Hey watched a few of your Bronco videos today and wanted to comment here that i am an Infinity speaker fan since the 80's lol. Great choice on speakers!
Thanks for watching! Yes I would rate this speakers as 'good', especially for the money. There are definitely better ones out there but you will pay a lot more $$$.
I added some Alpines in mine, I stuffed the inside of the housing with Dynamat. At first we hooked them up without the Dynamat and it sounded better than stock of course but then it sounded even better with the Dynamat. Especially the rear speaker housings, they are just a plastic can more or less. Also there is a hole from the glove box to the speaker housing on the passenger side front, closed that up and it sounded smoother as well. This is a great video for installation!
I have heard others note that Dynamat also makes a noticeable improvement, so I will probably add that to the rears at some point. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
I like how you actually got to the point without all the extra bs. Can actually follow this to do the work and you aint trying to promote a bunch of nonsense to make a buck. Good job thanks.
I did Rockford Fosgate primes in my bronco but also did the kick panels and factory connectors it was around 200 for all of it and it made a world of difference
Cool! The kick panel speakers are a good bit more work work to replace because you have to take a few trim panels off on each side. I am glad you are happy with your upgrade, nice work!
I am so glad that I upgraded my new 2022 bronco to the B&O with additional speakers. I would have been in the same boat as you and upgraded right away. I can't believe the lower end trim has those crappy speakers.
@@BudgetBronco I have the B&O in my 2dr and I'm here to tell you it seems to sound no better than yours with the upgrades after ForScan. A little more thumpy, but that thump comes with rattles and the deadened sound of a factory woofer. It's not bad, for an all in one package, but base is the perfect blank canvas.
This is good info, I had not yet heard of anybody doing the FORScan mod on the upgraded B&O system. If it does not help on that system, you can always revert it back.
Thanks for this video. I replaced my dash speakers with the Infinity's. Tired the bass blocker for a few days but I felt it made the speakers too "tinny" sounding. I get a much warmer sound without the filter. Next project is a subwoofer as my Bronco came without one... thanks Ford.
My pleasure! That is cool, the bass blocker is optional, do what you like. I will also be installing a subwoofer, video to come some time this summer. It will be a JBL BassPro Nano.
Just finished this - thanks for the info. I added sount matting and used converter pigtails instead- but this info was the basis for it all going smoothly
Great video! Helped me out with the install a ton. I made the Forscan Change after changing out the speakers. It didn’t seem to do anything for me. When I fade to the back to see how they sounded, the speakers still sounded weak and lacking bass/mids.
Awesome, I am glad it was helpful for you! I have heard others with mixed reviews on the Forscan change. It might be due to something that has changed in the audio module since the early Broncos (mine was built July 2021). There is another line of code that you can try if you want to. In the second line of codes (just under where you changed to 3800) change that first set of numbers to 0900. I have seen some people mention this on the Bronco6g forum. I have not personally done it myself, but you might try, and if it doesn't help you can always change it back.
One other additional thing you can do is add dynomat sound deadener material inside the rear boxes and on top of the openness on the front to fix the hollow sound the speakers give because the sound is bouncing off the plastic. I saw this done on another Bronco audio upgrade video. I can’t remember the name of that channel at the moment. But it seemed to further enhance the sound quality. Nice video.
I can confirm the 3800 mod does absolutely nothing, at least to the rear speakers. I confirmed this by running rear speakers into LOC which ran into pro tools. The rear speakers are high passed it seems no matter what internet hack you apply. However, it is a fact that the first bank of that address is front speaker, second bank is rear, third bank is eq settings. What codes are de-facto specific to the Bronco is still a mystery.
Interesting....I think my video proved, at least for me, that the 3800 code change did SOMETHING, but it could be that it is only changing the front speaker output. Thanks for the comment!
@@BudgetBronco certainly may have done something. If it did something it probably configured the kick panel speakers for no tweeter or in other words low passed signal (more bass) to kick panel so it may have balanced the audio out a little more.
