- An easy way of adding inhibitor to your Combi heating system if you have to use the filling loop.( Video shown is for when the threads do not match.) Also very easy if you have access through your radiators. For my other video on adding inhibitor from a bottle, (much cheaper) take this link. • How to add inhibitor i...
Buy your F1 using my Amazon link here www.dereton33.com/page3006.html
I also now have an Amazon storefront for all plumbing parts. It is www.amazon.co.uk/shop/dereton33 - Хобби
If you need to drain anything off do it via the filling loop into a bucket, that’s if no non return valve on heating side of loop of course.
will this f1 can will go throgh bi check valce of filling loop. valve is on hot side of filling loop?
The fitting on the inhibitor aerosol can can go onto the filling loop - no need to remove the valve. Any left in the loop will get pushed through by the water used to restore pressure.
The amount of water needed to be drained out will be just a bit more than the inhibitor delivers.
Thanks Rob I should have mentioned that.
Don't need to drain and fernox just screws into other end of filing loop.
@@philmanning2549 will this f1 can will go throgh bi check valve of filling loop. valve is on hot side of filling loop?
I am not sure why you are removing any more than a litre of water though arguably none needs to be removed. Two buckets is massive. Also I thought the flexible pipe can be removed from the mains connection and will fit directly onto the fernox adapter. No need to remove any valves. Also if you clean your mag filter at the same time there is no need to use any tools at all and just fill via the filter. Job done. This video looks like a very involved and long way around way of doing a simple job.
I'm only fairly competent diyer, and everything you mention here crossed my mind, hence i was looking for confirmation such as yours. Only remaining issue not addressed here, is when do we consider a full flush. Do we just keeping adding new inhibitor on top of old inhibtor treatment?
Please follow instructions on bottle or on Fernox website .
Wow after 45 years a plumber I must follow the instructions. Not do it my way.. Ha ha.
will this f1 can will go throgh bi check valce of filling loop. valve is on hot side of filling loop? how difficult to use it with bleed valce.
No it wont.
Only remaining issue not addressed here, is when do we consider a full flush. Do we just keeping adding new inhibitor on top of old inhibtor treatment? Is using twice as much inhibitor even better?
Clean flush every 5 years. do not add inhibitor on top of old. Twice as much is not recommended.
@@dereton33 Excellent, thank you for that. 👍
Hi Al nice one mate
Thanks David.
@@dereton33 will this f1 or f4 can go throgh bi check valve of filling loop. valve is on hot side of filling loop?
Top job Al
Thanks PB.
That’s the hard way of doing it
Big al You have done it wrong !!! take off one side off the fill loop attach fernox adaptor and pump straight in no need to drain anything
k20aa Ditto
The Fernox adaptor had the wrong size thread for the valve so I had to take the valve off the end of the pipe to fit it, meaning I had to drain a small bit out.
it wouldn't fit the fill loop hose ?
dereton33 Yes, but isn't the filling loop thred the same, so if you put the loop on that valve you could just screw the inhibitor thread onto it?
1/2" BSP male thread on the can of inhibator and a 1/2" BSP female thread on the end of the braided hose, should screw together no problem.
Al you must be on a day rate & not a price, you "went round the houses to get next door" with that one mate!
Yes possibly a bit long winded. Ha ha.
i appreciate the longer videos but i think you could've made an easier & lesser job of it by attaching the filling loop to the to the nozzle & squirt it in, done it many times myself mate.
The thread was not the same as the one my filling loop so I could not connect the can without taking the valve off, that then gave me a 15 mm thread for the can to screw onto. Taking the valve off meant I had to drain some of the system .
Stick it in the filter
Why did you remove the valve thats wrong..
For a better fit.
You are a right messy worker. I am not sure of the benefits of using the squirty Fernox - if you had gone to the bother of draining then you could have just poured in via a funnel.👍
Just trying to give full details, any thing that might hit the average DIYer. Just squirting it in, explains nothing, us plumbers do this job with out thinking, but you must look at it from the point of view of someone who knows nothing of our expertise. BY the way I am not a MESSY WORKER.
Norman Boyes that's a bit harsh, give the old boy a break, he knows his stuff.
Vomit Man it was more observational but yes maybe a bit harsh.I am aware he knows his craft that’s why I am subscribed and give all his videos a 👍
Al Get Jan to do the vid next time she probably knows more LOL . Only joking
She probably does. Ha ha.
I like your vids so keep them coming . All the best
Thanks will do.
