I Dreamed Last Night ~ Justin Hayward ~ From the Blue Jays album •
Oh I dreamed last night I was hearing
Hearing your voice
And the things that you said, well they left me
Left me no choice
And you told me we had the power
And you told me this was the hour
That you don't know how
If I could show you now
Well I dreamed last night you were calling
Calling my name
You were locked inside of you secrets
Calling my name
And you told me lost was the key
And you told me how you long to be free
That you don't know how
Oh let me show you now
Like a bird on a far distant mountain
Like a ship on an uncharted sea
You are lost in the arms that have found you
Don't be afraid
Love's plans are made
Oh, don't be afraid
If there's a time
And a place to begin love
It must be now
Let it go
Set it free
Oh, I dreamed last night I was hearing
Hearing your voice
Why did you say those things that have left me
Left me no choice?
When you told me we had the power
Why did you tell me now was the hour?
But you don't know how
Oh, let me show you now
Like a bird on a far distant mountain
Like a ship on an uncharted sea
You are lost in the arms that have found you
Oh, don't be afraid
Love's plans are made
Don't be afraid
If there's a time
And a place to begin love
It must be now
Let it go
Set it free
Oh I dreamed last night I was hearing
Hearing your voice
My favorite Blue Jays song. No matter how many good singers there are that I like, I will always pick Justin Hayward over them all.
Those are the dreams that wake you up at 3 am and haunt you for the rest of your day ,,if not your life.
Still makes me cry all these years later. A masterpiece of musical style & loveliness.
The Moody Blues and Justin Hayward get better and better as the years shoot by at warp speed. This came out in Spring '75 as I was finishing my senior year in high school and waiting to report to Marine Boot Camp in San Diego. This song came out about the same time that I met a girl who sat two rows across from me in consumer finance. We met,we fell in love and this october we will celebrate our thirty-second wedding anniversary. This definitely brings me back to that time.....Thanks for Posting
Thanks for serving..Army 74-77
Justin Hayward has one of the most beautiful voices..... Period.
This song got stuck in the back of my head since i heard it more than 40 years ago. Enigmatic voice.
Beautiful song.
Justin Hayward is one of the greatest singers, songwriters and guitarists of all time.
He has a gift, my friend.
I was stunned when this album arrived. Just as relevant today as it was then.
Terrific song.

Was it really 35 years ago? Was i ever that young? YES, and preserved somewhere it their music I ALWAYS will be....this is no ordinary "band"...if things are just, their music will live forever...
Great song from Justin Hayward, love all the Moody Blues songs, they beat all the songs by a mile for me.

Justin's music, songwriting, guitar playing & voice are very much underrated
Justin's voice is just pure magic. Thank you.
I have over 600 albums of GREAT music from the 60s,70s 80s and i come back to the MOODY BLUES all the time .THEY ARE 1 OF THE BEST BANDS EVER.!!!!!
Ya! Me 600 plus vinyl plus 600 plus cd's. Me be music lover but I know there are bigger fans than me. But I know good music when I hear it and this be a very good tune. Thank you Justin. Fsw

I agree completely!
over 60 years of enjoying music, the Moodies just rise to the top of my desire for tranquility and aural pleasure.
P.s. great photos!!!! 😇
whoever coreographed or videographed this did their job above and beyond
I miss the Oregon coast. Thank you for those pics and this incredibly beautiful song.
The London Symphony Orchestra and Justin Hayward's voice is like a perfect marriage!
A classic from the blue jays album.I have it on vinyl.Hayward is indeed the master!!!!
J.H. encore magnifique!ce titre!
Justin Hayward has the best voice in pop history and still performing. My favourite album but have them all.
He has the most soothing, mystical, angelic voice! Brings me back to a place and time of my life that all I have left is memories and this "gentle" man's voice singing and this bands beautiful music! Thank you sweet Moody Blues! Forever in my heart and soul! ❤️❤️
HJ Stokes agree wholeheartedly. Saw him last month, still magical.
I've felt that way since 1970...and 50yrs later, I feel the same. It's as though he pulled out of my soul, everything I've felt all of my 66yrs. of life. I've seen Justin, with and without, about 50something times. 🎼🎶🎵🎶🎸🎻🎻🎹🎶🎵🎶🥁🎷
He comes from an area of England Swindon in Wiltshire where a lot of crop circles have made their appearence . Mystical music from a mystical area.
One of my favourite albums of all.
So beautiful.

