    Thank you for taking the time to put this out here for the rest of us. I just bought one of these little motors and I am working my way through your videos, so I have better knowledge of my new motor. Thanks again.

    Nice video, it was very helpful. I think it might be improved if you show removing the cowling. I took the top off my
    motor after watching your video then I realized I had to remove more than the top.

    I would definitely watch more videos like this on these suzuki EFI motors. I recently had mine cut out on me. It was ofcourse at a bad time. It would run for a few seconds than shut off. Did this for a while. Took the thing home and took the cowlings off, took the high pressure pump apart and cleaned it. Took the injectors out and cleaned them, drained the fuel filter, changed the oil. Cleaned the intake. Cleaned the spark plugs , took off and reconnected the sensor's connectors.blah blah,
    than I decided to disconnect the emergency cut off switch. Low and behold the thing started in 3 pulls!!!

    Can you list the part numbers to all the parts you used? That would really help instead of trying to stop it in time to snap a quick picture. Thanks

      Just watched your video again. I've changed my oil once after the oil change light came on. I reset it and it's been perfect. Will the oil change light come on again at 100 hours? I must be getting close to that many hours. Thanks again.

    I am confused about the inside o-ring, the small one. You don't show it as a part purchased, yet you say replace... What part number is it? Where do you purchase it?

    Great job on the videos! I have a question for you, maybe you have an answer....2018 DF 20 ATHL2 ..85 hrs, new, exhaust was quiet, now at 85hrs its much louder, like 2 stroke loud!! Exhaust gasses still coming out hub, just not at idle, slight loss of power? Any thoughts?

    I drained the oil from the Suzuki DF15 after about 10 hours. I left it in the bottle and after a few days a white precipitate formed from the oil at the bottom, a lot of it. What could it be and what cause could it be? New engine, only 10 hours old
    I also see that at high speeds, white smoke comes out of this nozzle near the cooling water nozzle

    I changed the oil and I have found a copper washer in the bottom of the waste oil, and does not appear to be leaking, I am going to change it again in two or three days after a hundred miles, I am assuming since it's not leaking that it will be okay for 2 or 3 days, thoughts?

    I never saw my 20 service light flashing ! It works as it should when started but the flashing light I never saw. Perhaps getting bumped by accident when driving the boat.
    Will see what happens at 100 hours !!

      If you're subscribed to the out of stock emails, keep in mind they are delayed by hours even when the website shows stock.
      I got one at onlineoutboards. I subscribed to out of stock, but I was told one was coming into stock on a given day. I just kept refreshing the screen on that day until it showed up. The email that said it was in stock did not even come until hours later.

      i also was able to score a 2021 15 hp 15" shaft electric start from onlineoutboards. i just religiously checked daily for about 6 weeks and got lucky. got it about 2 months ago. took less than a week to get to my door. im getting close to my 20 hours is how i stumbled upon this video

      I bought a 2021, 9.9 horse Suzuki short shaft, electric start, about three weeks ago, at Starboard Choice Marine, Edwardsburg Michigan. They also had a new 15 horse available. My boat is rated for 25 horse, but the lakes around here are either no wake or restricted to 10 horse or under. Small outboards are very difficult to find right now. I drove over three hours to pick it up. Very pleased with the customer service. Ask for Andy. Hope that helps.

      I know this is a little late but if you can find a later model Johnson, they are actually a Suzuki motor. I didn't know it until I searched RUclips about changing the oil. I just picked mine up today it's exactly like this one in the video other than electric start.

    • @laingej

      Just hand tight would say like 6 -7 ft pounds.. enough. couldnt find it anywhere in the service manual just says tighten securely

    • @rickfaessler1386
      @rickfaessler1386 3 года назад

      @@laingej the service manual says a bolt marked "7" that's 10mm, torque is 29-43 ft lbs. Unless otherwise stated, Which it is not. Seems tight.

    • @laingej
      @laingej  3 года назад +1

      @@rickfaessler1386 that seems too high for that little filter plate. Maybe for the gear case bolts or head /block. You just want the plate oring to seal ..i went with same torque as the valve cover to be safe.. done so 3 times and no leaks
