Silver Springs was a breakup song about Lindsay Buckingham. Because it was dropped from their album is a big reason they broke up. From an interview of Stevie with People Magazine: “I went to the studio and [bandmates Mick Fleetwood and Lindsey Buckingham] were in the parking lot, and I got out of the car and they said, ‘We need to talk.’ That's never good,” she recalls to PEOPLE ahead of the release of her Rumours-inspired Barbie doll. Nicks quickly learned that the duo had confronted her to share that they were scrapping her haunting masterpiece - which also happened to be about her recent split from Buckingham, 73. “Do you mean ‘Silver Springs,’ probably the best song I've ever written?” she remembers saying to the pair. “And they're like, ‘Well, yeah. Let's move on with that.’” The slow-build song was axed to make room for “I Don't Want to Know,” another, much shorter product of Nicks’ pen - and one that she was both less fond of and less emotionally attached to.
It was a crime not to include it but supposedly the run time had no room for it, so “I Don’t Want To Know” took its place. Interesting, a song they never played live!

@@alkholos Interesting take. Everyone in FM was vital, but I don't think they would have had their success without Stevie Nicks. She's a great singer with the best and most unique voice of the 3 vocalists. The songs would have still been great without her as McVie and Buckingham were stronger songwriters. But she had that front-person charisma that every great band needs.
I've never seen another group of people so willing to stand on a stage in front of an audience, and lean into their trauma, and their remaining love for each other. The way they sang this song to each other at the end is gripping. In that moment there was no audience, no bandmates, just the two of them and the message and stories moving between them.
This was the third concert. Stevie hadn't been thrilled with the other performances and told Lindsey (who was in on production, btw) that she could do it better. And... It’s fascinating to me that a group could write all these songs about each other, make it damn clear it’s about the other person, and still be able to record it and perform it.
Old chick here….back in the late 70’s we couldn’t just pull up a song on Spotify. In order to get this beautiful song, I had to sneak into a “head shop” ( where they sold bongs and weed pipes) . They had a small vinyl record section in the back. This song was on the B-side of a 45. I paid probably $2.00 at most. I put the 45 in my backpack and biked all the way home on my 10-speed bike. I played this song over and over on my crappy little record player. Back then, it was like finding gold ! Few people even knew about this song bcuz it was never released on their album. Finally, years later, Stevie re-recorded this treasure and released it to the world. THANK YOU for FINALLY reviewing this masterpiece. Lifetime Stevie Fan ❤

Food for ears, I hope!
I was fortunate to have been in the audience to see that performance live. The electricity in that studio following this track was palpable. Everything from the history of this song being cut from the original Rumours LP due to album time constraints to Lindsey & Stevie's rocky relationship...all laid bare in that moment. Superb analysis...a truly memorable experience.
Nah... breaking that woman's heart was the absolute wisest business decision he ever made... earned him (and everyone else in the band) truckloads of cash. Every time Stevie's heart was broken, they would all call their accountants to prepare them for another huge infusion of dough.
@@timtam79 Oh, of course: he controlled her decisions, not she -- because she's "liberated" and a "strong women" -- therefore he is responsible for her actions. Who was "controlling" -- him being open about his position, or she with a multi-foot thick wall of head-games and manipulations? And he was so controlling that she --- it was Mick Fleetwood's band? -- later fired Buckingham from the band. Has she grown up since then?

This is the first time I’ve watched in live, until now it’s just been a song that I enjoy when listening to their music. But after watching the music video the emotions of this video have changed my thoughts on it, truly, unbelievable. The vigor behind her signing and soft and smoothness of his guitar solo. Beautiful.
I always drop tears by the end of this performance, when she starts casting her spell and looking at Buckingham, you can see her cheeks get flush, one of my favorite live performances of all time. Unbelievable.
Silver Springs was the B side to Go Your Own Way if you're old enough to remember 45 records. It was not on the album. Stevie, Lindsey, and Christine brought it to a new level in The Dance. One of their best performances ever.
That's how if first experienced it, on a 45 B side. It blew me away. It's been my favorite of since the 80s. Yes, I think there is a note of vengeance and bitterness but not as much as in the orginal because her voice has mellowed over time. Still, the obvious anguish is heartbreaking even now.
Where I lived Silver Springs was #5 on the charts (Go Your Own Way #1) Go sold out and had to be repressed, and they decided to put Go on both sides. As soon as it was announces Springs was not going to make the album there was a huge rush as everyone went out to buy the single (all of which was credited to GO). But it left room for The Chain, so it worked out.
