Thursday you guys are making awesome boots for an awesome price that allows everyday people to get a great boot. Not many people want to spend $500 on boots. And I believe your boots are the best value considering the quality.
I've had a pair of suede captains for three years. They hold up very good and still look great. The best part is that I can wear them even when it's really hot. They dispense moisture magnificently and never ever smell, even after hours of wearing.
I have 5 pair of Thursday’s and they’ve all been perfect. I wear them daily and a business casual environment but walking quite a bit. Walking of roofs and in yards and in town. Compared to a boot from places like JCPenny and Macy’s and shit like that, these are amazing. For $150-200 they’re unbeatable. Thursday keep doing what you do.
@@Sarah_Kinz I’ve been wearing the same pair of boots for over a year literally almost daily at work, climbing in Attics and on roofs and on ladders and walking a lot. The captain is the main boot for me. After a year of daily wear, it’s still the most comfortable pair I own and not a single problem with them at all. They’re aging nicely.
@@sbentsen2714 I have 5 pairs of captains, 2 pairs of cadets, 1 pair of dukes, 1 pair of scouts and 1 pair of the majors with the zipper on the side. I have some with the Thursday chrome leather and the rugged and resilient leather. Both are awesome. First pair I would recommend the captains or president for sure.
I had these boots, but had to return them after a week for two major reasons: 1. they are *VERY, VERY* narrow. Painfully so. 2. the rubber 'studs' in the sole poke up into the shoe every step you take, which also is painful when it's hitting the part of the foot right before the big toe.
I have owned TB Scout whole grain, in whiskey, for over 3 years now and am very pleased with comfort and wearability. In 2018 wore them daily walking around Europe in winter. Recently replaced the heel block with real Dainite at low cost and the cobbler remarked the boots had worn well. I am pleased with style and fit. They look great with whiskers laces or colored laces coordinated with outfit. Thanks for doing the review, I always enjoy your videos. The graph you used is called a “radar diagram” in business.
Could you please go over the Explorer style boots from Thursday boots. They’re a combat-type boot with vibram soles and they’ve never been dissected and documented before. Love your vids
I've had a pair of the scouts in the full grain Thursday chrome leather for over a year now. I wear it with a suit for work. It was so comfortable from the beginning with no issues with the sole. The only issue is the top layer (chrome?) Of the leather is pealing away in hard rub areas to where it's exposing raw leather underneath. Thursday were great and sent me a free pair of their executives.
I've had a pair of scouts for about 4 months now. I do use them as more of a dressed up boot than a daily wear, but they can take some abuse. I have worn them in summer storms with heavy rain as they are not too hot and provide decent traction / water protection.
I have a pair of these in black leather that I've owned since 2017. They've held up very well, the soles are wearing very nicely. They are extremely comfortable and are my daily shoe for the most part. As someone else mentioned, mine squeak audibly, but I think it's just a factor of the heal being nailed on. I'd buy these again, they are a very good boot for the price.
I have these exact same boots and they are very nice and can be dressed up or down easily. I have own several Thursday boots since 2017 and have been my favorite brand. I have mainly owned chukkas, I have no major complains about them just that they can be a tad bit more comfortable. I do wear them for long periods of time in the day. They really mold to your feet quickly. You can never go wrong with a pair of Thursdays. The best boots for the price and the compliments never stop. Thanks for the indepth video about what's really inside them. Instant subscription to your channel keep it up.
I own a pair of the Tobacco Scout Nubuck. It’s a very well made boot. I wear them at work all the time handsome and comfortable the latter is essential as my job has me standing for 8-9 hours on end on tile and concrete without need of steel toes. The Sole is a fairly dense crepe rubber wedge which though perhaps not as soft as some wedges is I think fairly easily on the back.
Not sure if you care about this sort of boot, but of all the chukkas I've owned over 30+ years of buying them, my favorite of all-time is the Vivobarefoot Gobi II. The dang thing is my forever everyday shoe. I still love true boots, but my feet can't deal with them much anymore these days since I've gone minimal zero-drop etc (8+ years now).... and the Gobi is the one shoe/boot I'd keep out of all, past or present. Cheers.
I like your graphic interpretation coming into play in your reviews. That's an interesting innovation into your personal thoughts on each product you review. Thanks for your reviews.
Thanks for the breakdown. Though it's a low quality leather compared to full grain, I still love suede for its aesthetics and will continue buying it occasionally.
I don’t think suede is too weak for regular office shoes. I mean, I work retail and my suede dress shoes lasted years. To the point the suede got worn smooth and shiny. I also polished it with black polish at the end to make it darker…yeah, I didn’t know much about shoes back then.
