- Tell the truth. Do guitar companies pay you to say good things about them?
As someone who is bad at guitar, did it make you nervous to start a RUclips channel about guitars?
I thought you said to never buy anything from China, but you have an Eastman. Way to be a hypocrite.

You deserve at least 100k subs. By far the most original guitar channel.
🙏🙏
I agree
New here....glad I found you. Refreshing level of content. Not so damn hipster that it hurts, and not will it chug. I like it.
Absolutely love your channel. Beautifully crafted, humorous and congruent. Please continue to do what you do... I came across your channel because of our mutual appreciation of guitars, but yours is actually one of my favourite channels because of your humour and integrity.
Love the Q&A, good stuff Mike!
Thanks!
new subscriber here. I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm loving it so far! and I think you're an awesome player! haha
Thank you!
I really like your content. You're charming and funny and obviously you've thought about the narratives. I hope you keep it up.
Thank you! Really appreciate that.
What a gem of a channel 😂 love every video
Thanks!
I really like your channel and your honesty. I like the fact that you are not pretentious like many other channel.
Thanks!
Loved this format! Thank you for this video and answering my question 👍. I appreciate the time you put in on these. I really feel like you offer something totally different and unique to the RUclips guitar community. Keep doing you!
Appreciate it!
Love this channel, great video as always and for what it’s worth I would totally drop some cash on a “Start at the neck and work your way down” hoodie!
Thanks!
You have a good thing going here I think, I like the content.
Stumbled across your channel just a couple weeks ago. You’re very engaging. Keep up the good work. I’m on a similar trajectory with my guitar adventure. Except my hiatus was a tad longer. Well, actually it was a ridiculously long 30 years. But hey, I’m back! What style of music do you enjoy playing the most? Guilty pleasure band? Have you discovered Elixir strings yet? Thanks 🤘🏻
That's quite the hiatus! I guess what I play the most is some version of rock/pop/blues stuff. Guilty pleasure is Taylor Swift's 1989 (I hate myself for this). I definitely like Elixir strings but usually use Ernie Ball.
Thank you for answering my question, it was arguably the most important one.
CRASH
Like you, I was really into cycling and bicycles. So much so, in 2013, I quit my day job and went to work learning the rope of the bicycle industry by working in a bike shop. In 2010 I opened my own shop. In 2011 I found it hard to find time to go riding so I commuted by bike 15 miles each way to my shop. In 2015, I on the weekends, the last thing I wanted to see was a bike. Long story short, in 2018 I closed my shop, sold my bikes and bought a pair of hiking boots for exercise. So, be careful. Not always a good thing to turn a passion into a job.
Agreed. This is definitely not my job.
I swear, you must be my cousin or something. Total match on sense of humor and love for guitars. Say, where did you get that wonderful Eastman DC? They seem pretty thin on the ground. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! I got mine on Reverb from a shop in Miami. Just got lucky one day.
Regarding the first question, I am gonna assume the asker meant no ill will by it. What's "good at guitar"? Good enough that I've followed an subscribed. Good enough that you are here. Where is their channel? From one guy that isn't good at guitar to another...I enjoy your content.
This is a weird question....whats the color of your walls? I really really like it. Also makes those yellow and reds pop.
Oh and keep on keeping on. Love your content.
Thanks! I used a really dark blue-grey paint.
Hello! Another great video! Btw.I am sorry for spamming every video you make with comments but I really appreciate them. Also, I was just wondering what is that half-built Telecaster in the background? It was in the last video as well, are you going to build another one or you took apart an old one? Thanks a lot and have a great day! 😊
Comment as often as you want! All of this is because I wanted to make a fun community of guitar people. The Tele in the background was the first electric guitar I bought a few years ago. It's a Mexican Standard. I've used it to try out different pickups, and right now it's just waiting for the next bit of surgery I do on it.
@@guitarmovies Okay, thank you! I just thought it might be a bit annoying to see comments from the same people all the time 😅 Interesting, thank you! I bought a Mexican Player tele a while ago and I really like that sound (after a slight modification). 😊
my guitar channel my subs stay the same no matter what your doing good !
My brother walked in and said your a horrible influence on me and my GAS issue. So thanks! :)
Helping people make terrible financial decisions since 2020!
Thanks for answering those questions. I’m late with these, but maybe you could answer them in a future video or in a reply. Date/ place of birth? Mother’s maiden name? Social security number? It’s for a project I’m working on... thanks in advance. 🎸
For sure! I'll get that for you ASAP
@@guitarmovies Much appreciated. Thanks for the videos, keep em’ coming! 🎸
I never thought I would do this. But never say never. FIRST! 😂
😂😂
Why don’t you do a series on getting better at the guitar and tracking your progress?
You mentioned that you want to play more known songs instead of writing ones, but do you know if that will affect your monetization? I've been wondering this for a bit, and you seem like you would know.
It would definitely affect it since music labels are insane about claiming revenue for everything they can.
First question: that person was a dick. You’re good, man. I enjoy listening to you play.
OK here’s my question I’m looking at a Gretsch 2215 it’s got a P 90 and the Gretsch humbucker on the back and it’s really good looking the one I’m looking at is kind of a mint green and I’m looking at a Epiphone Les Paul Junior or Special tv yellow and I like that new coronet by Epiphone I can’t decide between the three please help me. It would be great to see a shoot out between those 3 guitars .
I haven't played those Gretsch models before so I can't offer an real feedback, unfortunately. Personally, I'd probably go with the Special.
I remember when Mike thought I was trolling him, then learned I'm just some autistic dude who makes jokes on the internet. Good times. I still enjoy the content. Sad I missed the Q&A so I could ACTUALLY troll. (That's a joke.)
Amazon being anti-capitalist was quite the take. Thanks for the laugh.
What do you do for a living? How can you spend that much money on expensive gear? What sort of meth lab do you run?
There's a documentary about me on Netflix called Breaking Bad. Check it out.
@@guitarmovies Yer goddamned right.