Probably top three greatest live performances of all time, just for the weight of the message and who's delivering it. Stevie Nick's doesn't even care where she is and is probably only slightly aware of her surroundings once she starts singing. Perfection.
@cklux2011 Wowwww. I’ve always wondered, did everyone in the audience realize how profound this moment was? I don’t think I would have, personally btw so no judgement, lol. But now that we all get to watch and analyze it we get to appreciate…
It doesn’t matter how many times I watch this performance, I’m always in tears by the end. Stevie lets him have it, and he just nods at her, like ‘come on, let it out.’ That wasn’t contrived, not even a little. There’s another performance of this song out there from the same tour where she does lose it at the end. I understand. I don’t know if I’ll ever get over the heartbreak of leaving an almost 30 year marriage bc he cheated. I’m right there with her, ever single time.
I remember when Rumours hit the world. Stevie Nick's was a movement on her own, she sent the band into the stratosphere. Definitely the IT girl of the 70s. Others like Ann Wilson and Linda Ronstadt and Olivia Newton John were phenomenal singers too
The Who and Fleetwood Mac were both amazing bands with lots of internal conflict, struggle within the band ... And bands that monopolized on this conflict, especially in the live show.
@@FHLeghorn No! Christy was an amazing talent for sure but Fleetwood Mac had been around for a long time before Stevie and Lindsy joined and they hadn't had any hits. They didn't go platinum until the writing of both Lindsy and Stevie and the emotional power and distinctiveness of Stevie's voice.
Elizabeth this is my favorite reaction you have done. I am 63 and heard this song a hundred times. It still gives me chills every time I hear it along with a tear!
I was there that night on the Warner Bros Lot for this concert. It was a magical night. This song, Stevie is singing about Lyndsey and their heartbreaking relationship & break-up. And when you see her looking at him singing in that powerful emotional voice and he's looking back at her....Oh my, and caught on tape for us to see and feel forever. I'll never forget that night.
I love your facial expressions when hearing Stevie’s voice. You just get wrapped up in her voice like a snuggly hug and can’t help falling in love with that woman and her soulful amazing voice. One of the best rock singers ever. One of the best bands ever.
Live, Midnight Special, 1976. ruclips.net/video/goKM7jsOwrg/видео.html My Fleetwood Mac live performance rankings, 3. The Chain, the version you reacted to earlier. 2. Silver Springs, the version from this reaction. The same video as "The Chain" you reacted to. 1. Rhiannon, the 1976 Midnight Special performance. Later performances are much different. Still remarkable, but not extraordinary in the way the 1976 version is. The rumor I've heard is that she changed how she sang to protect her voice since the intensity she reaches in '76 was too much.
This songs absolutely breaks my heart every single time. This is my all time favorite version, watching them look at each other while performing live is just gut-wrenching. "You'll never get away from the sound of a woman that loves you."
Stevie Nicks is a world treasure. Amazing singer and songwriter...I used to sing it to my now husband we were boyfriedn and girfriend as a young couple, when I was really scared of falling in love and so, broke up with him. 18 years after, we got together again and got married, thanks to Stevie`s lovely and powerful spell song Silver Springs...I sang it over the years as a mantra
Guys walk away from Women because they give up on trying to work them out...real life romance is not like a song....18 years is far too long that you took from him...your lucky he took you back...i stopped dating at 40...now im 60 and wonder what it would have been like to find a gentle caring soulmate...when i was young !
Never have the history of the broken romance in a band, the lyrics of a song, and the performance of the two ex-lovers during the playing of that song been captured live. Lindsey’s melancholy solo, Stevie’s voice, and both of them turning towards each other at the end. One of my favorite songs and performances ever.
I doubt AI could ever come close to Fleetwood mac performing "im so afraid" Lindsey's solo is full of emotion, such a great vocalist and amazing on that guitar
This song, specifically this live version will forever live rent free in my head, and it will never stop giving me goose bumps and tears in my eyes. I haven't loved and lost like that, but unreciprocated love is also painful and this just punches my gut every time (and I love it!) One of the best songs/performances ever.
Christine McVie is a very underrated part of this group. Her incredible voice. Her incredible talent in general, but I love her piano playing. It’s just ethereal.
