Rachel Makesy makes whimsical clothes, costumes, paints landscapes on her walls and makes her house look like a wonderland. All with great humor and vocabulary. 100% recommend.
I came to the comments to recommend Rachel! She brings the whimsy! I love all her videos. Glad to see her already here!
I love the RUclipsr Ariel Bisset! She’s so affable and bookish as well, and she is remodeling an old farmhouse in beautiful rural Canada. Reliving my Anne of Green Gables childhood obsession with her on the regular. ✌🏻
second this!!
Affable is a great word to describe Ariel! I love her positive attitude and easy laugh.
Heck yeah!! She's genuinely so sweet.
Her house is fantastic! I especially love the colors she does all her trims and baseboards.
Came here to say this too!
thank you so much for touching on the importance of being respectful at estate sales - I feel like this isn’t mentioned/discussed nearly enough
My sister and I had an estate sale this past summer for our parents' whole house full of stuff. We really enjoyed meeting the people who will (hopefully) be treasuring the items and a lot of people told us stories about how the vintage items reminded them of their mom or something in their childhood. It was a MUCH better experience than I expected. ❤❤❤
I’m so glad to hear that! I can imagine that would be so hard.. 💕🫂
My fave comfort youtuber recently has been Rajiv Surendra, he is such a lovely guy and so creative❤
Hannahleeduggan and and Rachel Maksy are two of my favorite creators to live vicariously through LOL Loved this video! Always fun to play around with new stuff!
Yess
Hi Kathleen!!! I'm happy to see RUclipsr Leena Norms being recommended by other friends here. She's super fun, especially the "positive panic with leena" series. For books I love the Lockwood and Co. Series (ghost fighting at its best!) by Jonathan Stroud. I've never been to an estate sale but I'd love to see one with cool, wearable, yet unique clothes and fun accessories, whoo hoo! I love the drawing today, so relaxing and inspiring to try new mediums. I teach an Art Club at my elementary school so I'm surrounded by kids willingness to try new things and I think that makes the world a better place.
I love Rachel Maksy (vintage clothing collector, thrift shopping, and she sews clothing and creates cosplay items!), Bernadette Banner (fashion historian, specializing in the Edwardian period, who sews and had some comfy workroom vlogs), Morgan Donner (sewer/maker who loves Italian 16th century fashion), Karolina Zebrowska (Polish sewer who loves 1930s fashion and memes), Safiya Nygaard (originally of Buzzfeed fame, she tries ridiculous fashion trends, as well as making things! Example: she combined every Bath & Body Works candle into one "Franken-candle"), and Shelby Sherritt (an Australian potter who bought a Lot of 100 mystery pottery molds and made videos showcasing each one).
I feel like our view history would be very similar! Yes to all of these!!
We inhabit a very similar corner of the internet.
I'm a huge fan of The Sorry Girls. They're a Canadian diy, home reno, home design, sometimes fashion, sometimes outdoor garden design, really fun group of ladies.
I love their brothel renovation!!!
I love them! Do you watch Alexandra Gater or Tina Le? I get kind of similar vibes from all.
Just went thrifting yesterday and said, aloud, “distracted by home goods again!” As a homage to you. ❤😂
HA! 😜
Kathleen, you take all the time you need and do videos you feel amazing about and feed your soul. We’ll still be here when you get back, your video announcements absolutely make my day :)
“this is for a singer! We’re a brother household!!!!” If you didn’t know those were sewing machine brands that would be such an intriguing sentence to overhear.
The estate sale looked incredible! Also congratulations and nice work everyone who donated on the fundraiser for the PCRF - $2,300, that's simply amazing!
