I owned an e93 previously. For over a decade now I've been waiting for SOMEONE with enough clout to get parts made (😉) to have all of the known issues locked up tight. Surely someone can make an OFHG, Valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, water pump, coolant cap and reservoir, rod bearings, replacement turbos, fuel pumps, coils, plugs, actual valve covers and such that can last a 100k or more miles!!
That list didn't seem so ridiculous in my head, now that it's out, I remember why I dumped it and bought a Tesla!! 😂😂

trust me bro build a bullet proof n54 and don't cheap out the 700whp maintenance it's really the maximum power stock block n54 can handle so ur pushing it for over a year now thank god u didn't blow it up
i suggest you go with a closed deck conversion kit for the n54 with aftermarket pistons/rods/bearings and after that boost it to 30+ psi and enjoy every minute.
love ur content bro keep up the good work ❤🫡🫂

just looking at the video and how slow it seems and knowing what psi hes running on the kit....this aint no 700 wheel car. this is a 450-500wheel car. 600wheel if he runs 23+ psi. clickbait title

If you build it you should add water injection to the turbo inlet side. This is proven to drop intake air temps even and provide piston cooling thus you can push more timing. Also the n52 exhaust cam works for the n55 and n54 gives a lot more lift and duration on the valve. If you went with upgraded rods and piston and closed deck a ported head is a must and going full dry sump. Car is going to push a lot of power and last thing you want is any oil starvation. And with that you should go and add on an oil bypass kit. Now these are used a lot in the diesel world but these drastically reduce engine wear due to contamination. Your first oil filter can run low as 5 micron. Now I would believe you have some for a lot of these things near fire wall. Now last op thing would to retrofit b58 intake with water air intercooler to fit. So double cooling with the front mount. But you would ditch that for bigger oil and water cooling with a closed deck system.

Would love to see a built motor! Love the content man.
In my honest opinion from driving and modding N54 for years, n54 stock motor is reliable at a max of 350 - max 370wkw. Once you go past this it’s just endless issues and the motor simply wont last. Obviously fuelling plays a big role and I am mostly talking about when running twins. Single makes less torque so bent rods are less of a concern but running twins past 370wkw almost guarantees hurting the motor eventually, plus on the way to hurting the motor it’s just endless headaches, misfires etc bla bla bla.
Also water injection is such a great mod and really helps as it helps massively with timing corrections, intake temps and cylinder temps. No need for methanol, just straight up water.

Just a suggestion when hunting a fuel leak, my e90 had a hairline crack on the top of the fuel pressure regulator housing. I never would’ve noticed it had I not had the back seat off and smelled the tiniest hint of fuel. The housing is plastic and just becomes brittle overtime. Worth checking.

It might be interesting to put a camera in cylinder 1 to see if a valves are not damaged and why not inject oil to see if the piston is still tight
I agree with most people on the fact that stock n54s don't last very long at 30psi or more, I run mine at 25...fingers crossed, but the pistons and rings are the first to fail on preparations 700WHP or more
If you want to make it reliable above 28psi, you need other things than internal BMW parts, even with maintenance they are not enough...

@hdhfjthdjfughhnghr8315 The coolant tanks crack at the seam. Do you see any signs of coolant spray around the backside of it? I've replaced 2. It can spray down onto the exhaust from there. Another spot would be the coolant line supplying the turbo down below. You have to replace those when swapping the turbos, and they get weak and can leak (big ugghhh there).

Why don’t you take the motor out and do a fully built engine. Forged everything

Isn't one of the most common problems the mosfets in the ecu? there's 6. 1 for each cylinder. while the coil packs being higher energy is a good idea. you probably need to open that ecu and replace the mosfets. they're 3$ and a bit of soldering.

I know you can make a lot of power with E85 but I hear so many issues with the after effects. Especially if you let the vehicle sit a while.

Hey bro. I love your videos and car builds. Why not pull the motor and build a mild motor for turbo? You already know many of the common issues of these cars to upgrade. Just pull the motor and rebuild to your taste. I def want to see a bmw teardown and build.

Try coding a new or used ECU/DME. I had the same issues was giving code 30ff (something like that) and a few others. IIRC the code had something to do with bad injector drivers or something in the ECU. The bank 2 cylinder ran like shit.

It's time for a teardown and a built motor. Check the turbo and buy some rods and pistons.
