- What would a Mexico update look like if it were added to RDR2? I took some images from the first RDR game and overlaid them on RDR2 to give you an idea of what the landscape could look like.

I'd imagine this hypothetical conversation is (symbolically) very close to the real reason Dan left. Look at what he and his brother had created; a once incredible icon and industry leader diminished to a predatory succubus hellbent on draining the consumer dry of all money for little reimbursement. Fuck the way the gaming industry is headed... It saddens me to my core that GTA 6 and any potential future R* title is most likely going to be a shallow world for single player, locking all the content into multiplayer. For example, not long after GTA Online was becoming incredibly profitable, R* removed the option to buy new weapons and vehicles from the story and made them all online exclusive (this was to incentivise micro-transactions as you'd either; have to grind the fuck out of the missions to get enough or, just drop $20 on a shark card). Don't even get me started on that bullshit "remaster" of the original GTA 3D Trilogy...
Edit: Also, consider that R* have still not updated RDR2 with a "Next-Gen Patch" (It could honestly be as easy as upping the frame-rate) and are, instead remastering a near-10 year old game instead...

Those must have taken ages to line up. I heard take-two will be at E3 this year. Maybe they will announce a red dead 1 remake and we can finally explore Mexico in it's original form.
GTA V on the PS5 will probably be revealed, showing off actual gameplay on the PS5 rather than old trailers mashed together

3 months later and we didn’t even get a screenshot from the Expanded & Enhanced version of GTA V.

@@prefersdocile9688 No it wouldn’t take them so much time, the map from the 1st game is almost fully recreated in RDR2, Nuevo Paraíso is the only area that still needs some tweaks here and there. They just need to finish that and recreate the story missions, the audio can probably be tweaked too and reused (but I’m not sure)

With how many times i beat rdr2 and the amount of times i glitched over to mexico and guarma, nowhere else in the game does the mexican music play except in mexico on rdr2. Just imagine they remaster the first rdr and add it as a story expansion. But thats my opinion, if they coded the music to play in mexico, they WILL eventually add mexico back either as a story expansion or just as the landmass itself, we will never know
I think the music is just a left over file, since there's actually sound files from the cities in RDR1 where you can hear the ambience with dog barks in Mexico on RDR2. It's almost 100% known that the map got imported and reworked from RDR1 to RDR2... I think it's unlikely R* will ever add Mexico into the game, since there's only a small team left apparently to take care of RDO, hence the lack of updates. There's simply not enough work force or effort being made with RDR2 right now. But a man can dream...

Even though Mexico is my least favorite part of the original game, I loved the map and landscape of it and the ambience and everything. If it was remastered or added as an RDO expansion it would be amazing, but it won’t sadly

It's possible to add mexico buildings straight from RDR1 onto RDR2 using the map editor, it's been confirmed by some modders, someone just needs to step in and start converting.
Take-Two would step in and put a stop to it before it was even finished.

I would like rdr three or red dead four to be about javiers journey before he fell in with the van der Linde gang and add all the more tragedy to his story as well as show us more Mexican states. It would also fall into the same theme of the red dead redemptions by showing the corrupt government and what they do with their power.

...Porfiriato goin on in Mexico at this time (till 1911)...bringin law to the lawless lands could be interesting, for they did it with American help...1911 and onwards was the time of Pancho Villa and Zapata so Jack could also go to Mexico...at this time Mexico was lawless too, and this time is was the Americans who put an end to it...modernization and automobiles killed the west and Jack could do it as a Ranger, hunting outlaws like Reyes...
In an ideal world we would have a new Single Player DLC with Sadie visiting Mexico. But unfortunately we dont live in that world. The best we can hope is an Online expansion. And if R* has a lil bit of respect left they will someday, but Im not holding my breath.

Honestly I don't think Rockstar are ever gonna add mexico to the game. Although the area looks detailed, my guess is Rockstar originally intended to add Mexico to the game then they scrapped the idea because maybe they felt it's unnecessary to add it, I mean look at New Austin it has nothing to do with RDR2 storyline and it can be only accessed in the epilogue. So no wonder they abandoned Mexico.
They should add it for online though

l don't think they will add it regardless if it's is Online or not. However if they add it on Online you can easily access the finished map on Singleplayer through mods (like Trainers and Mod menus) it would be awesome to see. Therefore it's very unlikely to Rockstar just complete the map since they removed it cause of the console limitations l suppose. Perhaps on next gen consoles and PC??
Still, even if all of that happens, l don't think they will. Aside, Red Dead Online has "failed" on Rockstar's view, they can't milk a lot of it.
If you go to Basement Gamer bros then go to community scroll down for a bit he asked if we would like to see a Mexico fan remake mod but I don't know if it's being made.
Actually rdr2 map is just an import, modified, enhance, and added extra sizing to house the east part [new area] of the map. The Mix part area was deleted cause there has no use for it/no good script/stories. Also recreating rdr1 in 2 would be a lost of income, no one would buy the old games.
