I know Rixen’s Enterprises taps into the engine coolant to heat their glycol loops and use the diesel furnace less often, are there other setups that do the same? Does this one ?

Be interesting to compare this to an electric system in terms of total costs , install , space used etc .This system has a lot of vital equipment under the van that could be damaged by rocks dirt road salt snow etc did u inclose it?

This is known as lack of UAT. User acceptance testing. This is basic project management.

I bought a used 2017 25’ RV mounted to a Sprinter 3500 170” chassis. Total GVRW is just under 6 tons. I get approximately 14 mpg pulling a Chevy Trax on a tow dolly. If I don’t tow and stay under 65 mph I can get upwards of 16 mpg. The engine is strong for its size and maintenance is not that difficult - better to DIY or find a former MB mechanic that specializes in Sprinters. Oil change about $120 (12.5 qts + filter). I do add Archoil 6400 at each fill up. The DEF fill being under the hood is okay. I had to add a 2.5 gallon box after about 400+ mil

We have a 2024 Beast XO and we LOOOOOVE it. Just took it on its 3rd trip since we got it in September. So intelligently engineered. I like the idea of the strip lighting in the back, as an upgrade. We're using a Cabbunk in the front for extra sleeping space. So manueverable, so capable for handling bumpy forest service roads. And we were in temps in the 'teens last week in the mountains, and it was warm and cozy the whole time. Overall, we're SO GLAD that Westfalia's manufacturing delays led us to dropping our order, because we have a far more capable, durable, and well-designed rig than we would have had. Bravo, Storyteller!

Imagine building something for 40,000 and selling it for 350,000. There truly is a sucker born every minute. Nice unit but seriously?

I had the 4 x4 144 WB with no bulkhead. You talk about not being able to get up in the van, well with the factory 4 inch lift it was almost impossible. I returned the van the very next day and opted for the rear wheel drive with the bulkhead. What a difference! With the bulkhead you don’t hear all that noise from the cargo area and you can heat and cool it much faster and i saved 20k in the process. I agree about the placing of the handle, it is stupid , half the time i grab the steering wheel and the upper handle. Thanks for the video !

Too much. Ditch the rooftop. Make the rear a garage, 3.5ft deep under the bed and sleep sideways. Copy the revel layout forward of the bed. Push half of the kitchen into the van step and include outdoor cook space (cooking indoors sucks). Make it affordably. Nobody is doing this. Nobody has the right layout for those who use these vans for outdoor activities who need a full garage.

Oh NOOOO, a Cumzin motor , that 24 valve was 130 hp a GUTLESS WONDER FROM THE FACTORY !!!!!!!!!!! A very weak 53 Block which cracked much later then the extendedly extended warrantiee. I COULD NEVER HAVE ANOTHER ONE OF THEM THINGSssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!

I also have a boring everyday driver. I bought it to save miles on my super duty diesel truck. It is a 2016 Subaru Legacy in a fairly low trim package. It may be boring but it starts every time and gets 30 mpg on my commute.

Would be nice to hear your process, while in holding… Something you said, “not to bore you with” would actually be VERY helpful to many people… the build process. What did you have to do or consider first, then have to consider next… hope that makes sense and thank you for sharing your honest experience… It is baffling how “van tax” doesn’t come with price equivalent support.

I thought about your van tonight on the way back to Lancaster from down past Oxford as I was trying to listen to some music that really shines in a quiet environment, but at the end of the day, mine is a work truck and most guys think the espresso machine in it is already overkill... I'd love to see yours (and hear it) when it's all done. Maybe one of these days our Sprinters will meet up :)
