  • Check out the all new R185 cordless track compatible circular saw and ST2800 tracks from Evolution Power Tools.
Evolution never disappoints and these are no exception. Fantastic quality saw with loads of power.
    And the tracks are perfect.
The New track connecting bars are a brilliant upgrade for any track. As the cams clamp the track sideways. So they actually self align the tracks as the clamp them.
With the tracks being compatible with loads of other brand saw and the batteries being compatible with erbauer and the extra new accessories evolution have taken out. It makes evolution one of the most practical saws on the market.

I wish batteries were all compatible with each other so you can just get the tools you want without being locked to a platform.

I really enjoy watching all your video's Dean. I have the R185 CCSL from Evolution and it is my most used saw. It is powerful, easy to handle and the quality of cut is very good. I'm thinking about the mitre saw as my Metabo KGS315 Plus is a real pain for not staying square plus i find it pulls a little when it gets to full speed. Looking forward to more great content soon. 👍👍

Stop getting me in fixing mode ,just greased (and boy the old stuff was hard) my B&D SR 910 RT and found a spring over ,no clue where it goes but put it in what i think is the logical place but its rare or rubbish because theres little out there about it and the available schematics unhlelpful ,any info .works better than it has for 20 years .surprisingly the brushes and bearings were fine .keep up the good work .

I bought an orange 110v Evolution chopsaw when they first came out - very good/accurate. I replaced it with another which was shite and could not cut mitres accurately (I'm a carpenter & joiner). It went straight back to screwfix and I bought a Makita 3 x the price which was an extremely wise decision. I'll never, ever buy evolution for serious woodwork again.

He yet to have it even brought to be serviced. Then again, its expensive equipment (I know, cause I own few XGT) and for most 18V LXT is enough.
Yet I agree, XGT tool would be interesting for him to strip down. I wonder where did they hide that special chip. But I dont think Dean owns either a XGT charger or batteries yet. Though a charger and an adapter would be able to charge 40V, 18V and 14.4V batteries with one.

Basically is it worth the extra cost. I have some XGT and they seem good but this guys opinion is worth alot more to to me 🤣

    • @michaelfairchild
      @michaelfairchild 2 месяца назад

I yet to dismantle it, so cant say, before I got the HP001 I was using mid-tier BL Makita drill, so it was like jumping from Ford Fiesta to Aventador, plus the electronic clutch require to getting used to, but it got power and its Makita kind of power and not Milwaukee type. What I can say about HP001 is that the brake need a second to stop the chuck.
I also had for testing HP002 which was HP001 without hammer function and double less power.
At the end, if youre running everything on LXT, but youre okay without more power or longer runtime for now, then there is no need to update. For example I have LXT Impact DTD172 and XGT version is only 20Nm more powerful.
Biggest reason for XGT is that they are making tabless pouches for batteries, which I doubt they will do for LXT. BL4040F version has some sick power output compared to normal BL4040. Also batteries are also somewhat a drawback as unlike LXT batteries you cannot use BL4080 or BL4050 battery with some of the tools.

This is something I am looking for so your timing was great. Did the saw have any kick back protection? A riving blade to keep the wood apart ? Would thick wood affect it i.e. stall the motor ? Can you add more tracks to the original 2 in your video ?

I have an Evolution Rage3s mitre saw I bought it second-hand wasn't until I got home I noticed the back fence was broken and been repaired I've tried to get one from evolution but they don't make them any more so I've used CT1 super glue to fix it until i can fathom out how to make a replacement. Changed the blade to an Evolution multi material and it works a treat. Only problem is the button you press in to stop the blade moving when you change it is jammed. Is there a way I can release it, Dean, without having to strip it down? I've tried WD40, but it's still not budging.

    Not very impressive
If you use it as a track saw indoor it will not be very good in handling dust.
Tilt seems very flimsy. And much plastic pets like guard.
If you use it as track saw adjustable speed is important.
Don’t see it replace a real track saw.
