- Amber Heard testifies during her defamation trial against her ex-husband Johnny Depp about the "nightmare" situation involving actor James Franco, who was co-starring with Heard in a film, which Depp was very unhappy about. Heard said Depp was physically and verbally abusive on a plane flight with others also on board, accusing her of enjoying filming romantic scenes with Franco, which Heard said was ridiculous.

As a clinician I was rarely able to see my own patients make eye contact when describing the details of their horrible abuse. Amber has no problem looking at a jury of strangers while going over this detail. Dr. Curry was 100% correct in her diagnosis of Amber Heard. She is demonstrating every dichotomy associated with Borderline Personality Disorder.

There’s no fool proof way of how a victim should behave. A victim can laugh around all the time-a coping mechanism. A victim of any abuse can abuse back their abusers in any way. A victim of abuse sometimes are not scared of their abusers. Don’t mislead people. Shame on you. Also, every human is different-no human behave like a same way when they are abused. Go deal with different people and then you will know. Inexperienced people rule the Internet and world.

It;s amazing to me how many people say "I think I had a broke nose" if your nose is broke you know it, blood gushes and gushes from it and you wind up with 2 black eyes and a major swollen nose. It takes weeks for the evidence of it to go away.

Her testimony is very difficult to watch. So many lies, bad acting and she's crossed the line way too many times. Johnny is doing well by not giving her eye contact, but if this is hard for me to watch, I can't imagine how he's feeling 😢
His body langauge shows that her testimony is touching a nerve. He keeps his head down, bending over. He is not proud of himself and hearing about what he's put her through. But he brought her to court so now they both have to relive this ill fated relationship. Neither one of them will gain anything from this - money awarded or not awarded...

I have been fortunate to be in some very kind, loving relationships where I was very loved. If I was ever in a vulnerable state they would NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS take a photo of me in that state. The part on the plane would have witnesses. She stated Depp’s security and staff were there. So, they should be able to find witnesses of physical abuse, but all of his staff said they’ve never seen Johnny Depp violent toward her.

Its hard to believe that she “avoids him” and doesn’t fight back, when everyone has been testifying that she would initiate the fights. In fact we know that Johnny was the one fleeing and running away, while Amber would tell him to stay, or to fight.
Yeah, her sending a thousand texts when he’s not even responding at all. And even then she claimed she was trying to stop him. There’s a comedic element to this, no matter how serious it is. You can’t make this stuff up.

Please remember, while I totally agree she is making most of her testimony up. In the end it will depend on what/how the Judge “instructs the Jury”. This case is about the op-ed piece she wrote for the Washington Post. Johnny Depp has to prove in this case, which is very different than the UK trials… that because of her op-ed (even though she did not specifically name him) he lost work and it caused damage to his career. Even if the worst does happen & he does not prevail, hopefully it will prove a cautionary tale to others like her & she will be done in Hollywood, never to be cast again…..

Really worried for Johnny. I know his decision to sue, but he has to to get justice. This must be having a big impact on his fragile nature. Having this monster spew such nonsense, plus possible PTSD from his relationship with her. As he mentioned he turns to substances to numb the pain. I hope he has the right people around him.
I was sexually assulted and went to the police after my older sister encouraged it. A year down the line two police officers came to my house to deliver the news that the case would not proceed to court. I learnt how lack of evidence, cost, likelyhood of the case winning determined how it would even be viewed as a criminal offense...

The purpose is so the jury can see your face properly in order to cast more of a comprehensive judgement. If your not looking at the jury, they can't read you facial expressions and body language.

She probably just thinks that she will come across more believable and pull on their heart strings more if she looks at them. She could choose to not look or not care but maybe she's afraid of loosing and doesn't want it to come across like she's hiding or thinks her acting is so good they will fall for her lies. Either way, you are supposed to look at the jury, so I would use the 1000 other obvious reasons there are to explain how she's obviously a guilty lier, other than her looking at the Dury.

If you're not able to feel emotions well or have a lack of empathy, all you can do is try and copy.
That said, to cry with tears can be trained, so that you can trick your body within seconds to be a full on waterfall.
Amber does not seem to have any kind of empathy, and also not the ability to connect to other emotions than anger. So she is trying to copy. But it doesn't work, because she even didn't care enough as to observe people who have been abused or do any other form of research. She had a lot of time to prepare. And all she came up with is this mimicking.
I had a boss that fake cried at me once - it was an absolutely ridiculous attempt and it was all I could do to not burst out laughing. I was SO embarrassed for her - and also pissed off as mostly all I could think was "are you kidding? how stupid do you think I am?!" Manipulators. Can't stand them.

Something about the way she keeps swearing, with relish, while recounting her stories (lies) feels very wrong to me.
I was also a victim of DV, and unlike her, I seldom invited my friends over because I was afraid that my husband will act up in front of them. I also had PTSD and had regular vivid nightmares of each incident of abuse and how he treated me. I was also afraid of leaving the house , and if I did some grocery shopping I was in a rush because I didn’t want to make him angry if stayed out too long. But now I’m free, I have peace and calm environment without him around. I don’t see these same situations with Amber Heard, making me doubt her testimony.

She said she stuck around after the first year "to figure him out." Sound more like the words of a predator than a victim to me.

I've had my nose broken in elementary school (got accidentally headbutted) and that caused a serious concussion and to this day I have a hump on my nose where the fracture healed. She's been whacked in the nose, headbutted in the nose and there's no record of emergency room visits to have her nose set back in place, no record of any nose jobs to fix the damage that she alleges Johnny caused. Someone tell her that getting whacked in the face in real life is different than getting whacked in the face on set.

I'm not proclaiming either one of them an angel or evil, nor am I trying to instigate a "heated" debate, but are you saying abuse from a drug addict is somehow justified simply because the addict was under the influence? Sounds to me as though both were toxic in one form or another. And does it really matter which one was "more" abusive if each one is being abusive toward the other? For example, if my wife punches me, does that give me the right to punch her back? And if I did, does that mean I don't deserve blame and she's the only one wrong because she hit me first?

Legal question - how come her restating what she said is "hearsay" but her restating what Johnny said is not? Also in his testimony he was able to recount what they both said like he would say "I asked her 'can I have the meds please' and she said 'no it's not time yet'" and even with other witnesses it's only hearsay when they say "so and so said this". I'm just genuinely curious why her recollection of her own words are deemed hearsay - is it because she's the defendant? But then why is she allowed to describe in great detail what she was doing, but not what she was saying?