Rachel Maksy is one of my favorite RUclipsrs. She does vintage fashion stuff and lots of crafting. She is so creative and so funny! Highly highly recommend ❤
Kathleen, you're my comfort RUclipsr! But, also, no pressure. So glad you're taking the time you need. You're a human first! ❤
I really can't recommend Ursula K. Le Guin enough, she has a few sort-of space books like The Dispossesed and The Left Hand of Darkness that are just great. The earthsea cycle is fantasy and really for young adults but is incredible anyway. I know these books are kinda old but if you haven't read her before i really think you should give her a try!
yes! Ursula le Guin is my favourite author and so important to me. Always Coming Home changed my brain a little bit, I think.
This is the push I needed to finally get round to the left hand of darkness that's been waiting for me on my shelf for a few months...
Hard agree, Ursula K Le Guin is GOATed.
I was reading the comments about RUclipsrs and I thought you said Ursula Le Guin had a channel and I was like what?? I’m watching that. And then I thought wait, let me read the whole comment. Oh books yeah. She’s an author. Is she still alive? I really liked Octavia Butler for Sci-if novels. ❤she was ahead of her time.
I love Micarah Tewers and her chaotic energy when it comes to sewing and rennovstion videos. I’m also a Die Hard Mariah Elizabeth fan. I’m not even a rainbow girl but yet I love her videos- super inspiring in how she just CREATES so so much. I love Mia maples for a laugh
I came here to recommend Micarah and Mia! I adore them both. And Mama Maples of course.
@@mollyh1056omg yes the best!!!
Jonna Jinton is my favorite youtuber ever. She lives in the forests in the north of Sweden and her videos feel magical and inspiring
One of my fave comfort youtubers is Nisipisa who makes window shopping videos where she tears apart the odd fashion options of various websites while not taking it (or herself) too seriously
Omg yes!!!! I absolutely adore her dry humor
Oooh I agree! Nisipisa!
I always go for the RUclipsrs I call sewing royalty when I want good vibes, Rachel Maksy, Bernadette banner and micarah tewers always have incredible contents for any mood!
I always recommend Maddie Dragsbaek whenever someone asks for a youtube rec. Amazingly edited and she has such a unique style and honest way of talking. Shes always just a breath of fresh air.
Book series I recommend even though they're not like, the best piece of literature ever written is A Court of Thorns and Roses. First book is a bit of a slog but the rest of the series has some fun melodrama and world building within a fairy court setting.
Thank you for these questions because i have also been in a rut for books and youtubers and now i can scroll through the comments and get some recs!!
I am soooo here for more creative & artsy Kathleen content, fashion-related or otherwise!! & here for you takin ur time & makin whatever u wanna make:') I know it will be excellent whatever it is & I'm so excited to see what's to come hehe
AppleCheeks is my favorite comfy artist youtuber
She is one of the few youtube channels that helps me to fully relax when I'm feeling stressed or tense ♥
(Also I look up to her as an artist a lot and I hope one day I can sell my art like she does)
I’ve really enjoyed Alexandra Gater’s home makeover content. Such sweet, silly, good vibes with fresh makeovers for deserving people. & Caroline Winkler who is very real, vulnerable, funny, and wicked talented in home design! Empress Rose is a smaller creator who does tarot readings if you’re into that sort of thing! I love her method of reading & can always take something positive from her content. & Of course I’m a huge fan of this channel for some feel good and creative content for any mood and occasion. With that said, I really enjoyed this type of video!! Thank you!
seconding Caroline Winkler!! gonna check out the others you mentioned too :)
Best channel ever - Leena Norms, if you haven't heard of her already :) She got eco/climate stuff as well as thrift finds and crafts videos & books reviews.
I also enjoy very much Briannah Jewel, she does mostly react content on various wellness MLMs from the point of science and fitness.
I really enjoy watching Jenna Phipps and Moriah Elizabeth! They are both incredibly creative in their own amazing unique ways. If you are feeling spooky, Sam and Colby are my all time favs! Oh and a good book that will leave you on edge is The Silent Patient ahhh its so good!
Anne Rice's "Interview With the Vampire" has my whole heart ❤️ give it a read if you haven't already
My dream estate sale is gorgeous furniture they are selling for a song and free delivery 😂.
