    On this video I show how this trouble code can be fixed if this is the issue that is going on with the vehicle. Keep in mind that if your Transmission is contaminated with coolant this will not be the issue. The whole Transmission need to be Rebuild if contaminated.
    Hope you like field trips, enjoy the video.

      @@hamzi1220 hello hru? I'm having the same issue out of my 2006 Infiniti m45 I sent my valve body to street smart which is suppose to be the best at repairing valve bodies. I got it back reinstall it worked for 400 miles now it's stuck in high gear if I clear my code it drives fine for about 40 miles then it sticks again. Can u help me figure this problem out?

    Thank you Mr Gutierrez, this video helped me immensely. Videos like this help me feel more informed when I walk in to a mechanic's shop. The first guy I took it to was not able (or not willing) to do this job. He basically gave us the run around for 4 days! I eventually found somebody in my area with your similar skill and customer service (soldered it the same day I brought it in), it saved me over $1,000.
    Appreciate your video. Can't thank you enough for posting this.

    Almost 40 years ago I completed an automotive repair trade school.. I only stayed in that field about 2-3 years and ended up doing HVAC. BUT, I greatly appreciate this and once I find an area to lay up the car for a while, I'm sure this is the problem! There was absolutely no issues, and just got in to drive one day and had the issues you went over. THANK YOU for the detailed video Hiram!

    So I just completed this repair on my wife’s 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. We have had this vehicle since it had only 9k miles on it. Now it has 265k on it. We were returning from the in-law last weekend, and it went into limp mode. I’ve been waiting for it to die since 150k so I wasn’t surprised. I figured the trans was toast, and it wouldn’t be worth fixing. With the guidance of this video, I fixed it for no cost except new trans fluid, which it certainly needed anyway. I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to make this video! Gracias amigo!!!!

    Found it!!! Your video saved me several grand!!! Thanks for posting!!! I've hit a snag where I can't shift past "4" and when I'm in "D", the gears will not engage. It was shifting fine before I dropped the valve body so it's something I did. Trial by fire, LOL! Thanks again!

    • @stefangruber5097
      @stefangruber5097 7 лет назад +2

      Trey just spotted your comment - I reinstalled valve body myself after following the steps in the video - I think it solved my issue bc the error codes went away and so did check engine light but my X literally won't change gears when I move the shifter. I thought maybe the shifter linkage was not connected to the plunger and pin on the valve body correctly so I double checked that but still nothing. I'm totally stumped right now.

    • @wtlewis
      @wtlewis 7 лет назад

      Stefan, I did the same thing. My gears wouldn't shift and I dropped the valve body, put it back in and had the same problem. When I dropped it a second time I noticed that the cable that's linked to the shifter was jammed in it's slot. it's supposed to move freely in that slot. Once I found that and re-seated it correctly. I was able to shift.

    • @stefangruber5097
      @stefangruber5097 7 лет назад

      Thanks for responding; I dropped it a second time to check to see that everything was engaged properly in the valve body and the linkage and when I moved the shifter, the plunger and pin moved in the valve body so I believe everything there is linked correctly. I was able to confirm visually shifter movement moving the plunger and pin in the valve body.
      Is there another cable linkage somewhere "upstream" of the valve body itself? Perhaps another cable are you referring to? I think I'm pretty damn close to solving this... again no check engine lights or error codes the computer which is probably a good sign.
      Thanks again for taking the time to answer back.

    • @wtlewis
      @wtlewis 7 лет назад

      Stefan Gruber
      Wow! You are close. Now, when I first started troubleshooting the problem I opened up the console surrounding the shifter. It's pretty easy to disassemble and if I remember correctly there's another cable connection there. I found a video on how to break it down. I'd check there.

    Thanks for making this video. I had a P1757 on my 2006 Infiniti G35 and this was the problem. Mostly followed your directions and eventually had everything fixed. I did a bad job of reading the manual so the first time we did this the car didn't start because we didn't connect the transmission to the manual valve (and the car didn't know it was in park). So, do this but also read the repair manual.

    • @salxom
      @salxom 5 лет назад

      @@MrGrungydude Pretty straight forward repair. First, disconnect the battery. Drain fluid. Follow the video to take everything off. Very carefully take off the plastic cover of the TCM. I had such a hard time and didn't want to break it so I had a friend hold it open with a flat head screw driver while I solder. Use a small wire to reinforce the solder or it'll break again. Use silicon to seal the transmission pan. Connect all wires and screw everything back in. Fill fluid. Connect battery. Start engine until hot and check fluid to make sure it's at the correct level. That's it ! Ask a friend for help, this is difficult with 1 person. If the car doesn't start up again, you either connect the solenoids in the wrong location, damaged more wires, or forgot to connect something. Best of luck.

    Hiram what rebuild kit and shift kit would you use for a 46/RE transmission? Could you tell me if there are any issues that are common with this transmission I should look for.

    Doing this to my 2005 get sedan. Same issue, transmission won't shift into 5th and I have the dreaded transmission front solenoid code. I may be doing this exact same thing, lol. This video has been helpful so far for me. I'll update once I have completed the fix.

    Just putting mine back together was wondering if the solenoids are specific, obviously some have tops and some don't but as far as which one in a certain hole? Thanks!

