Thursday has a second model with their rugged leather line with a wedge stole that is Goodyear welted. This is done to make replacement of the wedge easier. There are a very limited choice in Scout the wider size. The Cognac Suede and Brown leather. Like the man said though just order up.
Another nice review. Thursdays are my favorite boots. I think Chukka's and Moc Toe boots are my favorites. Just something about the style and the look. Plus, you can wear them with anything.. I own several different kind. A pair of Rancourts from Maine. Very expensive, but hand sewn quality. Jim Green from Africa are inexpensive, but well made. And my most fancy pair of Oak Street Trench Chukka with Chromexcel leather that I found at a thrift store that where never worn.....Just ordered a pair of Helm Chukka's with 3 eyelet holes, a different look as well...Thinking about getting Thursdays Almond Suede version as well....Thanks again...
I have been wearing a pair of Safari Scouts for more than 3 years now. I like them a lot. I’ve been thinking about getting the mochas though because I like the look of the bottom better. I have never been a fan of white wedge soles TBH.
I bought my Thursday Scout boots in mocha suede actually from Thursday 2nd's collection, I think these are my favorite boots. I have a pair of Thursday captains and they're actually not that comfortable to wear, compared to these these are fantastic. Personally I think the chukka is a very underrated boot, ill gladylly wear these almost anywhere, very happy with these and will probably get a full grain black color Scout for dressy occasions
Thank you for this! Indeed, this guide helps to make informed decisions. I would also appreciate seeing how a boot is worn with different pants and jeans. What concerns me is how readily the very bottoms of the backs of my pants would lift up with the boots and shoes worn. Especially when I get out of the car: would I need to pull my pants down every time? I think that some zippered boots with narrow uppers would be best if you worry about boots lifting up your pants, no? Please share your opinions and tips on this, everyone.
Have two pairs of these, mocha suede and black leather and I absolutely love them. The black leather is very nice in fact and I’m considering a brown leather-though I’m thinking of a Cadet or Captain model, can’t decide. My only complaint is I wish they were Goodyear Welted. Having tried Clark’s these are so much better.
@@lancemontemayor2366 I got the Scouts in my regular dress shoe/boot size. The funny thing with Clark’s is, having tiny feet, I had to go into Women’s sizing. Still wanting to expand the Scout collection honestly, the mocha suede are probably the most comfortable shoes I own.
I have a pair of captains and cadets, love them both. The Scout is next on my list. I recently got a pair of the cadets in Mocha, and realized that it is made with a narrower last. It was a bit too tight on the sides for my liking, and the half size up was just too big in general it seemed.. I am a size 12.5-13 normally in sneakers, but I have always gotten a 12 in dress shoes/boots. In part because it is rare that there are half sizes. Regardless, I always feel like the 12 is what I am supposed to get in Thursday boots based on how they say it should fit, although I definitely wear 13 in their sneakers. My question for you is in regard to fit. Thursday recommends the boots should be "snug" on the width at first. The 12.5 boots, I can feel the sides on my feet, but just barely. I wouldn't say it is squeezing my foot at all, just barely touching. The size 12 definitely has a gentle but firm snugness on the sides of my feet. I don't know how much I should expect leather to actually stretch. Should I stick with the 12 for the long run? My main concern is that I have the proper and intended boot fit. I am wondering why my sneaker and boot size could be an entire size difference. Thank you for any advise!
You should do a review on the cadets. That was my first pair of Thursday’s. I got the captains after the cadets and it seems like the shorter boot with the cadets seem to be a better style for me but not many leather options in the cadet. But a great boot overall.
I'm looking at a cadet boot, would you say they're maybe a bit easier to wear because they're not as high rising? Id look at wearing them more casually and my captains for more formal things, dates etc.
@@sbentsen2714 honestly the cadets are more dressy than the captains. Depending on leather choice I guess but I’d wear my cadets for dressy stuff before my captains. They’re smaller and have a shorter heel. The leather seems thinner as well.
I really like them . ( I have a pair of Thursdays captions brown and love them ) I was thinking of getting a black leather pair to wear with a suit . ( Weddings or funerals ) I have a pair of Clark's I beat the hell out of . Lol
I dont know specifically about their chukka but they use the same leather for all their boots and it's incredible. I'd imagine their chukka is no different
I think they are nicknamed dessert boots. (Originally with the Clark’s for which these are inspired) so my assumption would be that they are even better in heat then the cold/wet.
Man, you really like to talk about Thursday boots. I just glanced at you latest 15 or so videos and almost half are about Thursday boots. However you are not alone, it seems like there are a tin of guys out there who cover them. Maybe I need to get a pair to dispel my reaction that the imported models seem like glorified Cole Haan boots and their American models seem like lower end Redwings. I bought a pair of Rhodes for cheap and I winder if they aren’t pretty comparable. It just seems like Thursday boots have this impression of being comparable to $300 boots but sell of $199 and that’s why so many people talk about them. To me, they seem like $149 boots selling for $199. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s what they look like to me.
Did the same size you wear in Captains work for you in the Scout? I tried my Captain/President size in a Rugged & Resilient Scout, and it is wildly too small for me - pinches my big toe and pinky toe together.
My husband cannot even walk in these - they are so very uncomfortable. It's not the leather or the few room for the toes, it's the heel which is simply too "long". Yes, too long (not too high), because the boot's heel sets backwards over the human heel (if this explanation makes sense). And that's different to ALL other shoes my husband owns. And that's make these boots simply not usable. We wrote an explanation to Thursday, but they were not willing to help at all (they didn't want to take the boots back and they didn't give us any advice, what a cobbler could do to fix the issue). I cannot understand how one single man can walk in these …
Hi Billy 🖐 Lol, thanks for the shout out, buddy.👍 Now I know to keep out of the river when I'm in the Thursday Scout. Bootspy has me covered with the good advice! Cheers to you. I'll be watching... ✌ (by the way, you make a pretty good case for the Scout). Have a good one!
Thanks for the kind words, we're so happy to hear you love your Scouts!
Please sell the black suede again. 🥺

Nice boots. I just wish they had three eyelets. Just my preference. I have the Red Wing chukka in copper rough and tough leather. Really dig them.

Did you get the Thursday Scouts in the same size as the Clark's Desert Boots? Planning to get one of these. Thanks!

@@TheGunDude mmm I receive this comment bro thank you! Looking to get a pair of the Cadets in black if thats the case, for dressier occasions
I prefer the red wing weekender or Astorflex Brownflex chukka boots.
Would you recommend the mocha, safari or cinnamon color?
Your content is good, I don't understand how you don't have more views.

Very nice review!😀
Very nice! I have Clark’s bushacre 2s right now but definitely eyeing the scouts
I also would like your opinion on Beckett Simonon Chukka's...? For the price, they seem like a great deal with Italian leather...

can you wear these in the summer? even if its hot outside

Is this boot light as Clark?
Could you please review the ted baker polished suede chukka

I would just spend a little more money on something like Grant Stone. You will get a much higher quality boot.
What watch are you wearing?
Hubba hubba! What's that leather jacket you got on!? 6:18

Huh that's interesting, I ordered a 12 in captains which fits well, and a 12 in the scout in rugged and resilient Safari, fits well also 👍🏼

Clarks desert boots are still number one in my opinion. Thursday is too slim.
Oh to be able to afford a pair of Alden chukkas
I hear you!
Clarks call their boot the desert boot. Ease up with the hand gestures, giving me anxiety, otherwise great work much appreciated,,,
The presenter was not very effective. Talked real fast and was not very convincing.