The moment when Stevie Nicks turns to Lindsey Buckingham and screams "never get away" over and over gives me chills every time! Also, everything on the "Rumours" album is written from one member to another, back and forth. Both couples in the band were splitting up as they were making this album and basically created a masterpiece.
Silver Springs is one of the greatest live performances I've ever experienced. It's pure heart and soul. The lyrics are haunting, poetic, and visceral. Stevie is a powerhouse and a legendary singer. Your reaction was up to the task of this great song, Elizabeth. Thank you for appreciating its awesomeness!
That's exactly what it is, a cry from deep inside. Breakups fueled the best ever work Fleetwood Mac ever did. There were only two women in rock that I wanted to just sit on a couch with them, having a nice cabernet sauvignon and let them sing to me. That's Stevie Nicks and Grace Slick
A million years ago, when I used to sell hifi and home theatre, this clip was on a high res demo DVD, so I probably listened/watched this 3-4 times a day for 3 years. It speaks to the power of the song, and the performances, that I'm not completely sick of it, but actually still love the song. As someone else said in a comment, Lindsay knows that Stevie needs to direct the last verses right at him, and gives her the target that she needs. She's the queen for a reason.
She is literally shouting it to his face on stage, giving him a death stare... There was one concert on this tour that Stevie got so intense and emotional singing this that she completely froze on stage with her back to the audience, and Lindsey had to do the last verse of the song. After it was over Stevie was just there, frozen and sobbing. They had to take her back stage for a while, completely pouring down in tears...
Their live performances of "The Chain" from 1982 and 1997 and the way they fuel each other in their ad-libs and emotion is truly incredible. The 1982 live performance may be one of the most visceral performances I have ever seen. The amount of primal emotion during that performance is very uncomfortable to watch while at the same time, being extremely beautiful. But the 1997 performance feels quite different in that it feels more painful and regretful but is equally beautiful. One of my all time favorite bands.
Just absolute brilliance. And Lindsey's guitar work is so underrated. His talent for songwriting and weaving that fluid guitar in and out of the spotlight is legend. No flash, all substance.
I've listened to this recording probably a couple hundred times by now, and somehow, I'd never caught that little waver on the final phrase that sounds like she's holding back tears. Incredible. Thank you for your attention to those little details.
This is one of the greatest performances in all of rock n' roll history. I could go on and on about all of the things that make this a complete masterpiece.
@JLKeener77 same!! And every time I watch I come up with more reasons, it’s so stunning. We’re all so lucky this was captured for our rewatch and analyzation and appreciation 😊
They are incredibly talented song writers & musicians. They take their life’s ups and downs and turn it into something so musically beautiful. RIP “Christie” McVie.
I remember seeing the VH1 Behind the Music on Fleetwood Mac and they described that while Christine and John kept their divorce private, Lindsey and Stevie made their breakup public by bleeding on vinyl with these amazing songs.
This song blows me away it's mesmerising!!! Beautiful sensitive gorgeous, piano and harmonies from gorgeous Christine , and wow !! It's palpable what is going on there between Stevie and Lindsay ! Just incredible emotion... Stevie really going for it...... ❤
John McVie is a true bassist's bass player. He plays only what the song requires and nothing more. He is frequently understated, but provides the bedrock the rest of the band launched from.
This performance brings tears to my eyes every time. Stevie was quite hurt when the song was cut from the studio album for lack of space, it ended up a b-side. Lots of emotion in this band at the time. In the CD age it got restored.
There is another live video of this song being performed on RUclips where Stevie loses it at the end, Lindsey goes over to hug her, and Christine has to sing the last line to complete the song. Chilling.
This song Stevie wrote for Lindsey Buckingham and when she sings it direct to him in this performance....it gets me every time. He broke her heart and those words are right from her heart to him.
This particular live concert film cemented their place in history. It's both a perfect comeback, and a distillation of what the band had been and still was.
I’ve been playing guitar for over 18 years and Lindsey has always been in my top 5 all time favorite players, he is so unique among thousands of amazing guitar players out there, his smoothness and warmness to his tone is largely due to him playing with only his fingers , he never uses a pick to play, that’s always been a trademark for his sound and technique.
It’s a quite fine group of musicians. Stevie’s voice has tons of personality, Lindsay is one of the most musically gifted guitarists and Mick’s drumming is always great. Great musicianship combined with all that chemistry between the members of the band is a such a brilliant combination.
