I could not agree more. These are the only two left of the core (Patrick is still alive but he was not part of the core and I wish that they would let bygones be bygones with him as he revived their career in the 1980s after the disaster that was the 'Octave' "comeback" and Justin particularly loved it).
Unfortunately, as long as the never anything other than evil, pincushion groupie Ann Marie is still breathing (she is not in the best of health, so here's hoping!), Justin will do as he is told by her and he was told to cut ties with John some years ago because her traveling with them (no other wife of the band ever demanded to travel with them) would no longer be funded.
Just to slightly correct you, however, that Justin was 78 last month and John was 81 (in July), not 82,

@CandleLight1974 I'm very interested in a couple of things you've mentioned. Could you please define "pincushion groupie," as I've never heard that term before. You seem to have a fair bit of information about the Moodies' touring life that may not be on the record (I certainly haven't seen what you're saying stated anywhere publicly, not that that is definitive! I'm constantly learning new things about them). Regarding Patrick though, after he sued them I can't imagine anyone burying the hatchet there and continuing on as if nothing happened. They offered him a substantial sum and he refused it, then lost the case and got far less than their offer. So I doubt either party would be in a hurry to rekindle anything there. But your comments about Marie (especially the evil part!) are morbidly fascinating.

This song changed my life !!!! Blue Guitar is my favorite ! I've had 3 different guitars given too me, the 1st one Ole Blue by a stranger ! And 2 more by friends, and they were all blue ! After injuries from a car accident, doctors told me, I would never play or sing again ! Out of the blue, my mom called me one night, to come to her house ! She said a preacher stopped by, and dropped something off ! The story is, a man that I don't know to this day. was awakened from a dream, and told by God, to give his guitar to a man named Earl ! He was led to give it to a man named Skip, who in turn gave it to the preacher, who then brought it too my mom ! She told me go in the living room, and leaning against her couch was a guitar case ! Now mind you years before, I was in a band called Driftwood ( name of a Moody Blues song) I had a blue acoustic/electric guitar, that had a sound of it's own ! I traded it for a straight up electric guitar ! I didn't like the sound of the electric, and went to get my guitar back, and it was sold, and discontinued ! From there it went down hill ! I lived in Virginia at the time, as I had gotten a job, a house, and in a working band , all the same day ! In fact played in the band that night , pretty crazy ! I even had Elvis 1st cousin show up at 2 of our gigs, and he told me, if Elvis were alive, he would be proud to know me, as I do not half bad covers of my favorite artist, including the Moody Blues ! Anyhow, I traveled to New Jersey where I was originally from, to the store I got my blue guitar from, same store where I traded it ! Not long after, the band broke up, and I moved back to Jersey ! One weekend my friend John, who got me the job that weekend, came to Jersey and spent the weekend, with my family and I ! He handed me a cassette tape with tears in his eyes ,and said ! You have to listen to Blue Guitar, as he knew my heart was broke after losing my blue guitar ! He said, I wonder if Justin Hayward had a dream about you, when he wrote it ! hahaha So some years later, after the accident, not being able to even hold a guitar, imagine a stranger giving me one, and in my mind, I thought, there is no way I can play it ! So I walk over, and open the case, and there is this beautiful BLUE acoustic/electric guitar , better than the one I had lost years before ! Wowww ! I went home, and placed the guitar in a chair, and went to bed, thinking. I'll never play again ! Around 3 a.m. as if someone whispered my name, I woke, sat on the edge of the bed, looked at the guitar case, then went over and opened it ! I took the guitar out, went over and sat on the bed ! As soon as I put it in my hands, I was able to play better than I ever had, in fact wrote a song right then and there , called I'll Say A Prayer ! Crazy right ? I'm sorry for the long comment, and I understand if you remove it ! But I just wanted to say how thankful I am, for the music of Elvis, and The Moody Blues, especially Justin Hayward, and John Lodge ! I grew up listening to Elvis, because Mom always had a stack of his albums on the record player, and my dad, who opened for Patsy Cline when he was 15, was dubbed , The Elvis Presley of the East Coast ! But then Elvis passed, and I heard Nights In White Satin, and was hooked on The Moody Blues ! Something I realized, when all of this hit me, after getting Ole Blue, as my friends call him hahaha ! IS Elvis' last album was called Moody Blue , and was a blue vinyl album ! So there you have it ! Thank you again, Justin, and John for the song, Blue Guitar , and also the song My Brother, that my buddy John also dedicated to me ! The song explains me to a T ! I've lived the life, of some of your songs, unaware until Ole Blue came along ! And Justin ! One day a few years back , I saw you, the girl playing keyboard, and the younger guy that played guitar, in a little theater in Delaware or Pa. ! After when I went outside, I was the crazy guy that held up traffic, so your tour bus, and band trailer could back down the side street to load equipment ! Not realizing, that a certain SUV I held up, was in fact, you and your driver hahahahaa Sorry ! This is Ole Blue and I , about 10 years ago, with my band The Cartunzz ( cars and tunes), not bad after being told I would never play or sing again ! Thank you again Justin, for being a part of my recovery ! Again sorry for telling my story here, and how you inspired me ! I just felt compelled to share ! At 63 I don't play much anymore, but got back out there for a while to have fun, and make some smiles ! Can hardly walk anymore, but mannnnnn what a ride !
May be an image of 1 person and guitar ( picture wouldn't post ! )

The Moody Bluea, as a band , are finished , according to John Lodge, who says Justin doesn't want to continue , preferring his solo work with Mike Dawes and Julie Ragin. ... yes , Andy, and if i were John, I'd be looking at Justin, not quite knowing where and when or how my luck began, but always be so greatfull for the opportunity that this very good fortune continues, and our collaboration keeps on producing such beautiful music as this... Cheers from Dave down under in Australia...

Yeah. Justin played acoustic guitar, Lol Creme & Eric Stewart played electric guitars and Kevin Godley was on drums. This was like 1970. Then after a few years, Justin rediscovered it and the orchestral overdubs and John Lodge’s bass were included onto the track.

I saw JH&JL in 1976 when I was working at the Apollo in Glasgow; this was my Mum's favourite song at the time and I asked them to autograph a programme for her. They not only did, but signed it "To Andy's Mum" - she was delighted with that.

1975; the original recording was made by Justin with the four members of 10cc (Lol Creme, Kevin Godley, Graham Gouldman and Eric Stewart) at Strawberry Studios in Stockport, with Tony Clarke and 10cc producing. Released by Threshold under the Blue Jays name. Lodge actually didn't play on the session, but does in live performance. A great song, nonetheless.
