For some reason, I still really want to see you cover audio interfaces, with some actual amps. Yeah, still beating that dead horse. Just appreciate your take on a lot of stuff.
Of course, as I say this, it’s 9am in the morning, while house is still sleeping. Can’t practice drums or guitar, but with headphones and turning off the monitor, I was able to get an hour of piano practice in. So, it’s understandable why I’m looking at line 6 helix on Sweetwater at the moment. 🤷♂️ I still love amps and acoustic drums though. Don’t see that changing.
You don't suck at guitar. You just do what you do.
Hard to say they both sound equally beautiful
I find the V more appealing but I don’t think it does anything better than the Les Paul in this setting. Glad to see someone with humility reviewing nicer guitars. Speaking as a man who owns gear far beyond my what talent level deserves, I appreciate your perspective.
Flying V if you want more "attack" and a bit brighter Guitar sound and a cool looking guitar, LP if you want a "warmer" sound ,natural playing position and a classical looking E Guitar. The V looks and sounds like the 80s Arena/ big Stadium Rockstar Guitar like Michael Schenker/ufo/msg, Scorpions, mid - late 80s Kiss, Judas Priest, while LP is more of the Traditional Rockstar Guitar like Led Zeppelin, Rush, ACDC, ZZ Top... You can play literally any stile on both guitars but from the looks and feel departement they are very different. I have both guitars and i just see it that way from my own experience, i saw a lot of country players and Blues players use the V but also metal guitarists, same for LP aswell.
Pretty similar, but I'd say the Les Paul sounds a bit thicker, so it gets my vote.
I love your videos. I hope you & yours have a Safe & Happy Holidays.
Thank you! Appreciate it.
Having owned both, the Les Paul has higher highs and lower lows, it’s also an incredibly expressive instrument. The Flying V is an absolute blast to play live and does the job. That being said I own a Les Paul, but not a Flying V anymore.
This video definitely deserves more views.
The Vee has a bit more chime, but the Les Paul has more depth and complexity. I find Vee’s to be closer tonally to an SG than a Les Paul. Going one step further, I find Les Pauls and Explorers to have more in common than either of the other two. Some people think ES-335’s are close tonally to a Les Paul, but I’ve never really found that to be true...an ES-335 is really it’s own thing, an underlying airiness to the notes by way of the semi hollow construction.
I couldn't tell a difference with an amp breaking up. But on cleans Les Paul had more lows. With that said, my favorite is Flying V because of looks :P
P.S. Your videos are so appealing to watch - lightning, color, framing, nice presenter, no rush, nothing excessive or distracting. It's like one cozy corner in the whole city. Thank you!
Thanks!
They both sound killer.
I like your playing. I like to chill with my guitars, so it's all about the vibe. LP shades it, I think. But really not much in it.
God I love that Les Paul. The chevron is understated, and perfect. And it sounds amazing. But, the Flying V is a character all it’s own. Own both, problem solved. 🤷♂️
The sound of the Les Paul is pretty unique whereas the Flying V is more common and closer to the explorer with less resonance. I would say Flying V for high distortion and Les Paul for all other things. Nice shootout.
I prefer the sound of the Les Paul as it is much fuller. The V seems to produce a thinner more top end sound to my ear.
Les Paul if you want a bomb that will leave a hole on the ground.
V if you want an arrow that will travel farther.
In conclusion, I’m going to buy a natural finish V.
Not an awful decision at all! I love mine.
Both sound great, but overall, I'de go with the Les Paul. It is also stunningly beautiful to look at.
I preferred the Les Paul when you were sitting down and the V when you were standing! Seriously, both great just different.
Nice man, they honestly didn’t sound too different to me, though I’d like to hear them battle in high gain cause that’s what the V is so famous for
It can definitely do high gain I personally like the clarity of the V in lower gain situations.
@@guitarmovies I was a fender snob until very recently but Gibsons are really growing on me. I have an SG now and it’s a fun guitar with a great sound
@@Upside_Down_Guitar_Guy Same thing happened to me. I still LOVE my Tele, but Gibson overall just makes the guitars I want most, including an SG!
What happened whit high gain demo?
And what about the LP Standard vs the LP Special?? That's an interesting comparison.
It’s on my list!
Both sound great, but will give the Edge to the Les Paul in this one =)
You don’t suck at guitar. Anyone that tells you that is either jealous, unkind or both.
I prefer the flying V. It has more clarity.
I prefer V and don't have LP
So are you still going to sell the LP, or has it been changing your mind?
I still lean toward selling it, but I’m not rushing to put it up for sale 😊
I've listened to a few of this comparison. You have the best sound of any of them by a mile !!!! The others were just all treble and no tone. Both guitars sounded great. Slightly different but in a good way.
Thanks!
There can VEE only one...!
(Triumphant laughter in background.)
😂😂
Les Paul has a thicker sound than to Flying V
It's Les Paul ofcourse..
Ha, that spontaneous smile at 2:25. I think someone is having 2nd thoughts about selling the LP! 😂
I'm playing it right now!
@@guitarmovies Can’t play any Christmas songs, otherwise I’d be doing the same. The LP definitely gets my vote!
Actually, screw it! I’m getting my guitar out.
Yeah, slightly fatter tone from the LP. I like both; they both have great sound, but I give the ergonomic edge to the LP as one doesn’t need a strap to play it.
The LP had a fuller bass end, and therefore sounded a bit richer. I also dislike the look of flying Vs. The least amount of guitar is exactly where the pick hand is working, which seems incongruous to me. Obviously the guitar rocks, but my brain gets disoriented all the same.
Incwedable
Flyng v , is toooop
Les Paul for me, but it was close.
I vote the LP. Mostly because I have an LP (Epiphone Modern), and because it's odd hearing clean tones out of a V. But they both sound very nice, indeed.
The guitars sound pretty much the same but you seem to play with more expression when handling the Flying V. Maybe thats because you find it suits you better?Too bad you always got to stand when playing it because of the that body shape!
Hello mister , me personnelly i play high and the must of the time stand.Flying V are better for that.
@StevieT
Incwedible?
How about thru a real amp?
No
@@guitarmovies just messing with you man lol
I only listened and could not hear any difference.

Les Paul, when I play my Les Paul, I feel that it unleashes my inner Jimmy Page. When I play my friend's Flying V, I feel that it unleashes my inner Judas Priest Guy, and I'm too old for leather pants.
Take a mediocre player and a great player. Both play both of these instruments. Which instrument "sounds better"? You're welcome for the enlightenment on the "better instrument".
You’re so profound