Anyone who thinks this is just theatrics must not be aware of the last time these people got together 10 years earlier (10 years AFTER "Rumours.") Lindsey and Stevie got in to a physical altercation at a band meeting (hitting, choking!), Stevie screaming "You broke my heart!" that was followed by Lindsey leaving the band. Coupled with the history of the song rarely being performed live and being left off the LP if you think the emotions should have been gone by then you just don't get it.
That raspy rockin' voice is why she's the only woman to ever be inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame TWICE. Once with Fleetwood Mac, and then again for her solo work. Nobody... and I mean NOBODY sounds quite like Stevie. You could play a track with her singing that I've never heard before and I could instantly tell her from all the other female singers on this planet.
I saw Stevie live in Dublin last week. At 76 years young she was spectacular. A privilege to witness such a songwriter and performer. She spoke lovingly about all the relationships in the band over the years, about losing Christine, connecting to a life of incredible creativity.
It’s amazing that this song is so angry, yet they also sang Landslide that same night and they were hugging each other at the end of the song. True talent
Of all the legendary songs from Fleetwood Mac, this lesser known gem is my favorite. Beyond just the heartbreaking emotion from Stevie, Lindsey's guitar solo is what brings me back time after time. Goosebumps all around, everytime. Pretty sure this was Stevie's revenge for Lindsey's Go Your Own Way.
My favourite part of the song is the chorus. The emotion in the verses: Sadness - *"Time casts a spell on you, but you won't forget me! I know I could've loved you but you would not let me!"* then later anger! She's pissed off at Lindsay over something - *"I'll follow you down 'til the sound of my voice will haunt you! You'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loves you!"* The more the song continues, the more angry she seems, the more *forceful* she sounds as she sings these verses. I always end up crying by the time the song is over. 😥
Yes, Stevie and Lindsay exchange a LOT of Emotion, now Old but never lost its razor edge... But Lindsay is also the "Conductor" of the whole Show, and the entire band watches him for cues about timing, tempo, keys etc. He's quite excellent at guiding them all into this Emotional Plateau, yes?
I LOVE watching Mick play the drums. He plays with such abandon! The look of JOY on his face when she paused the video tells the story perfectly. Also, why, oh why do people not get that Linsay is staring right back at her without wavering? That his eyes are piercing also.
It’s the Stairway to Heaven of Love songs.... I was on a job with friends long ago in my twenties and this song comes on....I didn’t know I had heard it until the chorus started and I just couldn’t move...I had not “ loved and lost” at that time in my life....but you could feel the pain of that through the song
Saw this tour, it was amazing. 20 feet from stage right, right to the side of Christine's piano. Seeing Mic and John smoking in the tunnel during the Lindsey and Stevie's set by them selves. And a super drunk lady on the front row, right where the spotlights would light her up . It was great. My sister's first ever concert. You need to get Stevie on for Tea-time
"I feel like I just gained a new appreciation for guitar." I was once asked who I thought were the most underrated guitarists. Everyone who knows me would've expected a metal guitarist - but all the really good ones are well known and regarded for it. My answer was Lindsey Buckingham. The dude is absolutely incredible. Check out the interview sometime where he explains how he plays "Looking Out For Love." That sounds like about 5 guitars, but it's just him, and it's all technique. Such an incredible talent. Not just him, either. Each member of this band has more talent in their pinkies than many bands have in the whole ensemble.
I'm a Libra, and a lover of all things love. When I hear this song I crank it up and sing it horribly and think of all my past failed could've been relationships. Bottom line, if it makes the listener do that, it's done is job. It is the perfect song.
This is one of those performances that gets me EVERY time I hear/see it. The raw intensity and emotion are unmatched that seems to always hit the listener like a freight train.
The members of Fleetwood Mac are all consummate professionals. When it is time to perform they Perform, no matter what. That is one of many reasons for their greatness.
The way Stevie and Lindsey just stare at each other during the end of the song is still one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen
Same!
The live version of "Landslide" from this concert is the one that really gets me.
Landslide shows the love and respect they once had. Silver Springs shows the hurt that was still there.

“Do you mean ‘Silver Springs,’ probably the best song I've ever written?” she remembers saying to the pair. “And they're like, ‘Well, yeah. Let's move on with that.’”
The slow-build song was axed to make room for “I Don't Want to Know,” another, much shorter product of Nicks’ pen - and one that she was both less fond of and less emotionally attached to.
The look between the two of them in this song from this performance is what inspired “Daisy Jones and the Six” according to the author.
