- Having just picked up his set of Mizuno Pro221 and T22 wedges from the Tour workshop - we sent Luke Donald out with Mizuno's own Matt McIsaac and RUclips Pro Matt Fryer on a gentle scramble around Bearwood Lakes. More on MizunoGolf.com
It’s really cool to get this kind of inside look behind the curtain. This is the content people really want to see. Thanks to Luke for letting us tag along. But we all know the biggest bonus was the guest appearance from Matt Fryer!
In every Mizuno video I've ever seen with Luke in, he always looks like he can't be arsed to be there and that's its all one big ball ache!
Very much enjoying these videos with Luke Donald. The one thing I think these videos give that watching the pros on TV doesn't is a glimpse into the player's personality. Luke is a very likeable guy and it's interesting to see what his thoughts are on the newest clubs and why he has older clubs in the bag. Thank you.

Would love to see Luke do a few more masterclass videos, similar to the Mizuno ones from a few years ago. And would like to see more input from Matt Fryer.
We’ll see if we can make that happen.
A little known fact is that this course they are on are inhabited by 1000's of woodpeckers.

Luke was #1 only ten years ago (Team RBC). I remember seeing him at my last PGA tour event, at Shaughnessy Golf Course back in the late summer of 2011. No ego, level headed, overall solid guy!

Great video, though not sure I'm skilled enough for these irons or to play alongside Luke. I definitely would have knifed that chip through the green so props on the two Matt's for keeping it on the short stuff.

those 2 5 irons back to back from Luke.. amazing, great insight. Stunning course which I've been lucky enough to play a few time. Luke's defo a nice guy to be around and great insight to his thoughts on his bag choice!
Would enjoy seeing Luke find his form again. Class act. Mizuno has shifted it’s “staff” players to “up and coming” professionals, but don’t forget guys like Luke. Seasoned, traditionalists like Luke that play Mizuno irons by choice would be nice too. If you can entice them.
Fryer looked nervous. Cannot figure out how Luke Donald has not climbed back on some leaderboards. His swing looks buttery as usual and not looking like he has a bad back. His swing is class. Hopefully we see him regain some form.
Matt was very quiet today, nice video. I’m testing these irons out too! Looking forward to trying them 👌🏻

I do get sick of him mentioning "when he got to number one in the world " in every interview. Funny, there's no mention of the Majors he's won.

Not sure Matt’s rhythm was that good that day.
It would have made more sense to have only played irons, using a different version of the same iron on each shot.

Matt (Mizuni Rep) -Why UK Mizuno has better selections than US Mizuno? Hardly can find any Mizuno shirts here in TX
Just a local choice by European sales team to offer a wider product selection. US aren’t currently choosing to offer golf apparel.

Wasn't paying attention when they were hitting the wedge shots around the 14 minute mark after Luke hit one. Then I hear another chip that sounded like shit and I was like good god....but it was Fryer and the other guy
Waiting to hear more about these irons. Which one is similar to my 919 forged.
Construction - wise the 223 is closest, but a lot more compact. The 225 might be an easier move from 919 Forged.
It is a 27 degrees 5 iron versus a 24 degrees five iron. surprise, one is a club longer.
Hearing those brand new irons clank against each other in the carry bag is horrible

No - Luke played a few events in 2021 and did pretty well.

The 225 is the closest.
225 vs tm p790 which is the best ?
One is a Mizuno, the other is from a company whose clubs are notorious for cracking.
Would the 221 be an improvement from the mp20 mb's?
Not for everyone. Very personal when the differences are relatively small. More compact short irons, a little thinner top line and slightly lower ball flight in the 221s.

@@AbileWiratmaka not sure about the 221 but mp20 in pw,9,8,7 .. 6,5 in the mmc are a great combo.. more than "forgiving" enough with a decent striker

He's probably the least enthusiastic brand ambassador of any tour player. Need a crowbar just to pry a positive bit of feedback out of him.
Some of the earlier Mizuno masterclass videos with Luke are my all time favourites. Ones from 5-7 years ago. Well worth a watch. I am a big fan of his attitude and temperament.

Pros like Luke must get bored listening to the sales pitch of these chaps. Two different 5 irons but one has the loft of a 4 iron so of course it's a flatter ball flight and longer carry. Golf marketing is tiresome.
