Being a master basketmaker, I love the hide-covered basket. It's worth every penny and BTW, all baskets are handmade. No one has ever been able to invent a machine that can weave a basket.

That heavy "rock" is a frog. What you thought was a sewing box is a decoupaged purse. We all carried them back in my day. It would make a cute sewing box though. I'm pretty sure the little "gnome" is one of the Seven Dwarfs, Bashful. The leprechaun on the leaf is precious. I would have brought him home for personal. He would be such a cute decoration for St Patrick's Day.

That was a handbag not a sewing box. I sold those back in the 70s but the artist name escapes me . I believe they sold for between $50-$70 back then. There were several different styles and artwork varied with the different companies/ artist who produced them. Very popular with the the Pre-preppys back in the 70s.

Hamburger presses like that wooden style were popular in the 1950 and 60s and often the scenes were chickens, pigs and cows. I think they became less popular when plastic versions, like Tupperware replaced them and Ray Kroc began franchising for the McDonalds brothers burger expansion phase. I can remember making Burger patties in my grandma’s kitchen with that style.

Because building rent is so high, there are not alot of Independent stores in my area anymore except for Goodwill. I sell at flea markets and its hit/miss with what will sell.