They left this masterpiece off the album, Rumours, and the decision left Stevie devastated. It's a brilliant song.

A few people? GYOW sold almost a million 45s - all people had to do was flip it over.
I wish i had known...j was never a fan of 45s..but if they had hidden gold like that it would be worth it. As far as your original..replier..turn it over wouldnt have been anyones problem. Back then i could have told to you Stevie Nicks bra size but that 45 was not exactly common knowledge to the 15-20million who bought Rumours..because honestly who buys an album and later the 45 with the same song and an unknown b side and generally B-sides were well ....right B sides...Go Your Own Way is one of my favorite songs ever.. Id think all-timeTop Ten Outros. SilverSprings is a really good song..Id think all-time Top Ten Stalker/Fatal Attraction Songs..Im not sure Lindsay Buckingham gets away with writing those lyrics..I did see him backing slowly away at the end and running down the street with his fiddle guitar strapped to his back .I lost sight when he ducked into a little Bodega...Fiestawood Macket
@@chrisross-fd3fo 😅😅😅 I think that Bodega was somewhere along Sunset Blvd 😂. Thank u for commenting on my first “replier”. I was thinking of responding back to him, but realized that would be 10minutes of my life which I would never get back . He is all over this post correcting everyone’s recollection 🤯. So glad I discovered SS way back then. It’s a gem. Anyways, Cheers 🍻

Old dude here....a few gemstones I've come to find (I'm german. So these might not all be familiar with you. Hopefully.)
The album Buckingham Nicks, for sure. Before they came to be members of Fleetwood Mac.
The album First Base by Netherland's band Babe Ruth. Janita "Jenny" Haan is so amazing! Try: "The mexican".
White Bird by "It's A Beautiful Day". Also released on the solo album from David LaFlamme.
The album Black Magician by Rumplestiltskin. A "supergroup", consisting of Clem Cattini on dr, Herbie Flowers bg, Peter Lee Sterling voc (aka known as Daniel Boone with his song Beautiful Sunday)
The album 666 by greek band Aphrodite's Child with Irene Papas as a guest singer on "eternity".
I learned to dance "free" to the song "Also sprach Zarathustra" by Eumir Deodato. At a party on a farm. A friend had brought his PA in his small Mercedes truck. 2x 1900W. Both towers of speakers taller than us. Police came early, next morning. Citizens from a town, some 3mls away had conplained about "the noise". Haha! We've achived a similar kind of attraction here on my brother's 18th birthday, back in 1981. We where listening to some great music. The city of Pinneberg was, too! (Living up on a hill, here.)
Try find the song Boureè by the great Jon Lord. It's on his album Sarabande.
Some new stuff: Revenant by The Warning. I'm athesist. But...still... Pau (the drummer) is singing. Angelic voice!
You’re sooooo lucky!!!! Wow. I can’t even imagine, so cool.
I would have died and gone to heaven to be at this show
Those are stories you tell your grandchildren 💯💪
The fact they hated and loved each other so much made their music so much better, as bad as that is. She literally is fighting through tears.
Lindsey's guitar solo is his reply to Stevie, and it is full of love, remorse, and tenderness.
I've heard it said by someone else that his guitar solo is his apology to her.
Sounds right to me also.
I sounds pretty correct
Nah... breaking that woman's heart was the absolute wisest business decision he ever made... earned him (and everyone else in the band) truckloads of cash. Every time Stevie's heart was broken, they would all call their accountants to prepare them for another huge infusion of dough.
@@jamesbatcho it's definitely an apology, but he's also telling his side of the story and what he went through too.
RIP Christine McVie. Fly high you beautiful "Songbird!"
Most beautiful song gives me chills everytime
The way Stevie shoots daggers with her eyes at Lindsey gives me chills every time
And his response is that she only wanted to "shack" up -- no commitment. But she certainly wanted his commitment.
Glad I wasn’t on the other side of that stare.
No one tops Gemini women in pettiness and jealousy.
@@timtam79 Oh, of course: he controlled her decisions, not she -- because she's "liberated" and a "strong women" -- therefore he is responsible for her actions.
And I note that she kept her "visions" to herself -- while he did the opposite. So she knew where he stood, but she refused him the equivalent. Who was "controlling" -- him being open about his position, or she with a multi-foot thick wall of head-games and manipulations?
And he was so controlling that she --- it was Mick Fleetwood's band? -- later fired Buckingham from the band.
Has she grown up since then?