I enjoy Caroline Winkler on RUclips & she also does a podcast not4everyone. I also enjoy Leena Norms from the UK -she talks books & how to avoid climate disparities, and has recently been learning to knit & sew & watching her learn a new skill has been lovely, her joy is just Infectious.
You are always so chipper & quirky, I’m glad you started a RUclips because your content has been inspiring.
I also love Leena Norms, I think she and Kathleen would get along. LOL
i love hannah lee duggan. i used to watch her so much more in the past and rediscovered her recently. she’s absolutely perfect for the winter months. she generally posts home renovation, building and outdoor nature videos bc she has a cottage in the forest and a homestead and a van that lets her venture, etc. her videos are so good and cozy and her music taste is so fun to witness, as well as her singing voice. they’re very good for background while you accomplish your own tasks with her mhm
I love her videos!!! Her DIY attitude is motivating and her forest living setup is so dreamy
We love Baumgartner Restorations. Really detailed, relaxing videos of fine art restoration.
I love watching Elise Buch - a Danish RUclipsr (speaking English in the videos) with great colourful vintage style and owner of a cute little vintage store. And then she bought a house that’s she’s slowly decorating!
I also enjoy watching Rachel Maksy and Lucy Wood 🧡
One of my favorite RUclipsrs to watch is Jamie on the channel ANTICHEF. He's been teaching himself how to cook on his RUclips channel for the past six years, and has a wonderful "Jamie and Julia" series that goes absolutely bonkers at times. Turns out, following vintage cooking books and recipes is a wild ride.
I love him! I’m so happy his channel has blown up.
you are like estate sale asmr- very soothing to go through all the cherished relics of an estate sale💜 if I could go to any estate sale it would be a sorcerer or wizard or white witch estate sale with an apothecary of glass, potions, wands, secret writings, robes, etc and maybe a time travel machine😆 and some talking Minah birds that know the secret language 😆
I really like Caroline Winkler’s RUclips channel, it’s sometimes interior design and sometimes thoughtful and sometimes a little unhinged vlogs. She’s really funny and her videos are always comfort content for me :)
If you’re looking for amazing cozy vibes and just gorgeous romanising of the seasons, DarlingDesi is MY GIRL. I love her so much, such a good comfort watch
I am reading a classic rn - Watership Down. I am absolutely amazed by how beautifully written it is. I do know the story from the movie and recent Netflix movie, but the written version is just so much more eeri but in a beautiful way. The epigraphs before each chapter are just *chef's kiss*, like can we bring that back please writers? I need to quote them on my social media like an edgy millenial thanks.
Vampires in the Lemon Grove is another good short story collection that has some unsettling stories. There is an incredible one about silk worms!
Book rec! My favorite sci fi books series of all time is the murderbot diaries by martha wells!!! They're about a robot/android who is programmed to kill but hacks the system and shenanigans ensue. They're super fun, quick reads and the characters are very endearing.
I love murderbot!!!! I just want to hug it Even though it would probably hate that 😂
I ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ the murder bot diaries!!!!!!!! I’m cheap and I checked them out from the library. I only buy Robert Galbraith books and art history books.
@@waffelsmellgood ikr theyre so good. i haven't read another book series that has got me that invested in a while
@@han-sn8tu there is a series on audible by Rachel Aaron she does a mage series Minimum Wage Magic and Nice Dragons finish last books. They are also quick fantasy cute fantasy books. I like the mage magic more.
Omg! So many comfort RUclipsrs, you being one Kathleen!
I also love, Ariel bisset, Leena norms, Rachel maksy, the kitchen and jorn show for the fun vibes, diy Danie, cherry Wallis, dress me up Scotty, Lucy wood, and a lot of ambience videos with all the chill cosy vibes.
I'm a big fan of Rajiv Surendra for comfort watching . He's a modern day renaissance man, and his videos cover a wide range of art forms and subjects including sewing, painting, calligraphy, cooking, antiquing, and even cleaning.
loveeeee rajiv!!!!
