Can we just appreciate for a moment how many things went wrong for Kathleen in this video, yet she did not give up? She fell asleep and missed the start of her 24 hour window, her camera died on her while doing the block cutting, the paint was wrong, her collar idea didn't go to plan, the audio died, then she had to leave for a work trip. Even the plant refused to cooperate. Two good lessons here, one of which she pointed out was to just roll with problems that come up because they bring new ideas, but the second is... it is okay to ask for help. She phoned a friend that helped point her in the right direction on the paint and the method. Well done on not giving up and knowing when to reach out, Kathleen. [This is not an entry for a t-shirt although they are very cute. That style of t-shirt and I are not on speaking terms. We are frenemies occasionally. Otherwise, we agree to ignore that the other exists. For anyone reading this, may the odds in be your favor.]
Slow thrift flips / crafts is the ultimate slow fashion . I too used to be frustrated with my slow projects but a change in mindset really helped me embrace the fun
Heya Kat-leen, hehe. First time commenting. Love love love your channel! I'm a 62 yr old former 80's club kid from London, and I've been thrifting since 1980. Yup. But I'll admit that I was down in the dumps fashion-wise for the last ahem/cough years, until I discovered your videos. Oh how you've re-ignited the fashion flame of creative dressing in me! I truly believe the 2xl yellow shirt was perhaps meant for me, and I'll tell you why: 1. I got married last year and am thinking of changing my first name to Kat when I submit my name change, 2. My hubby loves it when I say "the kit kat club" (in a cutesy voice of course!) when referring to our furry fam of five furballs, and finally, and this is the sad one 3. I lost my beloved 18 yr old tuxedo cat (Scribbles) to cancer 3 mths ago. We planted black and white tulips on his lil grave, but squirrels quickly dug up some of them - grr. Anyhoo, thanks for everything you do to encourage our creative juices to flow. Much love, Kat
In earlier comments, someone remarked how great it was to watch Kathleen face one problem after another. Actually, not "problems" just that things she didn't expect kept happening. She's great. She demonstrates clearly and sincerely the wisdom of artists who know there are not mistakes - just new opportunities for learning. And she does it with style and humor.
Easy fix, coming from a fellow artist. Take the black stamp and trace the nose where you want it on the stamp. Carve out the extra rubber that you outlined on your black stamp. Now you have an open space to place the nose and no overlapping ink. Also, When ink gets spotty you can always paint over it with a paintbrush for a more opaque color.
This is why your channel is so inspiring - it's okay to try, to change plans, to get messy, to take 432 hours if you need to! Love every single vid. And the yellow XXL warms my heart...
I love that you show the reality of DIY with almost no editing! Makes me feel okay about leaving projects hanging in there waiting to be finished and finding myself feeling really unproductive, it’s okay! We live in a world of immediacy and seeing this kind of content online is what we need 🥺 That being said and as a fellow Kit Cat Klock fan, I would love the lilac shirt with the blue ribbon 🍀 Love the color combo! ☔️💐
The little deer with its leggies out would be a v cute print (and imagine the printed bow on its head too so cute wtf?). Anyway I would bloody love the matchy matchy tee🎀✨
I love that you keep in mess ups and abandoned ideas. It makes things seem so much more doable. Like mistakes are okay, falling short of original plans is ok! Lilac
A Sunday Kathleen video brightens my weekend! Kashi's butt fur was too much! Poor doggo. The napping deer was precious. 🦌I'd love the lilac shirt, so cute! Perfect for a nice stinky spring.
Great video, Kathleen. I love how you include all your steps in getting the process to work. As a certified perfectionist, I often get frustrated when I don't get things right the first time. Your thoughtfulness and patience are great reminders to give myself a break and enjoy the journey. The white XL tee... please... and thank you...
Of any DIY and crafting channels I’ve watched, yours is truly the one that has made me feel like maybe I could do these sorts of projects too! I love that you show the real highs and lows of the process, and you’re endlessly creative! Thanks for the awesome video as always, and I’d love to receive the purple or white tee!
Took many a print class in college for my art degree. Kathleen's vid perfectly demonstrates the process...the losses, the wins, and the appreciation of the little quirks, new information, and skills you find along the way. It's a love-hate thing lol. Also, I mad respect how though the interchangeable hat/collar idea didn't 100% work out, Kathleen used that as a way to adapt to using buttons and ribbon, which imo makes the shirts even better 🤌💋
Kathleen illustrated, quirkiest of queens, majesty of crafting, mother of baby kashi, creator of whimsy, magical arteest, I kneel before you to request a double XL sunshine colored chemise and vow to cherish it until the end of time! (but really...great job, this is such a fun video!!) =)
I love the white XL! Also, the process was exhilarating. The full on, the suddenly stop, the recalibration, the final amazing result! Love the journey - can’t wait for the style challenge!
I love the fact that you documented the whole process and everything that changed! Sometimes very polished crafting videos on other channels make real life crafting feel like such a failure, but changes are part of the process. Also, I loooveee the white xl one, so crossing my fingers for that one!😍🤞
I would love the white XL tee! I LOVE this DIY so much - you’re channel was the first thing to start me on my DIY and making clothes journey that i started at the end of 2023. Thank you so much for all the lovely, cosy vids 🕺⭐️
The jacquard Neopaque colorants are my allllll time favorite fabric medium, and you can layer them! Best results on very tight woven fabric/leather but it’s totally possible on knits, just make sure you set each color in between 🥰
The cheery energy through set backs is always uplifting to see. Trouble shooting happens in any project and not getting bogged down in it can be hard! Love the purple shirt! ❤
Thank you for the most excellent breakfast entertainment! I have had block printing supplies for some time and have been hesitant to try it out. It’s inspiring to see you dive right into projects! I’d love the yellow tee 😍
Love the trial and error of it all, as someone who is currently moving into crochet and knitting you very quickly learn that it really is all trial and error! I’d love the white xl tee please Kathleen!!
When you set your rollers down, you should flip them over. The rubber will get flat spots over time. My printmaking teacher use to get onto us all the time for it
This was so fun! Even you showing us how you made the stamps I was still like… lawd so much work. Love that you kept going with all the iterations. I’d love the xl one - fingers crossed!
This video has given me the itch to spice up my old plain tees!! The cat clock prints came out so tooot 😩 It’s my bday in feb so I hope it gives me extra luck. 😏 I’d love the medium black or the white XL one! 🖤🤍
I love watching your creative process! Your videos are so cozy and so positive, they keep me motivated during the week! Would love to rock that yellow tee if given the chance. Thanks Kathleen!
Adore the lilac boy! SO often we encounter obstacles but creativity finds its way. Thank you for being so real about the struggles during a crafting process 🍬
I would love the white yellow or lilac tee 🥰 You did such an awesome job with these! I wonder if stamping the nose or bow in white first and then the colour over would help them show up?
I loved seeing the process of making the blocks. I have always wanted to do that myself. It’s great to see you be you. Authentic and fun. BTW, I have a tuxedo cat that would totally lay on these shirts and take a nap.
I love that you did printmaking with the tees! I find the process is so interesting even if it didn't go exactly as you planned. I especially like the lilac tee!
You've gotten me back into thrifting and I thrited the cutest dress yesterday!!! I would love the other white (XL) shirt. We also have not one, not two, but THREE tuxedo cats in my household and it would match them perfectly!!!!
The 1970s housed my Kindegarden to grade four years and you better believe I partook in a plethura of potato stamp art pieces! Did they make it to the fridge? I don't even remember but I do remember feeling really good about myself and my artistic abilities when I was around 7 yrs old! I sure would like to have the lilac or black t shirt!!! Thanks!🤟
Omg!! I too am obsessed with Jenna Phipps and her new house endeavors so I love to hear you mention her. I also think I would die for that cute little guy on the black shirt. The green bows are everything I want in a whimsical shirt!!
These turned out so fun! I’ve been meaning to print on some of my thrifted clothes so this was very inspiring- I need to crack out my screen printing supplies! I would love the xl white shirt, or any of them honestly. ❤
The scream that came out of my mouth when I saw your kit cat clock drawing. Kathleen, you genius. I have been obsessed with that little guy since my tiny child brain first discovered his existence. Years ago I bought one second hand, unfortunately he doesn’t work but I still hung him up on my wall and I love him dearly. I also would like you to know that just the other day I thrifted the most amazing printed clown pants that would match the lilac purple shirt perfectly, all that to not so subtly request that masterpiece :’) I would be honored to wear that on my body
I’ve been trying to do linocut prints for fabric patches and I bought the wrong ink and couldn’t figure out what to use so thank you so much for this video. Plus it’s got me excited about trying it again
I've also been looking at printing some designs on t-shirts recently, but I'm a crafting infant and find embarking on things I've never tried before very daunting! At the beginning of the video I was wondering how you were going to get the neck ruffle/bow stamps to sit over the black ink, but honestly i think that turned out very toot despite not achieving the opaqueness you were envisioning. I would absolutely love the black or white shirts (I think they would fit me best)! P.s. love all the lil buddy responses 🥺
Hi Kathleen! I was working on my crochet project, while watching your video so thank you for the entertainment! I would like the white XL, but happy for any of them
The unpredictable results from printmaking are one of the reasons I adore the medium. :3 Any little mistakes or wonkiness of registration just gives the design a lovingly handmade and rustic feel. ^_^ I also love your 3D elements of ribbons and buttons. Too cute 💕! If I won, I'd choose the lilac shirt. :3c
sometimes the best things come from unexpected pivots in the process. i love the 3D elements the buttons and bows add to the print! i wonder if you were to separate the head from the body on the stamps if it would make it easier to have interchangeable neck decorations. the small purple turned out super cute and would be a welcome addition to my closet!
Uhh! I love how real you keep things. I can totally relate how frustrating and time consuming some parts of dying can be. And often times the vision and the end product don't match. They all turned out super cute and stinky! I'd love to rock the black medium one. 🎀

