8m 32 in answers my question. When I set it up and put it on the track and the blade cuts into the white rubber that's stuck to the underside of the edge. I thought I had missed something. Why would the blade cut it? Looks like it does on the first cut. A bit strange. Thanks for the video.
Hold on, while you were cutting using the track I noticed it sliced a thin strip of the track itself. Is this normal? It's my first saw & track and I've been a bit confused why the blade rests on this edge.
Sacrificial edging in plastic I think, and it cuts right up to the edge for a cleaner cut, but mainly for a more accurate placement of the saw on your marks, finally I think you replace the sacrificial plastic when you replace the saw blade, because the saw blade must line up to the edge of the guide for a accurate cut and new blade might be a different thickness
Thanks for the review, but I had to return my first one, after about 6 uses, the brush's failed. I just got replacement, and I cannot believe that I am starting to see alot of sparks coming up around motor, and will not be surprised that this one will fail also very soon. I have only been cutting 3/8 wood sheets, and no metal as of yet. I won't buy another. Take care.
This saw will also fit the Festool track, there is another saw model in this range (same part number just add a +) it has a lamp fitted and comes with a bag but no track, other than that same spec. Great review.
@@PlumbingGy thanks for the reply. On amazon it does say "plunge cuts are now easy" so i guess it does do plunge cuts but not as deep maybe..it says 64mm
No problem, a circular saw will plunge to the maximum depth of the saw your using (each differ) however if you are looking at doing deep plunges then a plunge saw will be needed 👍🏻
I am not interested in cutting metals BUT seeing that this can makes me wonder how long the blade will last being kind to it and just cutting wood. Probably till hell freezes over.
Hi, is it easy to get replacement blades as I’m not having much luck looking. Also have you any experience using the R165Ccsl? If not can you recommend a good one for diy no bigger than 190mm thanks. Love the vids
hAhahhaa I'm sure you will be fine no problem, there isn't much in it to be honest. It depends how much you are going to use it if more than less I would always invest more 👍🏻👍🏻
Did I see the saw cutting the guide track as you cut the chipboard, oooooh don't like the look of that!!!!!! I have Evolution tools and think they are great. Any chance you can explain what happened on that cut?
What kind of blade is that that it can cut wood and also 3 mm mild steel? Mad. I wonder how long the blade would last alternating both materials though. But still, I'm surprised. I'm not a pro though so these kinds of blades may have existed for quite a while.
I still have the same blade in the saw, I may use it a handful of times a month but still fine. I mainly use on wood tho as I have a separate saw for my workshop cuts
With the application it would be the best choice as they are designed for such work, but I don't need multi material if your only going to use it on one type. Thanks
@@PlumbingGy So can you use any brand of saw blade as long as it fits? The impression I am getting is that the blade is the magic that means you can do multiple materials so do they sell their own special blades.
@@PlumbingGy Yeah went to their website... the magic is in the blade which they obviously sell... but I was surprised at the huge range of tools they have. I wish they had a little better designed track saw... Clearly not a plunge saw so nothing like any of the other track saws and the track is a bit of a pain being so short. But for the cost it is pretty impressive and even Home Depot sells it so I am guessing it passed their base line for reasonable quality for price.
Hi Michael, yes the blade as you have discovered is the key here. It is a brilliant saw and the blades do last a good amount of abuse I still have mine running fine. For the price u cannot go wrong and they come highly recommended!
@@PlumbingGy Im in the market for a slide mitre saw, I have a compound none sliding one, but need a larger sliding one, is the Evo sliding R255 any good ?
You know I really like it, have to admit I use my DeWalt one more often but as a back up saw or a diy saw in my opinion you can't go wrong. The cuts are very precise and clean, the blade can make a little noise which I was worried that the blade was out but it's been fine. Take a peek at my video on it if you haven't already 👍🏻
Top man thanks for the speedy reply... home bar build starting soon and just looking for ideas etc... i bought the same evolution circular saw and the rage 7 jig saw... hopefully still have all my fingers afterwards... 🤣🤣🤣
I’ve yet to be disappointed with Evolution, sliding table saw is a beast, circular saws & jigsaws are animals. Amazon are doing this saw with 1040mm track on a lightning deal for £79. The saw alone is worth it. I cut sheet metal & timber with absolute ease for half the price of other makes.
Thank you iron hand, I am new to these saws and very impressed I am glad they have been added to my collection. As you said they are absolute animals and as a professional myself I think they are very under rated just because they are 'cheaper' than other top brands, I've put all my evolution tools under more pressure to see their limits and I'm still trying...... Great tools highly recommend.
Do It All Dan also, given this saw is only around £75 from screw fix, and most other track saws are at minimum double that, it looks like it could be perfect for my use case of making my own plywood furniture.
It’s really not a bad buy to be honest and would be more than adequate for home diy use, if you were to use it as a professional on a daily basis I would say spend a little more money 👍🏻
Do It All Dan I have no plans to stop driving a forklift for a living, it would definitely only be for home diy use, and I need to buy a few other tools too. I only have a few basic hand tools at the moment so I’m looking at kitting up with a few power tools, so I can have a go, rather than just watching others on You Tube I’ve decided on Matika for the Drill and Impact Driver as they have a better deal with batteries at the moment, this saw, a Bosh Palm Router and I’m undecided on a palm router. But I think with just those four tools I should be able to make a fair few things.
Its a track saw it has the recess in the base to allow it to clip on to the track a normal circular saw does not have this facility so would be useless on a track