Thank you so much for the Allison paiges rec! She's been such a comfort to me lately as I've been dealing with health issues.
You should look into the fifth season trilogy if you haven't already. Not spooky but a really awesome fantasy epic adventure.
drawfee is for sure my comfort channel!! impossible to be in a sad or bad mood when you pop one of their videos on :)
absolutely agree!! Drawfee, and Jacob and Julia's gaming VODs on Secret Sleepover are my go to comfort channels
Agree agree
When I found you few months ago- I binged so many before bed-your voiceovers are tier calming for me and thrifty artsy whimsy. I am a fellow creative, so finding a twinish flame on RUclips is amazing. I also recently found The Stitchery on RUclips (and also watched as many videos as possible) who doesn’t follow patterns, has a massive stash of second hand fabrics that I think many can relate to…I am in my sewing era for sure. I love “YA” thanks to Tamora Pierce, who literally started the genre back in 80s. So she a comfort read for me-Daine a curly haired teen who can talk to animals-goals in middle school. Oh I also love Christine McConnell-I just really appreciate those who can lean into what they love, share what they love on RUclips and I can consume that said passion
👏🏼giving you an applause with my stinky paws 🐾
You and Elise Buch are my comfort RUclipsr. No pressure, just hugs❣️
- all love from Denmark✨
Can confirm, Elise buch is fabulous
AGREED!
Little Tiny Egg makes restful & inspiring art vlogs -- and named your channel as a favorite of hers in a recent video :)
I love watching Darling Desi and TheCottageFairy! After I've finished one of their videos I always feel happy and peaceful. Unlike some other creators and videos on the platform, I always come away with a smile on my face. :)
love these two, also!
I enjoy watching JoAnne Salmon. I like watching along with her creating illustrations and art. 😊
I looove her!
Her videos are so cozy.
I fully support the dive into the artistic & crafty energy on your channel. My favs of yours are the ones where you're painting and adding that extra spice. Bonus that it always inspires and motivates me to finish the projects I have piling up...and it is not a small pile.
Apocalyptic/Distopian series that I loved: Scythe by Neal Shusterman and They Who Fell by Kevin Kneupper
I'm so glad you're sharing about work-life balance! I struggle with that, too. Also the idea of only posting one thing gives me hives so I'm excited that you're posting a variety of things. ❤
I love Baylee Jae, she started out with a daily blog, but I discovered her in 2017 for her art channel. Now she has her own business, which is focused on her own art, and her life and she's a huge inspiration to me, as I am in the process of taking the leap into making a business with my own crafting and it's super scary so all her advice is super helpful.
Humor meets creativity-wise, I would recommend Laugh, Cry, DIY, just beautiful content and lovely person-wise, I love XO Macenna, I also love Laura Caldwell for learning about vintage!
what a beautiful combination! Art + Thrifting! 😊✨ btw everytime I see a piece of art with a clown now, I have to think about you! 😄🤡
Evan and Katelyn are my go to comfort youtubers. They're just fun to hangout with
I went to an estate sale of a stop motion animator that had the most diverse and unique tools I’d ever seen. I brought a little filing cabinet full of paint brushes and little metal stamped numbers. I wish I brought more.
WOAH that sounds like a dream! 🤯💕
Lately I've been super into Mae Ceramics. Her voice and content is super relaxing and it's been awesome to learn more about a medium that i want to get into but don't have the funding for. Nothing beats curling up in bed with my cat and crocheting while watching her videos. Another ceramicist I've been put on his Florian Gadsby!!
as someone quite into a lot of thrifted/diy stuff but with a bit more of an edge (but still a generous amount of whimsy!!!) i highly recommend rattus rattus! :0 they're super gothy and whimsical and their sense of style and home decor as well as how many diy things they've done and taked about, absolutely lovely and they're definitely one of my favorite people on youtube!
