Watched the first two minutes of the video without sound, don't ask why. Then watched it from the beginning with sound. It was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time! With the music and your struggle with the roof, perfection! I couldn't stop laughing! I can see that short clip going viral! ( from 0:00 to 1:44)
haha thanks. Yea, I had the idea to make it suspensfull. "Is he going to drop it!!!!" Great Idea, I will make a short out of it! If you like my sense of humor, go check out my "is a 2 door bronco family friendly"
Dude, love your videos - been watching for a while and finally got my bronco this weekend! Thanks for showing us how it's done (or not done, as it were lol) -- appreciate the content. If it stops raining here, I'm lookin' forward to getting my hard top off.
It would be easier if you first sat it up on a couple saw horses ( We'll call them Bronco stands ) so you can get under it better , then have a small step up at the back of the Bronco to gain some height as you place it over the roll bars . Some practice and I'm sure it can be done .
Exactly! I'm going to build a stand next spring to put the top on with holders for the panels and doors underneath. If I could start with my hands up and extended it'd be easy. But it's way too unbalanced to push it up there without tipping haha.
The trick to getting the rear section on yourself: Line up the top with the back, then when you get under face the tailgate of the top and walk backwards. You can hold the back up which will slide it on super easy. I did that and got it on and the pins lined up in literally less than 10 seconds.
LMAO I am so glad you made this video.... I was thinking of doing this part myself but after watching you, forget it. Removing the back piece isn't so terribly but putting it back on is way too cumbersome and risks damaging something.
I’m sorry ‘bro, i’m not supposed to laugh at another man’s misery but you were so fun to watch. I have a 2dr hardtop too. Will surely not even try do this alone😂👍🏼
if you set up a table or something that allows you to get under it and get a firm wide hold of the cap so you have control it might be possible but honestly either a second person or some type of hoist whether it be portable or in a garage is best.
Hey, at least you gave it a try! Quick question..... The mat with the bronco on it in the back, did that come with the Bronco or did you buy it somewhere else?
With 2 people removing and installing the top, would it be easier in your opinion opening the rear gate just to open the top rear glass then closing the lower gate before removal/reinstall? I would think so...
haha I tried! It's the picking it off the ground and shifting it without dropping it that's hard. It's not that heavy. If I could start elevated with arms up it'd be a piece of cake. Going to build a stand this summer.
@@NorthShoreBronco I used to put my top on my 76 GMC Jimmy by myself when I was 16-19. My friends were always there to help me take it off but never there to help me put it back on. 😂
No way you can put it on facing Bronco. It's just too eccentric a load and way too bulky. Someone posted below the "bronco stands." I have some metal collapsible work stands that I can raise to almost my belly height. Makes it super easy to pick up and set down. Totally the trick is to face the tailgate. Sit with your thighs on the bumper and find the center of mass (right at the rear connection points) and lift with your thighs as you stand. Walk a few feet and lower down a foot or so with just a slight knee-bend. Reverse.
#1 Thing I Don't Like About the Bronco - The '22 dealer allocation formula The Bronco is nearly impossible to get for many long time reservation holders. Any dealer whose slice of the Bronco reservations is greater than their slice of overall Ford sales is going to have reservation holders waiting while other dealers will have dealer stock. Ford has reneged on their commitment to deliver reservations before dealer stock. For customers that reserved at smaller dealers who have fully embraced the Bronco, it will take years for them to get a delivery. Shame on Ford for pandering to large dealerships.

This is the funniest video Ive seen on RUclips in such a long time hahahahaha! Thanks!
Haha thanks!
Valiant effort for sure. The music was perfect for the struggle.
@@luckydoggarage8229 haha thanks. Yea, definitely not doing that again. But I had to at least try.

Glad to hear it! Make sure you grab a friend to put it back on hahaha.

Thanks for the video. Nice YJ in the background.
Thanks! It's my buddy Dave's. You can see his Jeep in alot of my Snow Wheeling videos.

I had faith this time around lol I thought you would be able to do it!
Haha. Oh I tried!

Hahaha. Yes... don't do it. 0 stars. Do not recommend.

Oh for sure, I just wanted to see if I could do it haha. I'm going to build a stand so I can just slide it on and off.
I definitely want a soft top for spring-fall, and the hard top for winter
Awesome! Love the content
Appreciate it! lot's more to come!
Get a TopLift Pro already.
it's fine haha. Actually working on building something.
Hey, at least you gave it a try!
Quick question..... The mat with the bronco on it in the back, did that come with the Bronco or did you buy it somewhere else?
Thanks! It's a ford accessory from the dealer. Rear cargo matt.
Thanks!
Holy shit! That looked really close to dropping it! Eek!
I had it! .... I really didn't..... But my buddy was there as backup haha.
Have you added the Rockworx quick removal machine heads to make it easier to take the top off?
I didn't. I actually don't remove my top all that often.... I did buy a milwaukee 12v ratchet tho that helps.
With 2 people removing and installing the top, would it be easier in your opinion opening the rear gate just to open the top rear glass then closing the lower gate before removal/reinstall? I would think so...
Maybe. Could be worth a try. ON my own I needed to sit down and lift it up from there.
Come on man... I had a 1979 Bronco and I used to remove and re-install the top by myself all the time.

Hahaha, thanks. Did you see the Jeep drive by in the background? Probably laughing at me haha.
😂
Thank you for this!
What does it weigh approximately?
It's about 80 lbs. It's awkward as hell tho. That's the issue for handling it. If I could start in the standing position I think I could do it.

damn heavy
More awkward then heavy. It's about 80lbs but so unstable when you try and lift it above your head lol.

almost had it
haha... yes.. almost..
Nice try it was entertaining I wonder what the Jeep guy was thinking. You get an a for effort
Haha thanks! Yea I noticed the Jeep when editing the video and thought the same thing.
Drivers side panel comes off first. Passenger side goes on first.
Commented before he said it lol
haha
I kind of regret getting my Bronco. I am recovering from cancer and weak as a kitten. My top stays on all the time. It is too much hassle to remove.
Did anyone see the Jeep roll by in the background, laughing as it passed?
I did hahaha. I'm sure they had a great laugh!
Spoiler alert!
No.

I used to take off and put on my 95 eddie bauer by myself. Rough.
Nice! Do you still have it? I hope so. Those were nice!
@NorthShoreBronco nope, 6 inch lift on 37s. Sold it to my buddy.
2023 Ford bronco wild track+ Sasquatch packet 👍⛰️