I replaced all 6 speakers the 4in's with 300 bass blockers on all 4, 6 3/4's for the doors... The bass and sound coming from the 6 3/4s kicks butt. I ordered from Crunch and they provided the connectors so zero splicing... Im not good at splicing so this plug n play worked out. If anyone orders kicker cs 6 3/4s you need the mounting bracket and had to hit the hardware store for mounting screws I used nuts n bolts not drilling into the sheet metal. Forscan is tuff for me as all I have are Mac's. I really wanna open up the rear speaks for more juice..
Oh nice, when I made this video almost two years ago there weren't any connectors available so I did not have a choice but it is probably worth a few bucks to buy them now that they are available. You definitely need to adjust w FORscan, it will sound a LOT better. There is also more info out there on different code settings, again when I did this 2 years ago I was one of the first to try it. Go to bronco6g.com and search and you will find a lot of good info, especially from a guy RagnarKon. Thanks for watching!
Do you need to add the bass blocker to each of the front speakers, or since they are in series only 1 side and if so which one. Thanks.for a great video
You are making it easier and easier for me to decide to go with the base! I've been holding onto a 2009 Honda Accord EX for a while, and one thing I like about it is the sound quality. I've heard the speaker system isn't that good on the bronco, and without premium speakers on the Black Diamond, I don't think I can justify spending the money just for larger rims and tires out the gate and a nicer steering wheel. Thank you!
I do think it is better to go with the lowest trim level that meets most of your needs, and then fill in any gaps with aftermarket parts. You will probably end up saving a lot of money this way. Definitely do NOT buy any package just because it comes with the B&O sound system. You can do a lot better with aftermarket audio components.
Hello Tim, I recently encountered a serious issue while upgrading the speakers on my Ford Bronco with the standard sound system, and I want to share a warning with the community. If anyone plans on using the METRA 72-5603 connectors for the dash and rear pod speakers, please be aware that the cables may be inverted. During my installation today (May 1, 2023), I noticed that the positive cable was aligned with the negative cable, causing some confusion. To clarify, I reached out to Crutchfield support with photos, and they confirmed that the connectors may be inverted. I suggest double-checking your connectors before proceeding with your installation to avoid any potential issues. Thank you for your attention and I hope this information can help others avoid this problem.
@@BudgetBronco Connecting car speakers with inverse polarity can cause poor sound quality and potentially damage the speakers. When the speakers are connected with the opposite polarity, the sound waves produced by the speakers are out of phase, which can result in cancellation or reduction of the sound output. This can cause the sound to be weak, thin, or even inaudible. Additionally, connecting speakers with inverse polarity can cause damage to the speakers over time. When the speakers are out of phase, it can cause excessive stress on the speaker components, such as the voice coil and diaphragm, which can lead to distortion, reduced sound quality, and ultimately, speaker failure.
Two reasons: 1) the kick panel speakers (they are down by your feet, but not in the doors) are a higher quality speaker, in fact if you purchase the upgraded B&O sound system the kick panel speaker is the same. Not true for the dash and rear speakers, they are low quality paper cone and if you purchase B&O they swap in a better speaker. 2) The kick panel speaker provides mostly bass, so an upgrade is not going to deliver as much impact. If you want to improve the bass you will need to buy and install a subwoofer.
Hey Tim Thanks for another good one I’m in the same boat as Alex. Mine was built Jan 14 sitting in a snow bank in Detroit I’m looking at May. Hopefully sooner. Thanks again.
Oh man that is SUPER frustrating....I feel for you guys. Hang in there it will be worth it when it finally arrives, and hopefully just in time for summertime weather and top-off driving!
Do some speakers (memphis) already have base blockers mounted on them? Or is that a capacitor of some sort? Also why are the base blockers not needed for the rear? Thanks you, your videos are super helpful!
Yes, some speakers come with a bass blocker built in. In fact if you look close in my video when I show the old speakers that I took out, you will see they have a bass blocker built in to them. A bass blocker is a capacitor, nothing more to it than that. You can use them in the rear as well, but I chose not to. In the front they are needed, because the front speakers are wired in series with the speakers in the kick panel, and those are going to be playing the lower frequency notes, so no reason to have the dash speakers try and do the same.
