    • G35 Auto Transmission ...
This is part 2 of 2 of the quick overview of my process of swapping out the automatic transmission on my G35
Here I separate the old transmission from the engine then mount on the replacement. After, I reinstall the engine and transmission in the car. Then reassemble everything such as the intake manifold, reattach the harness and hoses, reconnect the driveshaft and exhaust. Then finally refill the fluids and take it on a test drive.

You didn’t have to take the whole front end apart and remove your engine bro! You could of gotten that trans out with everything in place you would just need to have some long long extensions to remove the bell housing bolts but anyway you already did it and if everything worked out for you good job! Stay up and Keep on wrenching brotha! 🔧

You’re definitely right lol. Had a difficult experience the first time with my first engine swap when I only pulled engine and left trans in. This was basically just practicing pulling both at the same time to see how it went . Def coulda dropped the trans by itself. Appreciate you 🤝🏾

Do you bolt the torque converter down before bolting down the transmission housing? I can not get the trans and motor to line up without it coming off

Put the torque converter in the trans first then bolt trans to engine. Then you can spin the crank on the engine to line the converter up with the holes on the flywheel and bolt it up

@@_CallMeR3dd sorry to bother again bro but after turning the crank pulley do I need to put it at tdc before starting up again? If so how would I go about that?

Im lost and need some help... please lol, I did an engine swap on one of my gs and when I put my transmission back on I turned the crank bolt in order to hook back up the torque converter bolts but I forgot to mark my starting point. I'm 98% sure Im f***** and need to retime the engine now but I'm hoping somebody might just have an answer.

Idk Brody I’m pretty sure you’re fine if I read it right. I’m guessing you saying the bolt holes from the converter to the flywheel don’t line up correctly for you to put the bolts in. If so you kinda just gotta work yo fingers in there and turn the converter and/or the crank until they do. Shouldn’t throw off your timing at all

so basically you just unbolt all the bolts around transmission and it’s free ?