Honestly you're currently my favorite comfort youtuber! but i really recommend Jenny Nicholson if you like long videos about random topics, or Kaz Rowe for cozy history content. Also etellan if you enjoy doll customization :0 super relaxing stuff
So glad you're taking your time and taking care of yourself. Sustainability is so important, as is rest. It's not a race and we appreciate all your gifts... no matter how often they arrive
Annette would be proud to know you are taking care of her plant and using her supplies. Yes, I have been to estate sales though not in a few years just have so much stuff atm. My dream estate sale glass ware that matches what I have, jewelry victorian, art deco, gothic, clothes art. RUclipsrs I love Raedizzle she tests out art supplies and different mediums as well as "hacks" also Chloe Rose she loves Disney and does art involving bears.
Rajiv Surendra and Watcher have been my favourites as of late! Rajiv’s videos are very lovely and full of life stories, advice, and bits of humour, and Watcher’s Ghost Files series has completely sucked me in for the past little while :]
Jenna Phipps is a Canadian crocheter and her videos are delightful. For books, In the House in the Dark of the Woods by Laird Hunt. I didn't know much about it going in and I think that's the best way to read it.
I love Jenna Phipps!
Yes to Jenna Phipps:)
Karen Puzzles! I don’t do puzzles at all but karen and her videos are A DELIGHT
Molly Roberts, she's an artist and does a lot of art magic and I LOVE her. She has one of the best voices in the world, it's so soothing and relaxing, but also inspiring when it comes to art and how to just get over being "perfect". I also love Ariel Bisset, she's wonderful.
I have been reading a whole crazy spread of books: Wheel of Time series (I'm on book 2), Frankenstein, This is not a Drill, Hood Feminism and White Fragility. I have never been to an estate sale, but a dream one would be a witchy persons; I would love the books and just everything.
I recommend any book by T. Kingfisher. Her stories are all horror, but her writing is so satisfying, the pet never dies, and at least 2 books have a goth barista hero to some degree.
I haven't read many horror books, but I did recently read Bunny by Mona Awad and really liked it (so much so that I want to reread + annotate it because I didn't do that the first time) it's compared to Jennifer's Body and Heathers so maybe it's more of a dark comedy but there's plenty of creepy and mysterious events. For sci-fi, I always recommend The Man Who Fell to Earth by Walter Tevis :)
The dream. I went to a similar artist's estate. I sent you pics of cool purse made of a book & a vintage ice bucket! I got amazing good quality art supplies & the biggest water color paper pad I've ever seen. Size of a big canvas. & matching giant clip board. A piece of her original art, some risqué art she collected. And her husband's OG roll top desk. Ooo & handmade mug from Japan. All for a whopping $40. AGREE re: Respect. I stayed to help tidy & box.
Oh & coolest old house with original stove. House itself was a work of art. Also they gave me her bonsai cactus bc I promised to love her. She's thriving & had babies
1. My dream estate sale would be a quilter with a fun fabric stash. I love quilting and I especially love weird and vintage fabrics. I actually bought an old green Singer sewing machine at an estate sale - it's not in great shape but it's super pretty, one of these days I"ll get it fixed up.
2. I love watching Rachel Maksy! She does a lot of cosplay, vintage fashion, whimsical home diys, and is also generally cozy and fun to watch. She's moved away from the types of straightforward fashion videos she used to do, but still regularly styles thrifted stuff as well.
3. I read Between Two Fires after you mentioned it in a video recently, and I think you'd like a book called Slewfoot, by Brom. I've also been really enjoying spooky books this fall :3
I work at a retirement home which has a thrift store in the basement. It’s open twice a week and those are my favorite days! Sometimes the thrift store will host apartment sales if they have a large quantity of items that won’t fit in the actual thrift store. If someone has passed or has to downsize. Recently someone had a legit estate sale and a third party came in and priced everything. So that was my first “official” one. The lady that had passed was an artist. Her apartment was so beautiful and she had a lot of art supplies. I ended up getting a cat water color (I’m not sure if she painted it or someone else). I am a cat owner/lover so I hung it up in my office. 😻 As for RUclips channels I really enjoy Alex Micheal Mae. She mainly does fashion continent. She highlights brands that are more size inclusive. I also really enjoy Carrie Dayton. She is also a body positive creator and has a seperate volg channel where she tries things seem on tik tok and day in the life content.
