- How would a low hcp golfer fare in a chipping competition against the best in the business - former world #1 Luke Donald? We gave Mizuno's Chris Voshall the opportunity to find out between shooting scenes for our ST200 promotonal film. More from Mizuno on Tour at golf.mizunoeur...
Always been a fan of Luke Donald. And he and Chris come off as just the nicest guys. Love the tips and banter. Stay safe.
Luke had one of the best short games ever, bar none. Always worth listening to what he has to say. A great guy. Thank you.
Yes, please more of this! very useful insights from Luke :-)
We'll try. Thanks.
Thanks Luke and Chris. I learned a lot from this. I am hoping that the pandemic will be over very soon so that you guys can publish more videos like this. I can't thank enough for your masterclass series that were published 5-6 years ago. Those series really have helped my short game tremendeously. As for future videos, I think it would be great if you could use two or more cameras at the same time: one focuses on Luke's impact and follow through, the other one is on where the ball rolls.
Hats off, Chris, for putting your neck on the line. A great effort!
Greetings from Ireland. Luke has such a silky smooth technique. No swing is rushed. Just a gentle increase in tempo. 1 great take away for me, when we get back to golf👍
Not sure there's been anyone smoother from this range.
Mizuno Golf, if I need to focus on tempo, I just need to watch some videos of Luke Donald and Fred Couples practicing short game, and my swing immediately gets smoother. Those two guys have butter and silk in their hands 🤩
Please, ask the cameraman to keep the whole swing in the frame, when filming the golf shot!
It's useless to film a swing from waist height.
Anyway, always such a pleasure to see Chris and Luke talking golf.
Was a grabbed opportunity between takes for the ST200 promotional film. Our camera guy had to get audio without benefit of microphones - so we asked him to stay close.
Mizuno Golf, thank you so much for your answer, very kind of you 😊👍
@@Fantus70 Welcome - glad you enjoyed the conversation between Chris and Luke.
Just watched one of these from 5 years ago and someone complained about the camera guy. Fast forward to now and what do we have...lol
Luke and Chris thanks very good advice have fun I have a love for the game in just 3 years that's all you need and don't over think take the good with the bad chirs
So smooth
That SOUND when Luke hits his wedges!!! It's like he's ripping the cover off the ball...
Luke's short game is on a different level. The strike on short pitches is really special.
Takes a bit of courage to be in front of the camera and trying to out chip one of the best short game players of the last 10 years.
Even having a bit of fun, always impresses me how good a contact top players get on the ball time and time again. 👍🏻
By most measures, Chris is a really good player - but the difference in short game was staggering. The sound from Luke's wedges is so clean.
@20:16 "semi rough" lol, that's like the putting surface at my local
"You've been the best from the bunkers for a number of years - i'm not the best in a foursome." Nice Chris.
Getting chirped by Jeff Cook 😂😂
When Luke Donald retires from tournament play, he would be a fantastic short-game teacher, especially to other pros.
He makes it all seem so simple.
Anyone reckon they could give Luke a run for their money?
If you think you can...you can't.
Errr, no!
I think I could get more than 1 point!
CV., meant compare yours vs Luke’s.. 😎
Luke always has that click sound when he chips.
He's really special around the greens.
Nice content but the cameraman 🤨
Chris.. compare your backswing and tempo vs yours.. there is a key there..
Silky smooth vs.......
Yep.. your back swing is very abrupt, never higher than about ~ 8 o’clock. Luke increases his takeaway to 9-10oclock. Sean Cain and Blake Adams teach the Luke method 😇.
CV. U can do it !!
Douche bag at 16:13.. “hey let’s keep them on the course”
Luke comes off as a snob
camera work was garbage lol
I’ve played Mizuno irons since 1998. Love them, but you would think they would have other pros as their focus. No disrespect to Luke Donald.. he had a good career, but seriously.. No majors? 5 PGA tour wins.. come on Mizuno. It’s time to find your next hope
We've plenty of new guys - generally younger on the rise. Keith Mitchell, Adrien Saddier, Adam Schenk, Bo Hoag. On this particular day we were focussed on shooting the new ST200 driver and Luke's probably the best benchmark. He's been with Mizuno for a stretch and hasn't always taken to Mizuno drivers. Having said that, Luke's still got one of the best shortgames in the world............so still great to watch from this kind of range.
Mizuno Golf Luke is a brilliant vehicle for your product. One of the all time greats with his short game and putting. Former world number one, and with the way he has always conducted himself a brilliant role model. I have had the privilege to have played with him and he is just the nicest guy.
Wow, Luke Donald seems incredibly socially awkward. Also, I think you need better camera equipment with focusing abilities.