Dude.... You just ruined it! Imagine how much slower it's going to be with all those added grams from the new speakers!! All joking aside... Great video. I've been subscribed to and reading a couple different threads on the 6G forum about this. A lost of it is over my head. Last car stereo I messed with was in the mid 90's. Changing those speakers out looked like it made a huge difference. I am weary of messing with Forscan but I think I will try that where the dealership flashes them for that read added sound bar trick I also read about.
😂 ya those extra 800 grams probably going to decrease my gas efficiency by like 0.0001 mpg!! I think really anybody can make this modification if you have a crimping tool, just take your time and double check all the connections. FORScan is another matter. That can be tricky and you can really mess things up if you aren't careful. The JBL sound bar flash sounds promising too, I think the trick there is finding a good dealer that is knowledgeable about it and willing to do it without charging an arm and leg for the time.
The third bank of numbers is automatically populated by FORscan, and might be different from vehicle to vehicle depending on your specific configuration. You can ignore that part, just let FORscan do its thing.
Yes I think so. Keep in mind, in my video the 006D is the value AFTER I made the change. So if FORscan is changing to that value for you, we are the same
Sorry I do not want to give you bad advice so my answer is 'I don't know'. Check the link in my video description, the one I linked there I know works for sure.
Sure. I don't see why not. If you are interested in this amp, do some searching on bronco6g.com. There are a TON of posts by people that have installed it, with lots of good tips on how to set it up.
Great video, thanks for the information. You mention that the forscan increases the volume of the speakers but does it do anything to improve the sound quality? Or does the improvement in quality all come from the new speakers?
It does a little of both. I don't think the Forscan change will help much unless you are doing it in conjunction with new speakers. If you don't have the tool to make the Forscan change though, I'd say most of the improvement comes from the speaker upgrade, the Forscan just improves it a little more
I skipped over that part of the video as it doesn't apply to me. However, all he did was unlock additional power to the speakers. More wattage means more headroom. Even with the stock speakers, you're likely to see an improvement, even if only marginal, to the overall sound quality. More power means your stock speakers can now play with greater output at lower volumes. They don't have to strain as much to play as loudly, at whatever level the dial is set. This should result in a fuller, clearer sound....even with the shit stock speakers.
I bought bb-4pr instead of bb1 by accident do you think that will cut out too much low frequency? I will add a sub later so maybe in the long run that’s ok? What do you think?
Hmmm...just reading up on BB-4PR it looks like those are going to cut out everthing below around 1000 Hz whereas the ones I recommended cut at about 150Hz. That is a big difference. Good news, it can't actually hurt anything, it is just going to make those speakers act like pure tweeters. You can give it a try, and if it sounds OK to you, then good. Like you mentioned, if you are going to have a sub, then this is probably going to be a good combination.
Great video. Thank you for sharing! Do you have a link to how to use Forscan? You mentioned there’s a lot of videos out there already. I’m having trouble finding one that walks you through the whole process. Thank you
This is probably the single best document I have seen that describes how to use it, including some good videos linked within this document: docs.google.com/document/d/1-8dKaS_Spu4Zw4hV_CrKC4tLoP9G8yejqegF1wxIqxY/edit
These speakers improve the mid and high, but they are not going to add much bass. If you want to increase the bass, you will need a subwoofer. I have done some research on this, and if I do it, the sub I am going to use is the JBL Pro Nano and here is a good post on how to install it: www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/inexpensive-yet-impactful-speaker-upgrade-plus-forscan-mod.37186/post-1562579
thanks ! was looking for how to upgrade without spending huge money! will be installing soon. great channel also, watching for all your tips to upgrade my Black Diamond thanks again ps - do you have the link for the prewired connectors ?