A) i loved this journey B) i feel inspired to try a new form of upcycle C) i would really like the white XL, but i am also willing to rejoice for whomever gets it
I'm probably your oldest viewer (I just turned 60) but I'm digging the vibe of your channel. The shirts turned out adorable! I used to have one of those clocks many years ago and have always loved them.
oh my goodness another craft i clearly need to learn! i did lino prints at school, but now i can funnify my op shop finds!! would love the white or black puh-leez 😸
OMG LITTLE CLOCK CAT MENTIONED, I love the silly little guy. I’ve been watching your videos for the last few months, and you actually inspired me to get into thrift flipping! I’ve been planning on attempting to print like this for a while, and you really helped me understand how fun (and tedious!) printing can be. You also served as a reminder that every problem has a creative solution. Also, I would love the black cat Medium tee because when I die I want my teeth turned into beads, and for those beads to be turned into bracelets so I can constantly be biting peoples wrists.
This was so fun to watch! You did amazing and I love art projects especially ones you can wear! I love the vintage cat clock design. I think the dice would have been cool too. If I got one I’d want the white XL.
This was so soothing to watch. White xl is my energy, and I am grateful to see your art shine as well as your smile! Good luck with your new team at work!
this is my favourite thrift flip/craft i've ever seen you do, and i've been subscribed since you had under 300 subs!! your channel just gets better and better
Oh - these are fab! I'd love the white XL please Kathleen. I love that you tackle the type of projects I'm too scared to attempt😂 one day though, one day......
I'm so happy you released a video about block printing, I was researching this technique earlier this week because I really want to try it. Now thanks to you I have valuable information, and I feel even more motivated to try it! I would love the medium black 🖤
Hi Kathleen! I would love the small lilac shirt please! I'm glad you were able to stick with this project even though it ended up taking a while and there were a few unforeseen complications. As a fellow artist, I very much understand! I love the kitty clock design you chose, and the decision to use bows and buttons?? Aa! As usual, I love the Louie Zong music you use
What should we print next? Wrong answers only 👹
Would love to see a little floral design for spring...
😊