Blown away by this melody all the time...so much to it!!!Bravo!!
great song brings back good memorys
Timeless; and a perfect voice of renewal of life and light to the soul. Is there any doubt Holy Spirit doesn't inspire even NOW ?
I have to agree with you Aslam - Brilliant. Just Brilliant. Absolutely Brilliant.
This song has such amazing lyrics. I still remember the first time I heard it years ago...just left me stunned with it's depth of emotion and beauty.
As always, your artwork with the video is a lovely addition to the experience of hearing this song.
5*****
fantastic, loved this song for years... thank you!!
Extreme Love!
So beautiful* Justin Hayward, you're the best*
This song reminds me of my beloved sister so much. We lost her in 2018 and I swear sometimes I can still hear her voice. I love you, Jeanette!
the blue jays incarnation of moody blues was a brilliant work, and this song is one of the most beautiful ever recorded in my opinion... the key changes and crescendos, harmonies, instrumentation, and especially the amazing voice of Justin Hayward blend in a richness that is just intoxicating ... love this song . well done on the video !
I remember thinking the moodies were disbanded for good in 75 and I see a Phil Travers record cover art in the bin and thought this looks like a moodies album. After reading the cover I was thrilled that Justin and John had a solo[ or duo] effort! so I bought the album and the quadrophonic 8track tape! The album holds its own with alot of the Moodies Albums!
@borecleaner1 I agree wholeheartedly borecleaner man! This song does a similar thing to me as well. After a 4 year Navy stint I was "back home with Mom and Dad" and must have been yearning for unfound love as, when this tune came on the radio, the emotion and tears totally confused me! How could a mere song on the radio make me feel this way?! 2 years later I met HER and now......yup, thanks Justin (and John) for the guidance.....and the recurring emotional memory.
Such a beautiful song. Justin is one of my favorite singers.
Absolutely my favorite band from the british invasion,I have seen the moody blues in concert at least 20 times
The dream is coming to a beautiful reality though Slowly.....love you still
Pure genius! One of the loveliest recordings I've ever heard!
I remember this well, I was in love with a very beautiful girl... things just didn't work out. I heard this song when we broke up... I often wondered if things would have worked out. Miss her and it has been over 30 years ago.
thank you coloradream- another masterpiece to another classic!!
I still listen to this song at least three times a week.
Moody Blues are the masters of good music with great lyrics.
Seeing the Moodies was on my "bucket list" too, and in May I got to see them! Trouble is, just makes me want to go to another MB concert. :)
Lifting Lovely Melody.
Power To Dream.
The Moodys are my favourite band of all time, but it seems to me that Hayward is the major contributor both in songwriting and vocals, the man remains modest about the part he plays in the Moodies success
Wonderful to hear
amazing never ever heard this before
In the US, this song was slowly inching its way up the Hot 100 during the time that America's "Sister Golden Hair", Ace's "How Long" and John Denver's "Thank God I'm A Country Boy" were sailing way up there in the #1 spot. I never quite understood how this gem didn't even crack into the Top 40...It's such a great song and truly deserved a #1 position if not at least a Top 10 standing.
Many people in the general population, have a blunted, emotionally deaf interior, that's why
@@Mykee1997Well said. Or in one word, shallow.
This gets even better with age.
it's amazing how this man can write so many different songs that r always seem 2 b pleading 4 something
This is a masterpiece.
One of the most beautiful songs ever recorded in rock ‘n’ roll history. Justin Hayward is a genius.
ur videos are amazing coloradream...thank u so much for posting all of them...the Moody Blues r one of my favorites...sending Blessings ur way
I was very sad to hear that the Moody Blues had broken up. Then one night I wandered into a local club and heard this song on the juke box, and rushed to discover the Blue Jays. I was thrilled that at least some of the Moodys had reformed, and then of course, they did reunite. This is by far my favorite group of all time. And this song is one of their best. Strong voices, great instrumentals, songs you can sing, and understand the lyrics, with such meaning.
Another masterpiece from Coloradream! The Moodies are still as timeless as ever.
I dreamt this song was recorded with Garth Brookes and Kate Bush. For real.
Where did THAT one come from. Awesome job!
The sound of their voices are so beautiful with the music is enchanting.
Excellant video. One of my favorite songs.
Kudos
Your voice tugs at my heart, may we meet in our travels.
WE WILL MY DARLING......
BE PATIENT MY LOVE.......💞🕊️🙏😇🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️💞🤗😇🙏
So Great 5***** LG :-)
This is so captivatingly beautiful..better and better the more I listen...really stunning!! " Oh let me show you now"(pure magic)~~
great music and lyrics, one of the best bands of the last 40 or more years !
When I think of a voice that can soothe anxiety and quiet the soul, that would be Justin Hayward who sings from a depth of the 💓 heart never previously reached before.
It’s amazing how many great songs Justin writes!
I bought this album when it first came out, and replaced it on cd when I had to leave my albums behind. Loved it then, love it now, like all their works. Justin Hayward has one of those voices that is instantly recognisable even if you don't know the song, and the music he sings with and without the rest of the band soars in a way that is totally unique, utterly magical and completely unforgettable.
lost a lot of my albums when I moved - still have a few of Justin's Albums and some Moody Blue's Albums
Fabulous!! Brings back a flood of wonderful memories.
This is brilliant with fantastic vocals by Justin Hayward. I loved it when it was first released and love it even more now. Knocks almost 40 years off my age when I hear this. Brilliant. Just Brilliant.
Aslam
I know exactly what you mean ;-)
53 yrs old here, and it takes me back to being 14 all over again !
Marcia Brown Hi Marcia - I have always been a Moody Blues fan and loved Justin Hayward's vocals on most of their albums. I first heard them when I was at Uni (Nights in White Satin started me off on following their work) and even now when I listen to their albums, I always seem to pick up something new - amazing for 60 year old ears!!!
I totally understand :-)
Marcia Brown This is the magical gift music gives us. It takes hold of the most treasured memories we will ever make in our lifetime. Those of our youth and it grabs hold of them and puts them in the safest place possible.......within the music itself. And we have immediate and easy access to those memories. Just listen to a song. How does one thank those responsible for such a gift.
Exactly....:-)
Justin Hayward with the moody blues, the group is just like they were made to sing for the Angels in Heaven, BRAVO! !!!!
I love his voice - such emotion. My fave is Question, which I think he wrote.
Yes, he did.
One of the best voices ever! Love him!
+Leah F. The best Song ever!!
Saw the Moody Blues last month at Birmingham UK. Graham Edge is in his 70s, and Justin and John not far behind - but they can still thrill and entertain an audience with a great concert...
Justin hayward was born 10/14/46 so he's 75 now.
"The sweetest of all sounds is that of the voice of the woman we love."
Jean de la Bruyere

