- Thank you to everyone who was a part of this community in 2020. I appreciate you. I hope you'll come along for more good times in 2021. I have lots of videos planned!

2020 was a difficult year and mental health was a big part of it. A lot of folks who already struggled with mental health decided that the added stress of the pandemic was too much. I’m a big proponent of mental health awareness for a lot of reasons and channels like yours do allow us all a laugh and a escape from all too dark current events. Thank you for that!
It was a rough one for sure. Hopefully things take a turn for the better in 2021.
Whether it's a 10 min video or an hour+ livestream your content and engagement with viewers has provided a much needed form of escapism. This year has been my worst so far and not only because of the pandemic, I'm genuinely thankful for your channel and the effort you put in.
Thanks for being a part of it!
I'd say you've found your own voice among other guitar-related channels. It is always pleasant to watch your videos. Thank you and keep it up!
Thanks!
There comes a point when depression and honest reaction to catastrophic events beyond our control appear identical. I applaud your resilience! We have shared much tragedy this past year, planet wide...there is much that lends hope for our future. Be well, play well😃
Thank you too for making videos that touch our hearts.
And now when I had seen an acoustic on your wall, my ears are itching to hear some warm sounds from it.
It's kind of a dead-sounding guitar, unfortunately. I've had it forever but I don't play it much. Maybe 2021 is the year I finally upgrade my acoustic.
From a nurse that had a rough, long 2020, thank you for all of the good hang time.
Your videos have helped more people than you know, they are a bright spot in a bad time of struggling to keep people alive. I can leave work sometimes excited to see something new from you rather than continue to mull over the day. May seem dramatic but so was 2020... and so far 2021. Thanks for what you do brother!
Thank you. Appreciate that.
I love your channel and it’s one of the few guitar specific channels I follow. I hope this year is better for everyone, and please keep up the good work...your channel is great and much appreciated!
Thank you!
Well, the Sudafed and Whiskey finally wore off and I show up late to the party! Thanks for the video. Many thanks for making the effort to build a community of like minded people who value music, art, and understand how these things aren’t simply distractions, but how we elevate ourselves beyond a mundane physical existence. 🎸
Thanks for being a part of it! And I’m glad you were able to wake up 😂
Jan 2019, in my late 50s, only ever played air guitar, decided to learn guitar to play all my favorite riffs from 1975 to 1980 (mostly 1978 it turns out). Bought an Epiphone LP Custom and played every single day for one year. Had a blast. Jan 2020, saw your Gibson/Sweetwater video. Same day ordered a LP TV Special. It is awesome. Played it everyday. Covid hit, stayed home, bought four more electric guitars (had to get some fenders and an Explorer), an acoustic, a 4 string bass and a 5 string bass, bought and sold all kinds of pedals, learned to solder and built every single StewMac pedal kit, set up a home studio and learned LogicX. I’m still not that good at playing but I amaze my dog and, at times, my wife. Thanks for your videos as they are excellent, creative and very humorous (is that older kid you’ll still see every other weekend a neighbor?) They continue me to inspire me in playing my guitars, something I should have thought to do years ago! Thank you! Can’t wait for your next post!
Damn, you went full guitar crazy! That's awesome.
Whenever I'm feeling low I will still go back to your Sweetwater/Gibson video to help me feel better, it always brings a smile. Thank you for that, hopefully we will all have a better 2021.............
Thanks for watching!
Just something to offer. I found your channel right when things were popping off in March. I had, which is lucky in retrospect, bought a guitar as I wanted to pick up a new hobby after years of too much work. Quarantine happens and I'm stuck inside being bad at guitar.
But it was great to find a channel that was just happy to enjoy the instrument and to do something fun once in a while. It is such a breath of fresh air on youtube. Too much selling gear and other drama on other channels. It was always a treat to have a new vid of yours come on cause its just nice to see another person who enjoys the instrument as much as I do. The community here rocks as well.
Wishing you and everyone here a better 2021.
Thanks, man. Appreciate that.
Well said man. No word of a lie, this is hands down my favourite guitar channel. Looking forward to watching more in 2021.
Thanks for being a part of it!