I mentioned there was a guy selling pre-wired connectors but I don't think he is still doing so. Here is the next best thing: You can build your own, check this link for instructions: www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/full-range-to-rear-speakers.35116/page-20#post-1215936, or you can try these on Amazon but I cannot personally confirm they fit although somebody on the Bronco6G forum says they do: amzn.to/3ByZEYo
Awesome find with the Forscan change, I assumed it was in there but only thing I could find was setting in FRDS which is a lot more expensive than forscan lol.. will be making the adjustment this weekend for sure.
Cool! Credit goes to Bronco6G users that first identified it. Let me know how it goes for you. PS: I still gotta do the speedo update that you were one of the first to document.
@@BudgetBronco I assure you neither does the 2.7 Wildtrack shit the speakers are shit it’s not like you even could. What the hell could be debated? What makes the “fake engine sound” sounds like flat earth crap to me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lots of sound deadening options to place into those plastic housings so your speakers aren’t playing in a bucket, critical step if you really want to improve fidelity
Cool, thanks! I am glad it helped you. Here is the post. It is pretty long. Short summary: in the ACM module change the line 127-01-01 from 382B to 3800 www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/full-range-to-rear-speakers.35116/page-6#post-1166298
Last question! When saving modules before using forscan, do you save each module locally and then do you updates? Or only save the module you are about to update before and after you mod it? Also Go Hokies!
Here is a video on how to backup your module data before making any changes. You should save ALL the modules. That is the only way to be sure you can take it back to factory settings if something gets screwed up. It takes about 20 minutes of time, worth it. ruclips.net/video/XhFUlFgQPVE/видео.html
@@BudgetBronco sorry! If I use the wiring harness from Amazon will I still be able to use the bass blockers on the front speakers. Would I put the blockers between the speaker and the harness?
I'm not sure which harness you are referring to....maybe the one from Ebay that I linked in my description. If so yes, you would neet to add the capacitor to the + side of the harness. I think that same guy was also selling harnesses with a bass blocker already wired in...check on that.
A subwoofer will definitely be a nice addition and will add a lot to the sound system. The kick panel speakers less so, but also can't hurt. Thanks for watching!
@@BudgetBronco did the speakers yesterday along with forscan change. Havent done sub yet. Today. Idk what if anything forscan change did. Of course the new speakers were a huge upgrade so trying to tell what forescan did is impossible since I flashed it before removing any speakers. Huge improvement either way. Im certain the low profile sub will add a huge improvement as well. I came from a ford f350 that I had subs, amps etc. Mirrors would shake, lol. At 50 yrs old I am trying to grow up and really dont want all that money sitting in a soft top vehicle. Great channel you have. Thanks!
Here is the wiring diagram as published by Ford www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/bronco-standard-sound-system-6-speaker-upgrade-diy-writeup-w-instructions-dash-kick-panel-speaker-removal-wiring-diagram.25210/
I did not touch those. I have read those are a higher quality speaker than the stock 4", and they mostly put out bass so they are sufficient for their purpose. They are also a lot more work to replace, you have to take off quite a few trim pieces to get to them.
I am not but I have a lot of family out there and spent a lot of summers there when I was a kid. Aunt & Uncle in Barnstable, Aunt and Cousin in Yarmouth, and my Grandparents were in East Dennis. Thanks for watching!
Why did you put a bass bypass in the dash speakers? The dash are fed from the kick panel speakers and I thought they already had a bypass in the wiring harness? I like the upgrade. Definitely sounds better but could use more bass.
Correct, the dash speakers are fed from the kick panel speakers, but the bypass/blocker is built in to the dash speaker, so when you remove it the bypass/blocker goes with it. If you pause my video at 1:54 you will see that on the speaker on the right.
No I did not. But the stock speakers have a blocker built in to them (you can see it at 2:22 of the video) so it makes sense to add one when you install new speakers
Yes, all 4 inch. When I did this mod almost 2 years ago, they did not exist but if I were doing it today I would probably purchase the larger rear speaker enclosures that allow you to install 6 inch spearkers.
Can't really say how they compare on sound, but I am happy with the Infinity they sound good for the price, and definitely a LOT better than the stock. I think to get the sound system to truly 'great' you will have to buy an amp and a subwoofer.