I have a pair of Colorado Boots from Australia in a similar suede style, 20 years wear and abuse even in mud and water and still going strong. You should have a look at them, great boots.
You make a very fair assessment of these. I've owned a smooth-leather pair for several years and they've held up well, certainly for the price. That said, I have wide feet and they definitely will pinch your toes. Also over time the area under the ball of the foot will compress and make them a boot you don't want to wear all day. A few hours though is fine. Based on another one of your videos I have a pair of Jim Greens on order because of the wider toe box.
Squeak! I've had a pair of Thursday chukkas in snuff suede for four years. I love the aesthetic and the suede, which is pretty close to waterproof. The soles and toes are surprisingly stiff and heavily built. I was expecting a light, floppy desert-boot type; but these are classically built boots with a floppy suede upper. However I only wear them occasionally for one main reason: the left one SQUEAKS so loudly other people notice, and I can hear and feel it through my foot! Over the years I've added and removed insoles, powder, oil, you name it, but nothing has stopped the squeak. I really hope Thursday fixes this problem--apparently it would only take a piece of fabric over the shank...
I own the black leather scout Chukka. Quality of leather seems great. Issue I have is one heel squeaks. Even with that issue I’m thinking of purchasing another pair. The style suits business casual but is versatile enough for more casual looks also.
Another great video, Weston. Thanks as always. When I first got into the heritage/GYW/high quality/rebuildable boot world around 2017 I think, Thursday Boots was my introduction. I had no idea what to look for or what was quality, all I knew was that Thursday Boots had a relatively low entry point, they were already well regarded though still not as well known, and I was getting goodyear welt construction. So I dove in with my first purchase - the Scout chukka in Brown CXL (not Thursday Chrome as they've since switched to). Then I purchased the Cavalier chelsea in Brown chrome tan second followed by the Captain in Arizona Adobe as my third Thursday Boot. I took a real liking to the heritage boot scene, obviously, so I dove in to learn what I could. And since then, I've donated the Scout chukkas, relegated the Captains for use when doing any shit task that comes up, the Cavaliers are collecting dust in my closet, and there's no chance i'll touch another Thursday Boot. Too many compromises in quality and construction compared to other options that admittedly will cost a little more but you do get a lot more for that relatively little difference. With the Scout chukkas, the grain break and creasing on the left boot was awful - just awful - while the right boot was picture perfect. Called Thursday Boots about it and got the proverbial shoulder shrug from them. The Cavaliers looked good but the right boot squeaks to the point of driving my near crazy when walking. The Arizona Adobe Captains, well they were straight up the wrong color. There was no Arizona and no Adobe about those boots. And they were already the replacement pair since I had to send the first pair back - no longer remember what was wrong with them though. 3 different boot models and a different problem with each. No thanks. And hey, maybe I just had bad luck with my purchases - 3 separate times. I'm almost positive that Nick from Stridewise has a Thursday Boots tattoo over his heart. He has apparently found his one true boot love. But things are what they are and the three boots I purchased were all disappointing.
@@fataheyable Hi, without any hesitation, if I were starting down the road of high quality boots all over again but knowing what I know now, I would start with Parkhurst first and Grant Stone second and I would not look back. Yes, you will spend around 50% more than you would with Thursday Boots, but you will get the additional value, you will get a much better boot, and you will be starting off in a much better place. If you're going to start something you might be unfamiliar with, starting it off from a solid foundation is the best way to help ensure you don't end up with regret down the road (like I did with my three Thursday purchases) or having eat the cost of early bad purchases (again like I did). Parkhurst was not founded until 2018 I think in all fairness though. Best of luck to you and enjoy the journey! There are some truly stellar and beautiful boots out there. Cool to see another Thursday product. Looks like a good construction at that price. They just released a high top version of the sneaker. Thursday, can we get a mid?
Hello from England! I love all your videos, very informative and insightful. The only problem is that I now know that all the shoes I own are terrible quality. Time to invest in some good quality shoes I think.
I bought these same boots 3 and a half years ago and I love them. They are definitely the most comfortable out the box boot Ive ever owned and the cost per wear over that span is right where I want my casual boots to be. Im Currently at about 3.5 dollars per wear on these and it will obviously get better and better.
Thanks bro! I’ve been interested in some offerings from Thursday for those reasons.. quality and price. I don’t “need” a $ 300-500 pair of boots or sneakers, just something stylish, quality, and affordable, as I plan to get a number of their products
@@jsk6390 I haven't but honestly I don't think I would recommend them for HEAVY use like that. It's a thick vibram sole so you definitely can, but I'll maybe hike in them once in a while but they're more of a casual rugged boot (oxymoron). I work in a coffee shop and that's kind of the extent of hard use I use them for. If you're looking for a dedicated hiking boot I probably would suggest something by Ariat or Red Wing.