Hi, I wanted to ask for advice, around 100 - 130 euros which is the best circular saw ?
Thanks for the video. I noticed that a sliver of the track was cut when you were cutting your plywood. Was that supposed to happen?
Yes, sacrificial edge. Blade replacement 👍🏻
can this saw use other brand 7-1/4" blades like Diablo with 5/8" arbor ??
I just bought this. I bought the model which comes with 3 short track sections, and also ordered the larger track.
Hi Dan is this track compatible with a Bosch saw? Thanks.

@@robinford4037 Thanks Robin.
I still dont get it.. I noticed it sliced the guide. I will try tomorrow. As I use to have a bosch set. This never did that so...
i believe it's part of the anti tare out strip, all the track/plunge saw tracks have it and need it cut on the first use
Nice review thanks can you still cut 45 degrees bevel using the track ?
Thanks for the review, but I had to return my first one, after about 6 uses, the brush's failed. Fab, many thanks - I got one in my stocking yesterday and am looking forward to using it!
Please could you clarify if your paid for the reviews? Its hard to tell if you recommend it amongst the competition?
No you are not paid
Thanks for this video Dan, great to see it cutting through all those materials.
Any idea what the kerf is on that blade . Thanks
how hard was to include the part where you attach the blade?
This saw will also fit the Festool track, there is another saw model in this range (same part number just add a +) it has a lamp fitted and comes with a bag but no track, other than that same spec. Great review.
Thank you goatsears there is a few this saw can fit I will find them out and drop them in the comments thank you for the comment 👌🏻
does it really work with makita/festool guide rails?
So that’s the difference between the two, is that really worth the extra £15 🤔
@@almostanengineer LED work light, carry case, higher spec blade and an extra meter of cable is the difference.
What is the plastic trim it appears to cut off on that first track cut?
It’s from a brand new runner so it’s only a test rip
On the guide rail there is a white plastic edge. I notice when you cut the wood you cut that white plastic off at the same time? Is that right?
Yes, sacrificial edge for new blade. Normal 👍🏻
@@PlumbingGy Thanks for your reply, Dan.
can you plunge this saw into the material? looks like it wont plunge, so will you have to start from the edge every time?
It is a circular saw and not a plunge saw, it does plunge to the maximum depth but if you require any more you will need to look at a different saw 👍🏻

Just seen comments lol. Still interested if you have used the r165 evolution one.
Yes very good, especially for home/DIY use 👍🏻
Do you mean this one or the r165? Think r185 might be bit big for me 🤣
hAhahhaa I'm sure you will be fine no problem, there isn't much in it to be honest. It depends how much you are going to use it if more than less I would always invest more 👍🏻👍🏻

New strip after blade change, completely normal
I hope this is still holding up well
All well and good but where do you find the clamps?
Amazon 👍🏻
8:27 looks like it cutting the track there what is that ?
It is. I's cutting the guide, guide comes wider and the first pass cuts it to size. Now it's good to go.
@@richard_red_64 its a plastic strip thats you fit evertime u change the blade i believe and it cuts it of its and alignment thing i believe?
Did it cut into the track as well ?? It certainly looks like it in the video
No, it's fresh so it's the bead
Does it come in 110v ?
Wow, just ordered one…. Cheers for the video matey.

240v standard house plug ?
fez s standard house plug
Cut 6mm mild steel today and some 2mm sheet steel. Good cuts and not too much vibration.
i orded this yesterday that comes with the smaller tracks
You need to order the larger tracks. Those short tracks are awful. I bought the 2800 track.
This vs the bosch or makita? Thanks

So I made the right choice because I buy my self one ☝️
Great bit of kit there kid. ⚙️🛠

Evolution gota doing commercials for them ?
By the way I have on its a peice of art awesome I am buying another one for another location.

Why would you cut copper pipe with a saw, a pipe cutter is cheap enough to just have one just incase, and does a much better job at de-burring. 🤷🏼♂️