@@BudgetBronco curious is your rig not supplied with a sub and amp? If not does ford supply the ran wiring still to hook up aftermarket units or will that wire need to be ran?
Love your budget upgrades, did the speakers, unfortunately the improvement is not a significant. I guess 4” speakers are 4” speakers. I probably will get a subwoofer down the road.
I think it the video I say the replacement speakers take it from a stock 3/10 level to a 6.6 out of 10. I think adding a sub would be nice, maybe take it to a 7/10.
No. The thinking is, the front dash speakers are wired to the same channel as the kick panel speakers, so the 6" kick panel speakers make the bass, and by blocking the low end to the dash they can operate more efficiently by producing just higher end. The rear has the 4" speakers only, so different setup.
Go to the bronco6g forum and search for subwoofer, there are a lot of posts with details of subs installation. Most people are mounting them in the rear cargo space. Thanks for watching!
I've been looking at the Kicker Hideaway HS8 or HS10 (powered subwoofer). They are pretty low profile. I have not measured if it will fit yet. If you are the only one in the Bronco typically, that non-directional bass from a smaller sub may be all you need. There are rumors that someone is working on a custom fit aftermarket solution for the rear storage area (back right); we shall see.
ForSCAN is the name of the software that a team of people built that allows you to modify code in the modules that run Ford (and some other) vehicles. The software has a freeware version, but you have to buy the adapter that plugs in to the car. If you have a buddy that has it, maybe he would do it for you! More info here: forscan.org/home.html
You can definitely do it! Thanks for pointing out the link, I just updated it. They guy selling them has recently restocked so they are available. If you go that route, it will make the process even easier. Thanks for watching!
I have not personally listened to the B&O but from what I have heard others saying, it does not seem like there is much improvement for the money. That can probably be said for a lot of factory 'upgraded' audio systems. Car audio is definitely something that you get more bang for the buck by doing yourself. My next audio upgrade is going to be installation of an under-seat subwoofer...stay tuned and thanks for watching!
Yes I think you are right, it sure can't hurt in the rear, where the speakers are housed inside plastic tubs. I am going to add that. Thanks for the comment!
I think the clear answer here is $$$. Ford designs to the lowest investment in audio that will make most people satisfied, knowing that audiophiles and people who care will do aftermarket improvements without much complaint. The real bummer is for those that spend on the B&O upgraded system and still get something that is very marginal.
@@BudgetBronco the B&O system is very marginal in the F-150 as well. And I understand a car with removable doors create some challenges and space for a subwoofer as well but they just did a very poor job overall in the vehicle itself, outside of maybe rivaling or exceeding the Jeep and some ways it falls very short overall convenience as a daily driver. It's hard to justify 40 to$70,000. But it's the social media hype generation...so mediocrity is the rule

If you put sound deadening into the pod, that would help as well.
Yes that is a good add, I will do this some day
One other additional thing you can do is add dynomat sound deadener material inside the rear boxes and on top of the openness on the front to fix the hollow sound the speakers give because the sound is bouncing off the plastic. I saw this done on another Bronco audio upgrade video. I can’t remember the name of that channel at the moment. But it seemed to further enhance the sound quality. Nice video.
I have seen that as well and I am probably going to add that some time in the future. Thanks for watching!
You will need a blocker on each, good question thanks for the comment
Good to know! Does it cause damage or just sound bad?
Can I just replace the speakers without any scanner editing?
Yes you can, no problem there. The FORScan edit will just make them even better.
Great tutorial and explanation! Why did you not replace the door speakers? Just curious
Super instructive, well-presented, and to the point. Great job. Subscribed with notifications!
Awesome, thank you!
Hey Tim
Thanks for another good one
I’m in the same boat as Alex. Mine was built Jan 14 sitting in a snow bank in Detroit
I’m looking at May. Hopefully sooner. Thanks again.
Oh man that is SUPER frustrating....I feel for you guys. Hang in there it will be worth it when it finally arrives, and hopefully just in time for summertime weather and top-off driving!