I think the dice will be really cool. Also, maybe a dragonfly or butterfly that you stripe your chosen colors on the block before you print it? ❤

totally! the journey is the best part... as treacherous as it might be 😆 thanks for watching!
The white xl tee! I love that you really tried your best on these to make them adorable, and chose a bigger size range for the clothes!
Printing a grilled cheese sandwich would be fun! Have the yellow/orange cheese hanging down the side. Also I'd love that small purple tee 💜
The little deer with its leggies out would be a v cute print (and imagine the printed bow on its head too so cute wtf?). Anyway I would bloody love the matchy matchy tee🎀✨

You did such an awesome job with these! I wonder if stamping the nose or bow in white first and then the colour over would help them show up?
do you think the bow printed on would work better if you first did a layer of white over the black with the bow stamp and then the colour?

There are only two mistakes one can make along the road to truth; not going all the way, and not starting.

I have been so interested in trying out print/stamp making! Thank you for this lovely inspiration ❤ I'm throwing my hat in for the white shirt!
I love how you show us that anti-perfectionism is the soul of creativity. My wish is to be chosen for the black medium.
Oh i love the purple one!! I’m also proud of you that you still finished the project!!
I would like the white x-large. I am just impressed you kept at it and finished the shirts! I have many, many unfinished projects.
I might have just found my next fixation craft. I’ve always wanted to try the stamp making. Awesome design. I’d love to own the white XL tee. 💜
sometimes the best things come from unexpected pivots in the process. i love the 3D elements the buttons and bows add to the print! i wonder if you were to separate the head from the body on the stamps if it would make it easier to have interchangeable neck decorations. the small purple turned out super cute and would be a welcome addition to my closet!
the purple one is too precious i promise i can give her a good home!
Uhh! I love how real you keep things. I can totally relate how frustrating and time consuming some parts of dying can be. And often times the vision and the end product don't match.
They all turned out super cute and stinky! I'd love to rock the black medium one. 🎀
Love your perseverance! I’m just getting back into linocut and your tenacity and gentleness through the process inspire me 🫶🏻 also would loveeee the small purple boi, we love 💜

I'm probably your oldest viewer (I just turned 60) but I'm digging the vibe of your channel. The shirts turned out adorable! I used to have one of those clocks many years ago and have always loved them.
You are so creative. I usually don' t wear lots of colors but the yellow one is just so sweet.❤

So nice to see I’m not the only one who takes weeks to finish projects. The white xl would be so cool to add to my wardrobe.
hellooo ty for talking abt printing i’ve been meaning to try screen printing but might start with block printing first!
This was so soothing to watch. White xl is my energy, and I am grateful to see your art shine as well as your smile! Good luck with your new team at work!

I love the length of the ribbon on the medium black one and the blue ribbon on lilac is soo cute
Black medium or purple!! Love them all! Thanks for showing the whole process.
I would love the XXL yellow one! I am also drooling over Jenna's house...and your house. Absolute dreams, the both of them!
Very cute! Well done!👏👏👏 and yes I am. Excited for Jenna’s new house.
These are all very TOOT... but my heart is set on the small lilac tee. Fingies crossed! Thanks for blessing us with a 22-minute video, Kathleen xxx
Love Love Love the white one just to be matchy matchy. Another great video Kathleen and thank you for getting me through my work day