Love Caroline Winkler! She's like a sassy big sister who makes interior design but also general life/advice content that just hits deeper for me.
I LOVED Project Hail Mary. I listened to the audiobook and loved the way that Rocky's voice was portrayed.
my dream estate sale would probably be in a house with kooky and creative interior decor! Books I'd recommend are anything written by Shirley Jackson, and a RUclipsr I''m loving rn is Caroline Winkler :)
OH MY GOSH I went to that estate sale!!!!! I think you were there before me cause a lot of stuff was gone (I think I went on the 12th) but I got a few markers and small tools and a super cute journal! I knew you lived in Columbus and I've been waiting for the moment I bump into you at a thrift store cause I'll probably lose all my marbles 😭 you're so creative and inspiring!
I'll have to check out Allison's RUclips, I desperately need to find some new artsy ones too before the full hibernation time is upon us 🥲
I can totally recommend Valerie Lin. She talks about art, finding inspiration, mindset... Her videos are sooo lovely and her paintings are simply amazing!✨😍 Everything is super calming and aesthetic.
It would be so cool to go to an artist's estate sale. Just exploring what they used, and how they organized it. Fantastic finds!
Recently discovered Becky Chambers, and I am obsessed! Wayfarer series is like star trek tng in vibes and so so cozy. It explores all types of interpersonal relationships. Monk and robot books are also wonderful. Gave me good mushi shi vibes, no like spirits in the books, but the headspace it puts me in is the same.
yayy I also love becky chambers!! to be taught, if fortunate forever lives in my soul ^^
Channels that I love (along with yours of course:)
tofu goob
hannah lee duggan
Linh Truong
from tree to sea
little tiny egg
Claire Saffitz
So excited for more art! Your sketch in blue ink of a woman was so freaking cool and the flowers are STUNNING!
wow! thank you for your recommendations, I've instantly added 3 of them to my list :)
I don´t think estate sales are a thing here in Belgium, but if they would exist, would love a stagey one, like with old playbills and stuff. I do love a good book, I really like Neil Gaiman, good omens will remain one of my faves... and loved your artwork!
Jonna Jinton and her husband Johan are my absolute favorite! She's living my wildest dreams and I live vicariously through her
My ideal estate sale: art stuff, books, books, books, crystals/rocks, plants, any vintage clothes or shoes, accessories ❤
I’m always here for more crafty content! RUclipsr-wise, I’m loving Leena Norms and Gittemary Johansen, plus this random adorable Scotsman that just popped up in my feed, the Unpicker (great thrift flips, great accent!). Book wise, I’m not far in but am suggesting Never Whistle at Night, an Indigenous dark fiction anthology. Oh, and fantasy estate sale-wise, cool old kitchen stuff in good shape, and great vintage buttons. Glad you’re taking good care of yourself!
I recommend Christy Anne Jones, Ariel Bissett, and Withwendy for cozy/bookish/DIY content!
Honestly I have been hyperfixating on your videos lately because it’s incredibly cozy and your tone is so comforting, perfect for being sick for three weeks and having creative itch energy.
I currently have been bingeing Seanan McGuire’s October Daye series. It’s mystery fantasy with the fae world based in San Francisco and I love all her stuff anyway. She’s great at world building. And the main character isn’t a teenager, which is nice.
My ideal estate sale right now would be a seamstress. I find a lot of sewing stuff at estate sales but rarely come across someone’s fabric stash. I am on a sewing kick lately, and was working on a dress while watching this video!