Thanks for the video. The rear speaker cover didn’t look like it snapped back on completely- did it?
Hmmm...not sure, it definitely is now! Possible that it was not fully snapped when recording but I caught that later and fixed it.
Thank you for sharing. Just finished my speaker swap and you saved me time and frustration.
Glad to hear that my video was helpful! Thanks for the comment
Great video. But the ebay link for thr prewired connectors is no good. Page is gone. Any idea if anyone else sells them. Thanks
Thanks for pointing that out. I will update the link. Here you go: www.ebay.com/itm/334544575664?hash=item4de4691cb0:g:9D4AAOSwdrpi2U~o
Do you have a link to the other speakers used? I only see one link to speakers? Or am I missing something
I used the same speakers in the dash and rear pods. Buy four of them and you are good to go!
I noticed that stock speakers RMS are 25 watts and the Infinity’s are 40 watts. Is the factory head unit handling the additional power draw?
I have not had any issues at all with power draw. I think the difference is not enough to cause any problems.
Hey. THanks so much.
I noticed the 3rd bank of numbers on yours is 006D and mine is 0098. Do you know what this controls? Thanks!!
Interestingly, i got a checksum errors with 0098. When i updated to 006D, it worked fine
The third bank of numbers is automatically populated by FORscan, and might be different from vehicle to vehicle depending on your specific configuration. You can ignore that part, just let FORscan do its thing.
@@BudgetBronco thanks. So just ignore the checksum error?
Yes I think so. Keep in mind, in my video the 006D is the value AFTER I made the change. So if FORscan is changing to that value for you, we are the same
Which capacitor do i need for the Infinity REF-4032CFX (4in) speaker?
400V - 1.5UF capacitor is good?
Sorry I do not want to give you bad advice so my answer is 'I don't know'. Check the link in my video description, the one I linked there I know works for sure.
can you add a kicker key 200.4 amp later on?
Sure. I don't see why not. If you are interested in this amp, do some searching on bronco6g.com. There are a TON of posts by people that have installed it, with lots of good tips on how to set it up.
This is definitely on my first to-do list for my Bronco. Thanks for the video.
Glad to help and thanks for watching!
Not sure why you would cut the factory harness when Metra adapters are available.
Because it is easy, and to save $20...this is Budget Bronco after all! If you are not comfortable cutting and splicing wires, buy the harness.
I think you can buy some wiring harness adapters so you wont have to cut the wires. Can usually get them from Crutchfield. Great video.
Yes probably, if I hear from users that they found some that fit properly I will update the description with a link. Thanks for the comment!
Thank you. Great videos!
Thank you 😊
How would you rate the quality of bass with new speakers compared to old? Night and day difference?
These speakers improve the mid and high, but they are not going to add much bass. If you want to increase the bass, you will need a subwoofer. I have done some research on this, and if I do it, the sub I am going to use is the JBL Pro Nano and here is a good post on how to install it: www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/inexpensive-yet-impactful-speaker-upgrade-plus-forscan-mod.37186/post-1562579
thanks ! was looking for how to upgrade without spending huge money! will be installing soon. great channel also, watching for all your tips to upgrade my Black Diamond thanks again
ps - do you have the link for the prewired connectors ?
Sweet update. Any idea why the programming from Ford was limiting the rear speaker sound to begin with? Is it part of the fake internal exhaust sound?
No, I think it is more because they were worried about users blowing the crappy stock speakers.
What fake exhaust sound?
I have seen this debated but I agree at least on the Base, there is no fake engine sound being generated.
@@BudgetBronco I assure you neither does the 2.7 Wildtrack shit the speakers are shit it’s not like you even could. What the hell could be debated? What makes the “fake engine sound” sounds like flat earth crap to me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
this is invaluable information, thanks for the video. This will be one of the first mods I'll do to my 2 door BaseSquatch when it arrives.
It is definitely worth the investment of time and money for the improvement you get. Thanks for watching!