    I have a 2007 infiniti m35 and recently replaced the low coast clutch solenoid after a run of a check engine light revealed that it was the problem. Based on your video, my car came with the nachi style solenoid and I replaced it with a Mitsubishi solenoid. I also went ahead and replaced all the solenoids. Now my car shifts hard from 2nd to 3rd (feels like someone rear ended me in the back) every time it shifts. Also, at first start during cold weather it sometimes goes into limp mode when shifting from 2nd to 3rd and would take at least a couple of seconds before it engages again. My question is, is it then solenoids causing the issue or is my TCM failing? Just would like to know which part I need to fix. Thank you for your assistance!

    Mr: Gutierrez, thanks for the info. There's not much out there to confirm what I need to do...May I ask your advice, please? I have a 05 Frontier Nismo. Had problems with the transmission recent throwing codes like P1764 Direct Clutch Solenoid Function and 1769 High And Low/Reverse Clutch Solenoid Circuit. So my son and I took the valve body out brought a refurbished set of solenoids fitted them. It was OK for a day or so but now it's acting the same way. Anyway after research I have come to the conclusion that before I owned the truck it may have had coolant contamination due to rust on the TCM metal surround and on the old solenoids. So I've been trying to figure out if I buy a reman/refurb valve body with the TCM and solenoids on it, can I install that, then take it to be programmed, or do I have to somehow download the TCM data from the existing, one remove the existing one, then install the refurb one and upload the data to it
    Thanks a bunch

    If I wanted to change my transmission filter do I need to remove the valve body because I seen those two nuts that were attached to the long bolts in the valve body when you removed it.

    Hi Hiram, I have a 2006 M35x 168k miles, and while driving 75mph with cruise control on, transmission shifts into neutral and engine light comes on with code P1774. I pull over and restart the car and engine light stays on but drives/shifts normally. Shop charged me $530 and said no coolant contamination, the electrical trace line was not broken and they replaced the solenoid. Directly after getting my car back from the shop, the same exact issue happened while driving on the same stretch of road with the cruise control on at 75mph. Is there something else that should have been checked on the TCM or solenoid?
    PLEASE HELP!

    1 question. Shudders and bucking going into the reverse gear on a 2008 Infiniti EX35 Journey AWD.... What would be the issue? The 5 forward gears shifts smooth and responsive.
    Please let me know. Thank you!!

    Hi Hiram, Just changed the control valve body and ecm on a Nissan Frontier 2005, it was giving the p1757 code before and the circuit was broken just like in your vid. Now it has been replaced , the transmission does not shift , it just stays in a high gear regardless of the speed of the vehicle. Before it was changed it would stop driving all together. I would turn the ignition key off and then it would drive like normal for a few mins after that then stop again. What could be the problem now, no debris in the oil pan and it reverses fine. The output speed sensor is connected and the speedometer works. No Codes at present now .Thanks

    Hiram, can you confirm that the RE5R05A Transmission, used by Nissan and the A5SR1 used by Kia, is the same 5 speed RWD transmission? You would be doing me and a bunch of early Kia Sorento owners a huge favor. Kia suggest that we use APolloil Red 1 K, which is super expensive in my country. I am simply looking for a cheaper alternative. If you can recommend one, we would appreciate it very much. Thanks so much for all the great work that you do.

    Hey, thanks a lot for this video man!I have 05 pathfinder right now with p1759 code, ( falls into safe mode) I showed your video to my mechanic and he said that it is too complicated and he would not do it. So I will do this myself.I also have 05 Armada which leaks fluid, so I did put some fluid in it and got it moving forward but it wont go in reverse. You think fixing tcms on both cars would work? And Is it possible for regular DIY guy to do this?

    great video Mr hiram. I have "05" G35 coupe I just purchased.previous owner changed the transmission. Now it won't stay running past 20 seconds. No acceleration. 2 codes came up for valve body and alternator. I took it to 3 transmission shops. they all tell me the previous owner must have put in the wrong year transmission. my question to u is ,should I change the valve body or do I have to find another transmission?

    • @matthewlewis3503
      @matthewlewis3503 5 лет назад

      @@alex_y4290 I didn't the car has 170000 miles on it. I got a new drain pan and reused the fluid and filter. i was surprised to see a drain plug on the transmission pan. I lost some fluid so I just top it off with new. there's only like 6 bolts u gotta take out of the valve body and filter to get the valve body out and the bolts are different size but there's a number on the head of the bolt. i took out way more than needed and had a hard time putting them back where they need to go.

    Hi Hiram, I have a 2003 g35 similar to this this car. I have a p0720 code meaning a speed sensor. In this video I saw you disconnect the wiring harness to the body but I don't see the actual sensor. Where is the sensor located? I'm having trouble finding it

    Cool, not having the same issue, but need to drop my valve body and inspect the TCM.
    I was told by a valve body remanufacturer that my p1716 (Turbine revolution Sensor) code , that only happens when cold is most likely the sensor being ever so slightly too far away from the drum it is reading. She said that the sensor should protrude the thickness of two nickels above the plastic.
    Having worked on the tcms aton, do you see a way that the front sensor can be adjusted to protrude correctly?