Kashi trying to work the stairs is adorable :3
@TheCrafsMan (TheCrafsMan SteadyCraftin) is one creator I can't get enough of! He does all sorts of fun crafts in his crafting shed, from animation projects to kitbashing and stuff in between. He also gives Bob Ross vibes
My life motto that definitely applies to this video: if you're gonna be late, be late with a coffee 😂☕
I can rely on Grackle to pick me up, she does wonderfully homey wholesome vlogs; Atomic Shrimp, he does a bit of everything - cooking, making, foraging, always in the spirit of curiosity and kindness; and Rhett&Link, with their island of stability that is GMM, and their rambling Ear Biscuits podcast. Top-shelf comfort, right there :)
Honorable mentions: Jessica Kellgren-Fozard, witty lesbian queen (vintage fashion, lgbtq+ history, disability); Brittany Broski, sharp and funny and so unabashed; Bryony from Precious Stars Vlogs, solo mother, smart, mature and insightful.
love Atomic Shrimp!!
The Murderbot series by MarthaWells, The Wayfarer series by Becky Chambers, The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir. All easy to read, enthralling space series.
I'm so excited for your future artistic endeavors! My favorite RUclipsrs at the moment are Hazariel Costumes (cosplay and costumes), Chloë Felopulos (fashion/styling), YO'HOMEGIRL (fashion/styling), ArtsyMadwoman (rug tufting/vlogs/DIY), and Mijn Wolden (fiber-related DIY's) 💕 I also make videos, if you're into art school vlogs (I'm a weaving student) 🥰
aw i'm so glad to see someone recommend Heather (ArtsyMadwoman) - love her!!
Art supplies from an estate sale AND doodle time? The best day, the best RUclips video.
aw ! you the best!!!
Great to see you exploring the pens and ink.
I'd be here all day if I were to name all my favorite books (I work at a bookstore lol) but some sci-fi I really like that have great plot and beautiful visual styles are Arca by Van Jensen and Jesse Lonergan and On a Sunbeam by Tillie Walden.
As a Junji Ito fan myself, he's a hard sell! He's made masterpieces and he's also made some...stories that I'm like uh ok, if you say so lol. I always suggest his Cat Diaries. Perfect mix of creepy imagery and humor.
Recently I’ve been obsessed with Emma in the moment- they talk about craft/arts related drama which is surprisingly intense at times! Their videos are really fun to listen to while chilling and working on your own projects!
Caroline Winkler for sure! Also Paige Wassel, and you of course! My three favsss :)
My favorite books that stand out for me this year: The People in the Trees by Hanya yanigihara, What Moves the Dead by t. Kingfisher and my Best Friend's Exorcism by Grady Hendrix.
I've got to shout out Joann Salmon. She started her channel this year and she does art vlogs. Her vibe is so chill with a little sly humor and cute animations.
My book recommendation is The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold. Anything she's ever written, really, but I think that might be her best one. I've never seen a fantasy religion/magic system done quite that way.
what a nice way to honor somebody via an estate sale
Comfort youtuber is definitely etelan. She makes GORGEOUS dolls and her voice is so soothing!
Edit: Also, if you've been into horror short stories with a bit more hope at the end (lol), I recently read a short story collection by Stephen King called 'If It Bleeds'. I know Stephen King is thought of as being really horrifying and gritty but these were just awesome (still horror but not egregious) stories that were built off of amazing concepts and were very cool to read. Very human experience-ey. I still think about them all the time.
It needs an army green camo patterned background with a few small rips revealing a black chintz material underneath. ❤
This time of year I love Authenblissity. Lesley does a Vlogmas that is relaxing and introspective. I also love An Unexpected Gypsy, Leena Norms, and the decluttering project that The Carla Project is doing with her sister.
It's not fashion and it's not books, but one of my favorite comfort RUclips creators is Bentley House Minis. She's so sweet and creative, it's a pleasure to watch her projects progress.
