  • Off-road Shocks and shock tuning is often thought about as black magic. In reality, it's just controlling the flow of fluid. The AGM class 10 car shocks were far from good at the end of the baja 500. we pulled them off and dropped them off with Suspension Development Group (SDG). They tore them down to nothing and rebuilt them to what they think would work. When we picked them up, Jason explained how shocks work in words that we could easily understand. Watch as Jason tells Bryan the ins and out of shocks with parts to show how its all works. Get your ride smooth with a little bit of effort.

Is it just the nitrogen pressure that forces the shaft out before installation?

      Yes, exactly.

@@AGM-Products are the valves on the shaft just closed at those pressures? I assumed there would still be some ability for fluid to flow through the valves and thus allow the piston to move even with small external force but I was having to use my full weight to compress my new rear shocks even the tiniest bit. And they extended fully as soon as I released them like they had springs on them. I think I’m just misunderstanding how they are setup out of the box.
