    Welcome to the ultimate sprinter build! In this video, we will take you on an epic adventure as we transform this ordinary van into an off-road beast. Join us as we partner with Mainline Overland, the experts in adventure van builds, to install a sick off-road van suspension.
    Our first step in this incredible transformation is upgrading the suspension. We wanted to ensure that our van could handle any terrain we encounter on our off-road adventures. That's why we chose Mainline Overland, a trusted name in the industry known for their expertise in many platforms.
    With Mainline Overland's expertise, we installed a state-of-the-art suspension system from King Shocks and Deaver Springs that is specifically designed to withstand the toughest off-road conditions. This suspension upgrade will provide our van with exceptional handling, stability, and ground clearance, allowing us to conquer any obstacle that comes our way.
    But that's not all! We also equipped our van with a set of rugged Reika R35V wheels and Nexen Roadian ATX tires that are perfect for off-road adventures. These wheels and tires are specifically selected to provide optimal traction and durability, ensuring a smooth and safe ride even on the roughest terrains.
    To further enhance the performance of our van, we also installed a Rotora big brake kit. This upgrade will provide us with improved stopping power, allowing us to have better control over our vehicle in any situation.
    Join us as we embark on this incredible off-road van build journey! Follow along as we showcase every step of the process, from the initial suspension installation to the final touches. Get inspired and learn from the experts as we share valuable tips and tricks along the way.

    This is awesome. Everything has a purpose and I love that ❤ not a fan of that water retention in the bump stop 😮

      Thank you! I agree. Purpose is driving the build. Lots of van folks make mall cruisers but I plan to actually use this thing!

    Jon, just a heads up for when you start bolting stuff to the interior based on my experience in my 3500 XD with shelving units and a near catastrophic incident last week. The issue is the sheet metal that the interior framing is made of which looks to be around 1mm with paint or 20 gauge steel. My shelving unit tore loose from it last week, in spite of there being 4 5/16-in rivet nuts installed (just to anchor the top of the 8-ft shelving unit) because the sheet metal is so thin it allowed the whole thing to flex enough that it stressed the metal to failure, pulling the riv-nuts out with chunks of truck frame. If you're going to mount anything heavy to that inside frame with any kind of L-brackets, I'd recommend riv-nutting at least 14 or 12 gauge steel mounting plates along the sheet metal and fasten to them rather than directly to the truck itself. That will prevent flex at the riv-nuts. It's amazingly sad how cheaply modern vans are made, even the expensive ones...

      Thanks for the heads up! I’m actually going to be using a kit from Lost Hiway that adds a bunch of structure for attaching stuff so hopefully I won’t have that issue!

      @@thebatlwgnsounds good. The issue here was that the mounting points from Ranger (upfit manufacturer) used two rivnuts grouped together front and rear which was what caused the flex. In older trucks made with thicker sheet steel that wouldn't have been an issue, but this damn thing is ridiculously thin. I like your push bar mod and might stop in to overland on Monday when I'm in town to meet an inspector to see what my options are. Too many damn deer here in PA to drive around without added protection...

    Have you thought about anything to maybe somewhat cover the rear brakes since they are very exposed?? I'm also considering swapping to a super single on my 3500 and the exposed brake wouldn't stop me but I would like to not have the rears so exposed if I could

    • @thebatlwgn
      @thebatlwgn  Месяц назад +1

      I'm not super concerned about it at this point. I spoke with Brian at Shadowmarq who has had them for a while and goes off road a good bit. He said hes never had an issue.