@@samuelchristopher7957 yeah thanks man. Cuz I am as thinking about using as hiking boot I mean it looks quite tough. Okay thank you for your reply man
I’ve really been thinking about getting this exact boot. I like how that mocha suede looks. Gonna wait and see the rest of this series to decide I think.
I got Thursday Captain boots as my first non-cheap boot to replace my timberlands and the overal quality is night and day - especially the sole, which is way more durable
my brown chukka have lasted over 2 years. wear them nearly everyday, running around a hotel, survived 2 VT winters & 2 VT mud seasons. My only complaints are laces fell apart in a few months, the stichout is over stamped and collects a lot of dirt, plus is uneven near the toe causing a crease on one shoe. Use tree shoes and polish on a regularly, they're tough to wear out.
I've got a pair in midnight blue Suede and they're essentially my dress shoes. They're awesome, and actually far more comfortable than my matte black Captains.
I like the look of the distressed suede and see it as a very viable solution for people who don't want to spend lot of time maintaining their shoes. Now, this leather is not great quality, so I wonder how long the uppers will last for someone who wears them a lot in rain, snow or sleet, and especially, what is likely to happen if they get salt on them. That said, for $150 it looks like a decent value. Not necessarily for me, but I might recommend it to others.
Hey Martin! The leather is still really great quality so the uppers are going to last. In general, you don't want to overexpose any leather to heavy rain, snow, or sleet in order to keep them looking their best. That being said, if you happen to run into moderate weather conditions you will not need to worry. When it comes to salt, we recommend wiping down your boots with a damp rag right away to prevent staining but again, this is advice for all-leather shoes and boots. Feel free to contact us directly if you ever have any questions!
I have a question on suede. Is all suede created equal? What about the suede used in Crockett and Jones or Carmina...or even Scafora or GG? Are we paying the same for inferior materials?
I have a pair of these in brown Thursday chrome given to me by my father. Thursday's sizing in this boot is more difficult for me but they are more comfortable than I expected. Also that sole they use is a slightly different composition each batch. One of the founders of Thursday has said as much in an interview.
I ordered a pair yesterday. It was mainly due to other thursday boots being more expensive. I do have a suede leather jacket that would match these. That's another reason. I guess I'll find out what they are like soon enough.
Suede isn't something I'd wear, but the material is in the product description, so I don't think the use of it is something to hold against TBC. People (should) know what they're buying and at least the material isn't going to waste. Aside from that, these look pretty nice given the price point.
Thursday do get more uncomfortable over time, the "Thursday Drop". I have multiple pairs of Thursday boots, they are good for the price. I have the Chukkas except in the Thursday Chrome. All things considered they are a good company, something to consider.

Almost bought this good-looking boot earlier this year, until I saw your Lems Boulder boot video. Now I can never wear a high-heeled thick-soled boot ever again. Once you go barefoot, it's hard to go back, and eliminates a LOT of options. i.e.: I doubt Thursday will ever make a minimalist boot.
Got a pair because of your videos! Superb boot could use better wet weather grip and fit is on narrow side (so get a half size bigger for wide feet). Otherwise love everything aboot em! 😀
Another great video. Im not in the market to really ever get a chukka boot but i still like watching your vids. Any thoughts on doing the Captain sometime? How are your Perry boots wearing in? I just got mine and wore them right away to work. It was 4 hours of order selection in a refrigerated warehouse and then 7 hours of on and off a Hilo. Feet were a little sore and my heel a bit red but no real blistering or comfort issues. They're my first boot over $100 and im super happy with how solid underfoot they are and how they wear. Here's hoping i dont tear them apart too bad in the warehouse. Keep up the great work and im looking forward to whatever the 0/500 counter is getting at.
Could you examine New Republic shoes? The prices for their sneakers and boots are a notch below Thursday Boot Co. I'm curious to see how the quality differs.
Thanks for the video, but usually you go into more detail about the construction. For example, I wanted to know if the stitching reaches the bottom of the outer sole, and if not, then are those stitches on the bottom purely decorative?
Are Danner Thorofare hunting boots worth $500.00? What about those VS Crispi? Are Irish Setter upland hunting boots different from the moc toe work boot?
I bought a pair of Kodiak Chase boots from Tactical Closeout for $26.00. They are actually leather lined. I can't complain for the price. Just wondering what your opinion of these would cut in half. Thank you for your videos.

I want to see a video review of military boots.
I’d love to see a first and second gen Nike SFB on here
Garmont T8!
They are cement construction
Worth noting that Thursday does offer a regular leather version for the same price.
