I love the artstyle and the gameplay looks really fun. I'm tempted to buy it on sale right now
It's SUCH a pretty game and I can't wait to see what some of the other locations look like! If you do take the leap, lemme know what you think!
Nice review! You would think that this game is totally for me. The settings, graphical style, top down view, loot driven... but I can't commit to buying it because of 1 thing: the combat. I can't play any Souls like type of combat. Trust me, I've tried, lol! I definitely don't have the patience for it! So I'll let all of you experts play it, and I'll watch a stream of it instead! And I don't think you can call anyone playing a souls like game a filthy casual, lol! Great video and keep up the good work!
Thanks, Dan! LoL hardly an expert but I've been trained up by games like Bloodborne and Sekiro so I guess I have a SLIGHT advantage!
You caved, lol! I can’t lie, I’ve been smacking my chops too. I think it will run on my laptop.
I couldn’t help it, user! 😂 I’ve still barely scratched the surface on this one but enjoying it thoroughly!
@@YourPlayer2so many sales, I’ll have to wait for later.
Thanks. I'm actually waiting for the official release. How's the music? (considering it's one of the greatest things from the ori games)
You're most welcome and pretty stunning so far! I need to do better about letting the audio of games breathe in the edits.
I think I will definitely enjoy this one... I like Diablo likes and top down games in general, but can also really appreciate some slower paced gameplay. And though I'm not a hardcore souls player, I completed dark souls 1 & 3 and almost all of Bloodborne. But I will wait at least for the full release. I don't typically like getting early access games, it just kind of feels like I'm spoiling the experience for myself by playing an unfinished version of the game, and then when it's finished it's not new to me anymore.
Loved both Ori games too though so when it releases and depending on reviews (if they fix the rough edges) I may actually pick it up full price to support them.
I'm the same way- like I LOVE speed and all, but I also like a slower, more deliberately paced experience that really lets you get immersed in it :) As for Dark Souls I only beat the first, but would go on to beat Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring so I've developed a real taste for brutal titles it looks like. Hopefully you can finish Bloodborne sometime and check out The Old Hunters as well!
About the optimization, I sadly cannot comment since my rig is well beyond what's needed and i easily maintain 100+fps lol. Fun fact though, I'm playing on a wireless mouse that I borrowed from a friend (Mouse and keyboard is a no no for me atm until I can choose my own bindings!) And that mouse is what (*causes*) issues to me most lol. The game supports mouse gameplay just fine, but mine has some weird delay issues from time to time! (like I swap from going north to south but sometimes it takes 1-2 seconds for the input to register) I do think it's a mouse issue and not the on the game side of things.
All in all, wonderful game, just cannot wait for more things to do to be added, which is coming up I know.
Ah ok, I'd heard a few people mention the mouse support being lackluster but I didn't know the full details. Appreciate the insights!
@@YourPlayer2 Somehow, everytime I mentionned (mouse) I meant controller lmao
Got it day one. Loving everything about it except inventory management. Tonight they are releasing their beefiest hotfix addressing performance and I think we will see an improvement for the deck
Glad you're enjoying it too! And love that they've been so responsive to feedback so far :)
Looks cool but I’ll wait for a Steam sale…
Nothing wrong with that!
Game looks cool, just wasn’t the direction I wanted moon studios to go. Was really hoping they would follow up Ori with a story driven 3D platformer similar to Kena or something.
Ah I gotcha- maybe they'll do something like that in the future!