@@timtam79 A person can have a "perspective"; that does not _ipso facto_ mean the perspective is defensible.
Her blaming him for her decisions and actions is when so-called "freedom" is actually irresponsibility.
He should have dumped her for that. Instead, later, because HE was "controlling," SHE fired him from Mick Fleetwood's band.
I don't think this band style and vocals will ever be repeated. great to have lived it.
This is my favorite performance of a song ever. Just haunting.
One of the best live performances ever recorded
Agreed! I get choked up in the finale. Such gut-punch lyrics paired with incredible singing.
The best. I can't think of anything better.
Absolutely
This is the first time I’ve watched in live, until now it’s just been a song that I enjoy when listening to their music. But after watching the music video the emotions of this video have changed my thoughts on it, truly, unbelievable. The vigor behind her signing and soft and smoothness of his guitar solo. Beautiful.
100% This whole concert was perfection from every member and sound/recording people.
The way she shouts "Was I just a fool?!!" kills me every time.
"Never get away" with that look in her eyes 🫣
love it!!
@@foreveralone11wthat got to me too
I have heard this song hundreds of times, but seeing Stevie and Lindsay interact during this song takes it to an entirely new level.
Not the most famous of the Fleetwood Mac songs, but this is one of the all time best. Wow, Stevie's voice is incredible.
Here and remember!! ❤❤❤
Yep still have hit and wore the b side out and the a side was no slouch.
Stevie gave the rights to the song to her mom and her mom never got a penny before The Dance.
Perfection.
The only thing harder than performing genuine emotion, is performing THROUGH genuine emotion. Stevie's strength and fortitude transcend humanity.
This was how you perform a song live on stage. Every part of it is BETTER than perfect.
This song hits my heart, particularly since Christine's passing. We'll never see her like again.
A great privilege of my life was being at this concert filmed on a soundstage at Warner Bros in front of a live audience.
Wow!
Praise to the camera crew and producer for capturing this for us all.
I remember as a kid watching this on tv with my parents and thinking about how awesome they were
@cklux2011 Wowwww.
Is the other version on you tube?
Stevie was the "IT" girl for me growing up in the 70's. For such a disfunctional band, they were amazing.
McVie was the powerhouse talent. She just wasn’t as pretty.
Stevie is still very much an "IT" even to this day that woman is a queen. (And that is taking nothing from Christy who was a queen in her own rights
Stevie and Lindsey will be doing this dance for many more lifetimes…
I love your facial expressions when hearing Stevie’s voice. You just get wrapped up in her voice like a snuggly hug and can’t help falling in love with that woman and her soulful amazing voice. One of the best rock singers ever. One of the best bands ever.
Next Stevie: Rhiannon live in her youth in the late 70s - Absolute force of nature.
100% !
Amen to this! Those Rhiannon performances are the best
1 million times YES!!!
Yes, the 1976 Midnight Special performance is amazing.

My Fleetwood Mac live performance rankings,
That emotion is decades of love, heartbreak and experience emanating from Stevie Nick's.
This songs absolutely breaks my heart every single time. This is my all time favorite version, watching them look at each other while performing live is just gut-wrenching. "You'll never get away from the sound of a woman that loves you."
To really appreciate Stevie's vocal abilities, please watch Fleetwood Mac's "Rhiannon" performance from the "Midnight Special" next
That is an amazing performance!
Rhiannon has to be done in this channel
Awesome jam
I think they actually hugged at the end of that? Not sure though.
YES! That performance is astounding.
@@romemancer7905 - Why did anyone "like" this women blaming nonsense . . . ?
I love the way Stevie and Lindsey rehash their old relationship on stage whenever they're together. Some feelings just can't go away.
One of the best live performances of a song EVER! So thrilled that you chose this one to react to!
This was, hands down, the most beautiful guitar solo by Lyndsey Buckingham that I have ever heard in my 67 years of life!
I could never decide if i liked the studio version or the live version more, but this is one of the greatest songs ever recorded.
AGREED......EVER
That whole show at USC was amazing. It's where I first found Fleetwood Mac. 1998
They’re both great, but I love young Stevie’s voice.
@cliffsmelley5026 yes I love the raw emotion in her voice in the studio version
Agreed. I like this arrangement overall a little better, but both versions are amazing.
Thanks for my favorite song and the Stevie and Fleetwood Mac love.