I’ve really been thinking about getting this exact boot. I like how that mocha suede looks. Gonna wait and see the rest of this series to decide I think.
I literally just got a pair of these in the Cognac Suede color way earlier this week! Hoping to wear these this weekend or the next.
Enjoy!
Can you cut in half a Clark’s wallabee?
I got Thursday Captain boots as my first non-cheap boot to replace my timberlands and the overal quality is night and day - especially the sole, which is way more durable
my brown chukka have lasted over 2 years. wear them nearly everyday, running around a hotel, survived 2 VT winters & 2 VT mud seasons. My only complaints are laces fell apart in a few months, the stichout is over stamped and collects a lot of dirt, plus is uneven near the toe causing a crease on one shoe. Use tree shoes and polish on a regularly, they're tough to wear out.
tbf, a large part of the chukkka look IS the swade.
Thursday advertise their weather resistant suede a water test would've been helpful. Great review.
Please, do a segment/series on leather jackets.
I have a question on suede. Is all suede created equal? What about the suede used in Crockett and Jones or Carmina...or even Scafora or GG? Are we paying the same for inferior materials?
I always thought suede was super fancy and premium. Good marketing?
@@djswany85 I know from a shoemaker friend that good suede is expensive so I'm wondering
I have a pair of these in brown Thursday chrome given to me by my father. Thursday's sizing in this boot is more difficult for me but they are more comfortable than I expected. Also that sole they use is a slightly different composition each batch. One of the founders of Thursday has said as much in an interview.
Need to know this. Just got me a RW Blacksmith in Hawthorne
Is there enough room in your current size for an after market insole? Or would you go a size up if you were going that route??
@@dk302948 It would need to be a slim insole, I don't know if going up a size would help that
I just recently got the suede Navy. I enjoy them quite a lot. Casual dress is pretty nice with these boots.
I have been waiting for this for a long time !! Thank you!!!
The plot is such a good idea
It's called a Radar Chart. But it's also known as, or you could call it a web chart, spider chart, spider web chart, star chart,[2] star plot, cobweb chart, irregular polygon, polar chart, or Kiviat diagram. So you call it what you want Westin.
Can you do the MEERMIN boots?
Almost bought this good-looking boot earlier this year, until I saw your Lems Boulder boot video. Now I can never wear a high-heeled thick-soled boot ever again. Once you go barefoot, it's hard to go back, and eliminates a LOT of options. i.e.: I doubt Thursday will ever make a minimalist boot.
Thank GOD!! Finally you make a thursday video
I've got a pair of crockett and jones chukka boots, I love them and I'd love to see you tare their chukkas apart.
Great channel! Great concept! Very smart. I’m an avid fan- look forward to your future episodes.
The Chukka Dart Board?
Please do a Derby series I really wanna see a pair of Trickers cut apart!!!
I like my TB Duke Chelsea boots. Have two pairs one in Olive suede. One in Black chrome leather.
Great video, as always! And that would be a spider chart :). See how it looks like a spider web.
They also have shiny leather option for the same cost.
Got a pair because of your videos! Superb boot could use better wet weather grip and fit is on narrow side (so get a half size bigger for wide feet). Otherwise love everything aboot em! 😀
Love the visuals. Very helpful to pickup quickly...
Best blundstone alternative? I love mine but want something that is better quality.
Love my Thursday Captains!
Have you done any of the women’s boots? Knockouts to be specific.
Sooooo what is their Rugged and Resilient leather? Nubuck or rough out?
Great job on the review and the breakdown of the material 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Good job on the 10 initial center cut score!
Are Danner Thorofare hunting boots worth $500.00? What about those VS Crispi? Are Irish Setter upland hunting boots different from the moc toe work boot?
😆 🤣 I love you're center cut score there 😆 🤣 😂
So which one is better these or the grant stone ?
I have these boots. I like them more than my iron rangers in both comfort and style. I highly recommend picking up a pair.
Is there room for an extra after market insole? Or do you even need it??
I just bought the Adobe Wedge Sole. Website said to order 1/2 size down but be careful people they feel tight.
I bought a pair of Kodiak Chase boots from Tactical Closeout for $26.00. They are actually leather lined. I can't complain for the price. Just wondering what your opinion of these would cut in half. Thank you for your videos.
Thursday boots are amazing, I own several pair, but I'm not a fan of chukka boots.
Where did you get your knife, I think you have mentioned it before, I just can't for the life of me remember
Alignment is correct...these boots are Chaotic good
14:12 is the leather and gold cat harnesses?
Could you cut open a pair of the Thursday women's captain boots? I would like to see how they compare to the men's boots.
Can you do the Thursday Cavalier? I love mine and I'd like to see what's inside.
Scared to learn! Hope I’m not disappointed
