I keep telling my non Mumbai friends that mumbai local trains are packed only during rush hour. Mumbai local is the most effecient way to travel. You forgot to mention MUMBAI RAINS.
Yes but those who haven't experienced massive crowds please avoid Mumbai locals at peak hours . I being born and brought up in Mumbai , still avoid trains at peak hours as much as I can . Mumbai trains are super cheap and at an interval of 5 minutes , but the crowds are too much . Many times I couldn't get of the station I wanted to .

Also, don't forget to have the famous tea and bread at parsi/irani bakeries when you come here next. Bravo for highlighting that the role of the tourist is not to solve India's 3rd world problems. That's up to India. And that the slums aren't a tourist attraction. So refreshing to see someone "foreign" who actually gets and respects India and its people.
1) You are spot on Train ride is a must do. 2) Actual Mumbai is from VT/Churchgate to Bandra beyond that everything is too far by car and people use trains for speed. 3) Never eat from restaurants if one wants to save money. Mumbai thrives on street food. 4) Best is to stay in and around VT and Churchgate most of the places of tourist interest are there. 5) People interested in treking and history can visit the canary caves and national park in Borivili. 6) Try to break the US$20 barrier eating street food in one day! 7) Get overwhelmed by the torrential rain experienced only in Mumbai-Konkan region in any July/August no moon day. Entire city bows down and stops for 3 whole days every year!!! Beware never travel anywhere on NoMoon day during monsoon in India because of the very heavy rains experienced on those days. No wonder an ocean is named after India.

And many people in the slums are actually from villages who came to the city of dreams to get a better life and they are happy that they have make it that far..and there are some who are struggling very hard and a slum is the only place they can afford. We have ppl settled from Iran and Saudi Arabia even in Bangalore you have to visit kamanahalli in Bangalore for that. And the best Irani restaurant I would say “Ayda” at church street Brigade Road.

Mumbai local train is the fastest mode of local transport . Even our chief minister of Maharashtra opted for it for an official visit because even helicopter would not have helped him because of take off and landing issues.
Cafe Britannia is the best place for Parsi food in Mumbai.. It's in south Mumbai.. It's mostly non vegetarian food.. But a berry pulao (rice) with dhansak (dal) are lovely options for vegetarians in Parsi cuisine.
Do recommend your followers to try haldiram's Haldiram's is a restaurant brand like kfc n subway except that they serve indian snacks n food. And they do it with hygiene and they got good quality of the food and great taste

Mumbai local train is the fastest mode of local transport . Even our chief minister of Maharashtra opted for it for an official visit because even helicopter would not have helped him because of take off and landing issues.

Cafe Britannia is the best place for Parsi food in Mumbai.. It's in south Mumbai.. It's mostly non vegetarian food.. But a berry pulao (rice) with dhansak (dal) are lovely options for vegetarians in Parsi cuisine.
