Tom Scores a 60! (but Will it Run?) Also: Free Chrysler and Super Bee Drive!

  • Hi everyone! Sorry I'm late; just a slight emergency on the Citroen project put me behind last night... Who needs sleep anyway? This week I got to catch up with Tom! He scored a sweet 60 Chevy Impala restoration project, and I thought it would be cool to get it running after he tidied it up so nice!
Also: A very kind gentleman donated a decent old 1966 Chrysler 2 door to the pile here, so I figured we should have a quick look and put it away with the fun forklift we bought earlier this spring!
Finally, the long-awaited 1970 Dodge Super Bee drive with Agent 7678! Yes, tires were harmed, but no too badly, haha...
Then, a bit of "Light Buzz" to finish off the day!
Thanks also to everyone who subscribed to our channel here, and thanks also for all of your "likes" and comments! If you would like to help keep our channel going, you can get a sticker, hat or a coffee mug at:

Fantastic video! Every episode better than the last! The DS AC looks to be working too good. You'll have to add some type of compressor cycling setup to keep the evap core from freezing up. Low pressure switch on the low side or capillary tube switch in the evap core. Loved the "Light Buzz" segment. I've always OCD'ed on interior lights and fittings. Looks great! Thanks for making my Saturday night great!

Not gonna lie: I want the Windsor. It's big, beautiful, and with a 383 in the nose, and a Sure-Grip pushing her, I'd be the happiest dude on my block. And I could pile the little ones in the back(plenty of room for car safety seats) & take them to a drive thru. It'd be a mess afterwards, but they'll never forget what a real car feels like. Thanks for the best part of my Saturday, Scott!

Quite agree. It seems unfair that a quality channel like CWM is sitting *under* 50k subs, when fake rubbish can pull in 3M+. 🤔
I do my best to mention CWM on other car channels but I think we, the subscribers, should try a wee bit harder to spread the word.😁 Something I've wondered about; would a collab with another "good taste" car channel maybe help? I suppose it would need to be a Canadian channel, purely due to the distances involved. Just a thought.😁

    • @2H80vids
      @2H80vids 4 года назад

@Leonard Carr I would *guess* that the channel appeals to the more mature car guys. I don't think too many of the younger guys are into carburretors and chrome.
While CWM is crammed with high quality content, it's not the fastest-moving of styles. For me, that's part of the attraction but many of today's viewers want twenty minutes of speeded-up footage, loud music and aftermarket bolt-ons, rather than the chilled-out, laid-back style we're treated to here.
I really hope the channel continues to thrive and grow, without being forced to change the style of program. I love the longer episodes and the in-depth features, like trim repairs and fabrication of unique parts.
If you see this comment Scott, please don't change things; CWM is great just the way it is.

Marvelous to see Tom. He has been absent so long I was becoming concerned for his health. Good to see him so chipper and enthused about his latest find. It does seem to be nearly complete including the cracked windshield and usual "floor delete" package. Thank goodness the air cleaner was intact and installed. I am sure that is why the engine was free to turn. It runs a bit rough but Johnathan W. has proven that running an engine through 3 or 4 "heat cycles" will very often re-seat the valves and rings. The Citroen project seems endless. Just when I think it's approaching completion another rusted and bent part is brought to light. Please say the headliner valence is the last one! It almost seems a shame that the '66 Windsor was parted out. Unless there is hidden damage it looked like it just needed the rear quarters repaired and the drive train restored. Slip an axle under the back, bolt the trans up to a "poly" and drop them in and you would be well on your way to a winter beater entry for 20-21. The Super Bee was nice but I like the older cars better! Cheers!

SIX PAC DODGE for the win That 60 Chevy is a real find
I am a light bulb and lighting kind of guy, them textured lamps are not to be found , so cool to see one
In the states 1967 VW had backup lamps mounted on the rear bumper, Hella brand, glass and heavy chrome, they were s nice , the first and only year
Citroen is got all that busy work, but what a sweetheart she will be when done
That was another fun video, so thanks

I have to say I never thought much about the big Mopars until I started watching your show. The ‘66 you just added to the lot is gorgeous, love the body lines, grille work, color- everything! Would enjoy seeing that live again! Great show!

Scott, everyone on the interweb that watches old car “will it run” channels knows that you are the original will it run guy. They truly are my favorites. Even in the old days of your channel i learned that “yes” maybe it could run... but maybe its better to know when to stop, Love Tom and his new baby. Please keep making “will it run” episodes. They are sooo good.

One of the best CWM episodes ever! And that’s saying a LOT!
Best of luck to Tom (Mr. SOS) on that ‘60 Impala. What a SWEET find! Definitely NOT the same old sh*t! ;-)

I had two '60 Impala coupes back in the mid-'70s - mid-'80s and loved them. One had the 348 engine with the infamous Turboglide transmission. Mine actually worked and was quite fun to drive. Congrats to Tom for finding one so complete. Look forward to seeing it take shape.

The color of the Impala Sport Coupe is Tasco Turquoise. This body style was also available as a Bel Air Sport Coupe with less trim. Amazing to find so complete, if rusty.

I've owned a couple of 60 Chevs and love them. The 59 had mad styling but was a bit gawky. The 60 facelift really adds a lot of class. Everyone will probably turn their noses up at a 283 and Powerglide, but really it's quite enough power for normal use.