Lots of sound deadening options to place into those plastic housings so your speakers aren’t playing in a bucket, critical step if you really want to improve fidelity
Good comment, yes I am going to add some Dynamat or similar. Others have done it and commented that it helps. Also easy and not very expensive to do.
@@BudgetBronco try boom mat 4 inch low profile sleeves, does the job in my Wrangler sound bar
Great video. I upgraded all of my 4" speakers thanks to you! Next step is doing the FORScan mod. Do you have the forum thread you referenced too?
Cool, thanks! I am glad it helped you. Here is the post. It is pretty long. Short summary: in the ACM module change the line 127-01-01 from 382B to 3800 www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/full-range-to-rear-speakers.35116/page-6#post-1166298
@@BudgetBronco Awesome. Thread looks like a lot of them changed it to 3801 instead of 3800. I wonder what the difference is.
Last question! When saving modules before using forscan, do you save each module locally and then do you updates? Or only save the module you are about to update before and after you mod it? Also Go Hokies!
Not sure...I only tried 00. And yes GO HOKIES!
Here is a video on how to backup your module data before making any changes. You should save ALL the modules. That is the only way to be sure you can take it back to factory settings if something gets screwed up. It takes about 20 minutes of time, worth it. ruclips.net/video/XhFUlFgQPVE/видео.html
Great video! Quick question, can I sue the wiring harness with the bass blocker in the front? Thanks!
Sorry, I am not sure I understand your question...please clarify and I will try to help
@@BudgetBronco perfect! Thanks!
Is there any benefit to do the forscan on stock speaker?
On the stock speakers, probably not. Ford already has the settings dialed in for them.
Very useful. I will be do this, this weekend but also the kick panel speakers and low profile sub.👍🏻
Thanks!
Isn’t the rear black wire with white stripe typically negative?
Here is the wiring diagram as published by Ford www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/bronco-standard-sound-system-6-speaker-upgrade-diy-writeup-w-instructions-dash-kick-panel-speaker-removal-wiring-diagram.25210/
GREAT content !!! Can’t wait to upgrade my bronco sound system!
Thanks for the comment!
Did I miss something? Didn’t you do the kicker speakers as well? By your feet?
I did not touch those. I have read those are a higher quality speaker than the stock 4", and they mostly put out bass so they are sufficient for their purpose. They are also a lot more work to replace, you have to take off quite a few trim pieces to get to them.
How do you physically connect forscan to the bronco?
You need an adapter that connects a PC to the OBD port on the Bronco. This is the one that I use and can recommend: amzn.to/3LMqEbV
I see you’ve got a Hyannis hat on! Are you on cape cod?! Or have you just visited? I live on cape so that’s why I’m asking, very cool either way!
I am not but I have a lot of family out there and spent a lot of summers there when I was a kid. Aunt & Uncle in Barnstable, Aunt and Cousin in Yarmouth, and my Grandparents were in East Dennis. Thanks for watching!
are both front and back speakers the same size 4" Thanks.
Yes. The dash speakers and rear pod speakers are all 4". The kick panel speakers down by your feet are not, they are bigger.
Any chance you’re willing to help a fellow Pittsburgher with a Black Diamond edition on the Forscan portion you show in this video?
Sure. Send me an email, you will find it on the 'About' section of my youtube channel.
@@BudgetBronco Hummm…. What if the email isn’t there? Or at least I do not see it in the ABOUT tab. Thoughts?
It is there: ruclips.net/user/BudgetBroncoabout
Why did you put a bass bypass in the dash speakers? The dash are fed from the kick panel speakers and I thought they already had a bypass in the wiring harness? I like the upgrade. Definitely sounds better but could use more bass.
Correct, the dash speakers are fed from the kick panel speakers, but the bypass/blocker is built in to the dash speaker, so when you remove it the bypass/blocker goes with it. If you pause my video at 1:54 you will see that on the speaker on the right.
Thanks. Are the rear speakers the same?
Yes, the stock rear speakers are the same part number as the front.
So you added a bass blocker there too?
No, I did not in the rear, mostly because unlike the front there is no kick panel speaker siphoning off the bass.