I really think your beaming positivity brings a lot to the channel. And FWIW there’s many of us who are worse guitarists than you. :)
You have made a significant contribution to the RUclips guitar world. At least in my part of that world. Please keep going.
I shall!
I dig your honesty. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks for that man, keep up the good work. Cheers from Australia!!
Dude, I'm so happy to have found your videos. Love the conversation in all of your videos! 👌
Thanks!
Dude, I'm a born-again player. I spent my 20s on the road and then I went cold turkey for 35 years to make a f*cking living. And I did. And now I'm back. Once again I live and breathe guitar. When I'm not practicing or writing, I'm geeking on RUclips guitar channels. I have my favorites, but I love yours the most. Thank you so much.
Thank you! Appreciate that.
That l/P Special every time I see you with that reminds me of that video with the old love v new love hilarious stay strong my man it’s been tough year for many I lost my son during this pandemic people like you have helped me through this grief stay safe you are a wonderful caring person 🙏
Oh, man. I'm so sorry about your son. I can't even imagine. Thanks for being a part of the channel.
I watched your LP Special video over and over. Even shared with my friends to enjoy... my lust for that guitar was massive, a month ago I finally realized it and own one. IT IS THAT GOOD. I have you to thank for its sweet smell when it comes out of the case. It’s a joy to play. 🤘🏻
New Gibson smell! Love that.
Hi from Cape Town South Africa by the way 🙌🏻
Thanks for all the great content, Mike. And thanks for bringing this community together.
Thanks for being a part of it!
You are able to articulate yourself free of the well- worn guitar cliches often seen on other channels. Not having an agenda keeps it fresh. I'm a bass player!
We all need bright spots in our day, keep making the videos.
Well thank you for putting out the videos, and the guitars, and the content..... but most importantly YOU. You seem like a genuine dude which is getting harder to find these days on YT. So I look forward to what you have planned for 2021 - which is indeed already looking like a continuation of 2021. But... I'll hold out hope. COVID will hopefully burn itself out. We (as in the world) will continue to spin around the sun.
And.... I got a 65' Reverb reissue that is just.... so nice. But now my neighbors hate me. And thats on 3.
That's a killer amp!
Awesome video, thank you!
Love the egoless sincerity of your videos man! Sadly while we're getting on track we're not out of this tough period yet, so I'll be looking out for your entertaining vids to keep on bringing us a bit of much needed light relief, cheers!
Thank you!
Heart felt buddy, all power to you. Hope you have an outstanding year.
Same to you, man!
There's something really special and interesting about your content. I could name a few aspects of it, but I'll stick to the big one: your voice is awesome. You seriously have one of the most listenable voices I've ever heard. Keep using it!
Thank you!
Thanks for making the channel! I happen to appreciate the way you play, it’s clean, wholesome, and pleasant to listen to.
Thanks!
I love that Sweetwater video - so super creative! Hopefully 2021 is good for you personally, and I'll keep watching. I bought 5 guitars in 2020 to surround myself with positive things that make me happy!
Guitar harem! Nice.
@@guitarmovies Now 6! Found an EVH striped guitar this weekend haha
I literally just subscribed to your channel last night but have previously watched a number of your videos. The video quality and general aesthetic is really calming, but honestly it’s your candidness and dry, facetious sense of humor that really pulled me in. I’m not winning any virtuouso awards either so I appreciate your playing. It does me no good to watch someone shred on a guitar I want lol I want to have an idea of how it will sound for ME. Anyways, this is maybe my fifth RUclips comment in 10 years, so just a heartfelt thanks for what you do.
Thank you! Appreciate it.
Thank you so much for the channel and continued content. Best place to be on RUclips.
You'll have to come back on some time!
@@guitarmovies Totally down!
Love your channel!! Keep it up :D
Thanks!
Speaking for me only, I used to watch your videos for your opinions on guitars as it seemed to me we have similar taste in guitars, and music. With that said I have found your videos to be not just helpful but insightful, entertaining and presented in a way that speaks to me personally not simply mentally if that makes sense. I hope this finds you and yours doing well and I for one look forward to all of your content, music, emotional and otherwise!
That is very kind of you to say. I appreciate it.
