part of ETSing also. I didn't even know what the hell half of people even had to do with me leaving the military.

The dry cleaners next to the hadnot point px will clean your cif for you. Having your whole issue cleaned costs like 40 bucks and totally worth it
Im not a Marine but worked with plenty in Darwin, Australia 2015-2017 and plenty of US Army in Afghanistan 2020. Boy we had so much fun. I miss all them lads but many have discharged.. might go to the US and catch up with them. I left full time military last year too. it goes by very quickly, much nostalgia.

I know so many guys who tried to go to college and just could not make it work & never got it. I tell everyone I know to stay in school & if you miss the military go back as an officer because its a way better quality of life. Worst case do the reserves. The post 9/11 is amazing you literally get paid to be in school. Hell I loved college. I had a sophomore girlfriend at 23, rushed a frat, and lived in the frat house & stacked my schedule to have 4 day weekends. The part that sucks is dealing with immature 18 year old's who do not know how to handle their booze and there are some crappy professors. It did get old my last year but grad school is even better everyone is older and the curriculum is more focused. I was an idiot and joined the active reserves after learning about it in TAPs for the bonus. Ended up getting activated for a 3rd deployment to OEF right after I graduated college and was pissed. Every time I had some nostalgia kick in I had a reminder once a month about what I hated about the military.
This made me sad - It feels like this video is really just one last goodbye.