Are you still running the same FORScan parameters ?
Yes, still the same, no problems a year later.
Very cool. Did you try without the bass blocker? I wonder if it’s already filtered digitally since it should be going to the kickers anyway.
No I did not. But the stock speakers have a blocker built in to them (you can see it at 2:22 of the video) so it makes sense to add one when you install new speakers
@@BudgetBronco makes sense! Thanks for the great content!
They sounded super crunchy without the blockers. Now the bass stays low where it’s supposed to be and fills the space nicely. $10 well spent.
Some speakers have the bass blocker (Caps) already installed on the speaker as these stock ones do.
Ya definitely a improvement so all speakers are 4 in?
Yes, all 4 inch. When I did this mod almost 2 years ago, they did not exist but if I were doing it today I would probably purchase the larger rear speaker enclosures that allow you to install 6 inch spearkers.
@@BudgetBronco I have a 4 door big bend ordered with the basic speakers, so I am probably gonna get 2 sets of these
@@BudgetBronco I’m curious do you regret getting the infinity speakers over something else like kicker? Do they sound great?
Where did you put tge bass blocker?
You can see it at 12:31 of the video. The bass blocker goes between the speaker and the dash on the POSITIVE wire.
Hey Tim. Is there a way that we can chat as I have some questions.
Send me an email. Go to my youtube home page, click on 'About', and you will find my email there
Have you recalibrated your Speedo yet?
Not yet but soon!
Your videos are awesome....keep em coming
Thanks! Will do!
do you know if these speakers are 4ohm to match the stock speakers?
Product labeling says 'Nominal impedance 3 ohms'
I would be concerned of overheating with lower ohm than 4. But my old school radio install days were back in 80s
Haven’t had a problem and have had the Infinity Ref installed since August.
Same for me, no problems so far and I have had them cranked up pretty good.
No base blockers on rear speakers?
No. The thinking is, the front dash speakers are wired to the same channel as the kick panel speakers, so the 6" kick panel speakers make the bass, and by blocking the low end to the dash they can operate more efficiently by producing just higher end. The rear has the 4" speakers only, so different setup.
@@BudgetBronco thanks
Has anyone thought about a subwoofer under the driver’s seat? Great video by the way.
What is 4scan? And how do get someone to do it for me?
ForSCAN is the name of the software that a team of people built that allows you to modify code in the modules that run Ford (and some other) vehicles. The software has a freeware version, but you have to buy the adapter that plugs in to the car. If you have a buddy that has it, maybe he would do it for you! More info here: forscan.org/home.html
Great video. I feel like I could do this! FYI….eBay link isn’t working.
You can definitely do it! Thanks for pointing out the link, I just updated it. They guy selling them has recently restocked so they are available. If you go that route, it will make the process even easier. Thanks for watching!
Do you really need the base blockers?
Definitely not required, but I believe it allows the small 4" speakers to focus on what they do best which is mid and highs.
@@BudgetBronco got it. Thanks for the feedback
Excellent video, thanks!
You are welcome!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching
Great video helps a ton thx
Glad to hear it and thanks for watching!
Outstanding improvement. We certainly don't get our money's worth with the B & O upgrade, do we? Shame on Ford.
Great video
Thanks for watching!
Don't really need bass blockers on decent midranges.
Can't hurt though, right?
needs sound deadening padding to prevent hollow sound in this 4x4. It's a plastic monster
Yes I think you are right, it sure can't hurt in the rear, where the speakers are housed inside plastic tubs. I am going to add that. Thanks for the comment!
Much better.
Definitely! Thanks for watching
Modifications special programmers upgrades all to make it better, why don't they just build it correctly the first place
I just everything you did. Sounds great, but boy u made it look easy. Smh lol! What a b!
HAHA I guess that is the magic of youtube editing. Hopefully you did not have too much trouble. Thanks for watching!!
I brought the same OBDlink Ex for my 2023 bronco. But when I run it. ACM module didn’t show up. Can’t access the speaker adjustment. There list modules show up on mine then your. Can you help in anyway.
