    THANK YOU! I own 14 Moody Blues albums, and have been listening to them since 1967 (well, since 1965, if you count "Go Now"). I have been aware that Justin & John recorded an album together as "The Blue Jays." But, this is the first song I've heard from the album. WONDERFUL!

Such a beautiful group and they perform such beautiful music to this day. Please compare this beauty with the complete crap that passes for most music these days! HOF for the MB's!!! Lamar

    K.D. you are so right about the manure abounding on the radio these days and for the past 30+ years. It all became so commercial. DJ's have no discretion about their play lists. I quit listening to the musical side of radio a long, long time ago. Don't know how old you are but your comments are smart and correct in my aged mind. Plus++, I like your accompanying photo. You look great. Lamar

    Their talent is incomparable; whether as the iconic legends of rock, The Moody Blues or as solo/collaborative artists. They ALL are truly blessed and multitalented. I love this song. I have the Japanese pressing of this album and the sound is incomparable to any other media. Their vocal quality is perfect for the audiophile lover. Thank you band members of The Moody Blues and to the one who posted this magnificent work.

    I got into music just at the Moodies went solo (My brother had 'This is the Moody Blues" which got me interested), so this album as well as Michael Pinder's The Promise, and Ray Thomas' 2 albums as well as John's Natural Avenue and even Edge's collaborations with Adrian Gurvitz were all surprise finds in the Peaches record bins to enjoy. Then to top things off they added Blue Guitar to the CD version of Bluejays (and others to later CD reissues).
    I'd recommend checking them all out there are some amazing gems (and junk) throughout.
    AND THEN THERE WAS OCTAVE, and the Moodies continue and we now have the Pinder Brothers to enjoy as well.

      Actually Justin was supposed to record the album with Mike to fulfill the Moodies' Decca contract. But then Mike fell in love with Tara and moved to America. Mike was never superfluous, but this beauty here came from Justin's soul.

    "Don't be afraid: God's plans are made."

    But I can hear my Sister comforting me. God's Plans Are Made. Strange how the dying give more comfort than they take.

    The last time I stopped here, I told you people that I was facing a severe addiction. But every time I come back there are more people who are becoming addicted to this. I've been left no options except to sue Justin Hayward in court. He has started me down this road and I can't get off it. He's literally my pusher. And this is no short-term addiction either. What are we 15-20 years out from this record? Yes another thing I'm suing him for. I can't tell whether I'm in time or out of time, or transcended in time. And they, that so called group of his, knew what they were doing! I went to see the group a few times when they said, listen you don't even have to clap. We will blend the songs into each other just sit back. And then at the end telling me thanks for keeping the dream alive. What the hell kind of group was this, some kind of cult or something! I mean now everything's got to have a meaning to me, the words have to mean something. I want to see girls twerking and shit. And that other guy he's complicit in this, that John Lodge guy. First off Justin is not supposed to sing like that. And sound like that, especially live. The first time I heard Justin Hayward I said it's almost like he's got a country twang in his voice. Like that little crack sound, that country singers used for emotion. Like a restless heart recording or Garth Brooks. That was all subterfuge! Cuz Justin Hayward is no country singer. That's the sound of human voice makes when it makes another person cry. And that's another portion of my suit. All I do is cry when I listen to this guy sing. A human is not supposed to sound like that, and then this little partner in crime, Lodge jumps right in and they blend like two angels from heaven. Yeah lodge getting sued too I'll tell you. I mean you think it's fair for someone to sing like that, and then say words like you were locked inside of your secret calling my name? That is wanton disregard of human emotion! And you don't know how but then he's going to show you now. And that guy who was producing them back then, wasn't the name Banks. He's going down too. I mean if you're going to vamp staccato violins with a guy telling you don't be afraid love has a day, and then major scale runs up to a full Orchestra swell and if there's a place and a time to begin again oh my God what the hell is going on! I am a freaking wreck every time I hear this song. And I'm a trained musician! When I sat down to play this song, I assume that there was going to be a myriad of chords, to produce this melody. He's only using two of the three primary chords! Talk about being locked inside of a secret calling a name, as if he was locked into strict classical music, when 1, 5, 4 was all you could use. I thought only Mozart could string a Melody across a 1,5, 4 chord progression like that. Sometimes I might use a cliche rather than say that's beautiful as a fresh falling snow, or the blooming flowers in spring, I say that's just as pure as Justin Hayward vocal! Look what he's done to me. I'm lamenting odes like Keats, to his lover! Well if you're here you can join in my suit too! Because we have the power! And now is hour! Because let's face it, you, me, we are all locked inside our secrets calling his name! Don't make me start on "Nights, Winters, Years"! It's not a pretty sight! (What do you mean, you think I need a medication adjustment, Doc?)

      Who is Justin Haywood?

    • @johndale6356
      @johndale6356 3 года назад

      @@Phoenix85006 Justin Hayward, who is? I can try to explain. Sometimes a lead Vocalist becomes the centerpiece of a rock band. Like if you have ever enjoyed something by the band "Guess Who" whether it was that scratchy vocal of "American Woman", Or that Jazzy almost scatted, melody of "She's come Undone" or the blended "No time, No sugar tonight," You were actually enjoying the Work of Burton Cummings." But in cosmic rockdom, or classical rockdom it becomes a bit foggy as to who the band actually is. I mean you might one day hear a "whiter Shade of Pale" or "Salty Dog" and they are talking about "Gary Brooker" though you are staring at the album and it Says "Procol Harum!" A lead singer sometimes so dominates the band, that most people know nothing of the other members until well latter! (See the Rolling Stones) Or for that matter Randy Bachman. Sometimes the mechanics in the band rebel and throw the Lead Singer out! See Van Halen, David Lee Roth, Sammy Haggar, or even Cherone! Whether the singer initiates the break, or or it's the band tired of playing second, that is usally a latter debate. The singer is sometimes so famously in charge of the sound of the band, it just a stepping stone to a solo career. Gabriel, too surreal, throwed out, Collins, to the front, Stepping stone to a solo, and so on so so on. But in Cosmics and Classical Rock no such problem. They never achieve much commeerical success anyway. But then there were the Moody blues. This lead singer, AND MAIN SONGWRITER, would cross over to mainstream more then a few times. When one first heard Nights, they usally say, " Who the hell is that Singer?" And they find out it's Justin Hayward. Or in reading a ripping of the band for one the their many scathing reviews, usally with something like, "Granted Haywood's vocals are top notch, but nothing new here!" I'm surprised Haywood and vocals have never been mentioned in your reading. But through the years, Gypsy, Story in your eyes, Tuesday, Questions, isn't life strange , have all crossed over to mainstream rock, that even lead singer of the Ramones, once remarked, "I knew I was never going to coin a Justin Hayward vocal, so I went with this!" Johnny Rotten imagine that! But there has never been much Jealousy in the Moody blues camp. Justin Hayward would write 7 songs, Lodge would chip in a few and the others one or two, and nobody left to pursue a solo career. And you had a reign of love for 50+ years topped only by Mick Jaggers band! But everything was built around a Justin Hayward vocal! If you look up synonyms for pure, there's a fresh falling snow, a spring field after a rain, "And as pure as a Justin Hayward Vocal!"