This song, specifically this live version will forever live rent free in my head, and it will never stop giving me goose bumps and tears in my eyes. I haven't loved and lost like that, but unreciprocated love is also painful and this just punches my gut every time (and I love it!) One of the best songs/performances ever.
"Never get away!" One of the most emotional musical moments captured on video.
@@johnpavlovitzofficial5565 It’s almost like a scene from a Shakespeare play. Wink wink
This song shakes me to the core every time. So much emotion and meaning.
That's a great way of describing it. I feel the same way. Shaken.
The terrible breakup that led to some of the best music ever written.
Christine McVie is a very underrated part of this group. Her incredible voice. Her incredible talent in general, but I love her piano playing. It’s just ethereal.
I just really love your enthusiam for these songs when you find something that truly blows you away.
Not Ann Wilson, too?! 😊
If we're restricted to 2 and the 70s, it would be Stevie and Linda Ronstadt at her barefoot and no panties under a mini skirt best.
I'd have to include Suzi Q and Stevie
Replace Grace Slick with Linda Ronstadt.
Joni for me, please.
Perfection ❤❤❤❤
Hes one of the best guitar players that doesnt get the credit over far less tallented players.
Lindsey Buckingham's finger style technique will never be duplicated. A true original in the world of guitar.
Amen!!
Hi, his wonderful style is what you get from a self taught guitarist. :)
The rhythm section is so brilliant - they provide a dynamic foundation that lets the vocals do their emotional magic.
There's a reason Peter Green chose them. And his playing left space to breathe.
Yes! Thank you for giving props to the rest of the band and their exceptional skill. The rhythm is masterfully done here.
The rhythm section Mic and John, the only 2 remaining original members and of course who the band was named after.
Mic Fleetwood and John Mac- vie
John McVie is a true bassist's bass player. He plays only what the song requires and nothing more. He is frequently understated, but provides the bedrock the rest of the band launched from.
@@markmm1066As a bassist I totally agree.. perfect example of not overplaying .. tasteful notes .. more tasteful space.. true pro
This performance brings tears to my eyes every time. Stevie was quite hurt when the song was cut from the studio album for lack of space, it ended up a b-side. Lots of emotion in this band at the time. In the CD age it got restored.
@@frugalseverin2282 I thought it should have been there over several others in the LP.

@@BryanAlaspa Did she not break his, too? Some things are not meant to be.
Your sweet face watching her is really adorable. She’s such a unique talent.
Your reaction to this song is exactly why people should ALWAYS see things through another person's eyes
This particular live concert film cemented their place in history. It's both a perfect comeback, and a distillation of what the band had been and still was.
Oh the piano! Christine McVie was such a great musician and singer too. The entire band! They were magic together!
Lindsey’s guitar still loves Stevie.
I'm not even 2 mins in and bawling. This song is so heartfelt, emotional, and special. It gets me every single time!
Stevie Nicks is easily one of my favorite female singers/songwriters for obvious reasons.
It’s amazing that this song is so angry, yet they also sang Landslide that same night and they were hugging each other at the end of the song. True talent
The whole gig is definetly worth a watch! It's here on YT, I put it on one evening and just had a great time. And the sound is amazing!
The best song ever cut from an album.
This is one of my favorite live performances. The only thing better is watching someone else see it for themselves for the first time!
Tears came to my eyes as soon as I saw Christine McVie. Stevie Nicks is my favorite vocalist ever.
I first saw this concert on a PBS pledge drive & when we got to the end I was riveted by both their expressions!
this is easily my favourite fleetwood mac song. it has so much emotion in it, especially during this performance.
I LOVE watching Mick play the drums. He plays with such abandon! The look of JOY on his face when she paused the video tells the story perfectly. Also, why, oh why do people not get that Linsay is staring right back at her without wavering? That his eyes are piercing also.
I was lucky enough to see them live with Christine and Lindsey and it was epic.
Such a classic song. Beautiful harmonies and haunting lyrics. Stevie’s finest song IMO
They just don’t sing words but they sing emotions that so many can relate to in their lives. Stevie’s voice is so recognizable.
You need to get Stevie on for Tea-time
"I feel like I just gained a new appreciation for guitar."
I was once asked who I thought were the most underrated guitarists.
Tune is called “Big Love” and it’s incredible live.
This entire concert is SO amazing! Christine's finale, Songbird, will make you cry.
The members of Fleetwood Mac are all consummate professionals.
When it is time to perform they Perform, no matter what.
That is one of many reasons for their greatness.