Will
Have always loved this sonata.....reminds me of my family through 4 generations who have loved the Moody Blues and The Blue Jays.!!
What a loving legacy! You are blessed!
wow!!! thanks coloradream :)
just lost my wife and i dreamed last night i was hearing her voice
xxxx romantic song
I really needed to hear this song. Especially in light of what is going on in our country. To me it was a timely message.
Yes. Such a peaceful respite here with Justin.
Don't worry. The Communist left, that has so many aging hippies now in thrall to it's deceitful Globalist message, WILL be defeated. We will regain control of our own unique Western cultures. (including the unique English Culture that gave us the Moodies)
Being true to oneself is a feeling,
an experience and a threshold
to step through....
i love this song. it spells it all out. it is so sweet and lovely and wonderful, stays in my head.
I was 11 years old when my sister came home and played The Moody Blues song, Night In White Satin. Justin Hayward had answered an ad in the U.K. newspaper asking for a possible lead for the Moodies. We all know how much he brought to the group and when the Moodies took a well deserved break in the early 1970,s, John Lodge and Justin put together a solo album, Blue Jays. This song to me, is a song a man would play to the woman he loves. When I hear this song, it reminds me to love my wife that much more. It,s only my opinion, but I believe this is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.
Such a beautiful video
I wish the moody blues or Hayward and lodge could have played at the queens party at the palace for her platinum jubilee this June.
Had to listen to this again
Wonderful video, extraordinary mix of visuals and this great Blue Jays melody. Thank you, my friend.
An unsung masterpiece I believe, the Blue Jays album showing all the writing strengths of the Moody Blues plus Justin and John's vocal mastery.
Eight people clearly have no taste in music. Great song, charming video, Justin Hayward has such dulcet tones.
you are so right.
It's this generation man. Don't know shit!
Music sucks today
Great adjective for his voice ❣😃
43 now, bound to be more but no accounting for taste, or in their case lack of. One of the very best voices / songwriters / band that has eve4 lived. Thank you.
Timeless and Amazing !~
This song is especially beautiful, a gift from the Gods.
what a song, nothing like it today!!!!!!
Beautiful job, Sir. You're quite an artist!Best Regards -- Leum
Oh I dreamed last night that I was hearing your voice, "don't be afraid, don't be afraid."
Let it go. ..set it free!
You who dislike this, have no love in your hearts.
Don’t blame them, feel pity!
They fool you when they walk upright.
True romantic singer.
Very nice .
Great job and a beautiful song! I felt like I died and went to heaven.
Thanks and Merry Christmas!
He did do that. He is very old.
@elinorvonzahm me too saw them in october cant wait to see them again but there not so young, going strong but how long can they last.
When Graeme Edge, the Moodies drummer, retired in 2018, many of us fans were hoping Justin Hayward and John Lodge would do a Blue Jays tour just playing the whole album. Alas they went on their solo tours. 🥰🙏🏼🎸🇬🇧🇺🇸
Beautiful video thank you
This song is sung by Justin and John
ANOTHER FINE JOB AND I APPRECIATE YOUR ARTISTIC TALENTS! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Got this album in 75 & still bring it out every now & then.
I still cant understand how the Moodies have not made the hall of fame
8 Track
Fortunately Ray Thomas lived just long enough to hear the news. Long overdue.
Howard Stern agrees. Shame on the hall of fame.