I just wanted to say thank you for your videos. You inspired me to the point that I decided to build my own tele and I`m really looking forward to do that this year. Also, I really love your videos, I always keep refreshing your channel to see if there`s a new video out `cause they`re really interesting and really fun! And inspiring. So thank you once again! And happy belated new year! :-)
Awesome! Keep me posted on your build.
@@guitarmovies I will! 😊
Fantastic to see your channel is still going as I heavily favor my Tele's and my LP Special as well.
Such awesome guitars.
I just subscribed man. For some reason, I connect with you. Maybe it's cause you look like 2 people I know, in one, lol...maybe it's cause we seem so similar in a way..I dunno. But, I'm glad I'm here and found you. I've started binging your vids now, so screw you and thank you in the same sentence! 😆
Came across your channel looking for info on the Eastman SB55/DC-V. So here's my formal, "Hello." 👋
Ha! Thanks, man. And the SB55 is amazing.
Just subbed. I watched your first video which "randomly" showed up in my feed. It was the Sweetwater & Gibson ruined my life video. Loved it.
I used the quotations around the randomly because I think I am desperately seeking a LP Special (most likely in TV yellow, though I'd be open to other colours) for a P90 option. Every time I hear one played it knocks my socks off. The sound is amazing. And for the record, I am a Fender Strat fan boi (as you are with the Tele). I would like some competition for my 2010 Deluxe. The main issue is that I need to find some budget for it but, I am working on that.
Love my LP Special. I think I’ll put Lollar P90s in it, but other than that it’s perfect.
@@guitarmovies Lollar PUPs = Tasty. A good choice IMHO.
That's your custom build tele, right? That pinstriping looks awesome and it sounds great. I was thinking maybe I wouldn't build one but that axe has me pondering. Great channel; I like the confessional style.
Yep! As more time goes by, that Tele stands out as the best guitar I've ever played.
Thanks man.
Love this vid, you have inspired me! You have amazing content and earned a sub from me, keep it up!!! Thank you for making these awesome vids!!! Keep on rocking🤘
Thank you! Appreciate it
Well said, please don’t stop making videos. Whenever I see a new one I click so fast.
...The only problem is that I keep seeing your LP Special and keep wishing I hadn’t sold mine.😔
YOU DID WHAT? That lady from Game of Thrones needs follow you around saying "SHAME"
@@guitarmovies ...hanging my head now....just don't make me walk naked through Chicago, it's cold
@@eezar21 😂😂
Lovely video... I wish that I'd have come across your channel a couple of years ago. You have many talents... and bizarrely your guitar-playing is probably the least of them, although it's far superior to mine. Your biggest talent - as your philosopher-friend mentioned - is your ability to engage and be 'real' with people. Your videos bring light into a very dark and divided world at the moment... and they make a very real difference. Your remuneration may be non-existent and your guitar-practice may suffer, but your channel connects people. God bless and thanks for your work.
This comment totally made my day. Really appreciate that.
@@guitarmovies Your video made mine.
You good.
Super video! I applauded for $5.00 👏👏
I didn't know it generated an auto-comment. Keep it up my friend and enjoy every moment to the fullest. Also... send me that Telecaster! 😅
@@consciousenergies Thank you! Appreciate that. Happy 2021!
Right now im confused about which guitar to buy, either a les paul or a tele and man you are not helping haha
Anyway, i love your videos. Keep up the good work. God bless you 🍀
Either is an excellent choice!
@@guitarmovies ✌️☺️
Friend said same sorta thing to me. Years since, at my worst, I'd think on what I said, what he heard & how it made me feel & I'd reholster. Twice, so far, so far.
cool tele
dude i feel that, my grandmother surprised me with a LP early 2020 and without it i dont think i couldve gotten through everything. appreciate the content you make!
Grandma of the Year!
The philosopher was Sartre.
Thanks for that comment a few months ago 🙏
@@guitarmovies Thanks for this video. I've been struggling with isolation and my own motivation and feeling like there was no point in trying to contribute to things any more, but this has snapped me out of it and really lifted me too. So right back at you, dude, and the rest of the guys here.
Dumpster fire? Not any more - this is Centralia, PA, or the Ohio River in the 60's.
Turn on the tap & FIRE shoots out. Ugh.
Accurate.
