    Great video ,I am in Canada, Nova Scotia and I have a 2004 Johnson15 hp that is actually a Suzuki. It is exactly the same as the one in the video except it has a carburator. This is an amazing motor and it is almost 20 years old.. only problem i have with it is that it can be very hard to start in the cold on the first start of the day but after that it goes on half a pull.. I am looking a getting a 15 Suzuki but electric start this time.. Thanks

    Did you turn the shaft counterclockwise when looking down the shaft when sliding the bowl over the impeller? Or doesn't it matter?

    Thanks for the video, am thinking of buying the electric start version 15HP. However I have heard that the new higher Ethanol fuel E10 can play havoc with the fuel injectors of water gets into them, is there a water separator on the engines, are they needed or what type of fuel stabiliser or corrosion inhibitor do you use or recommend?

    • @sibfishingadventuresuk1558
      @sibfishingadventuresuk1558  11 месяцев назад

      I don't and won't use e10 , for a couple of pennies more your performance and longevity will be better for using E5 do some research to which is the best E5 in your area Esso or Tesco momentum seems to be the highest oct99 round my way , it's probably less than a £ per tank to use a quality e5..there is a water separator built into these, Ethanol attracts water anyway temperature change creates condensation so storage is key also

    I changed my oil and I found a copper washer in the bottom of the waste oil, it is not leaking now as far as I can see and I am changing the oil again after 2 or 3 days about 100 miles it does not seem to be leaking and I am going to try to make it two or three days and then change the oil again and I can put that copper washer back on then, thoughts?

      Tbh I've several motors that I've serviced and very few have the copper washers on.. just a precaution

    Dont bother to change airfilter on full service?

    • @fly2crawl
      @fly2crawl 3 месяца назад

      Most boats do not have an air filter because there is very little dust if at all on the water. All these motors have is a flame arrestor.

    I drained the oil from the Suzuki DF15 after about 10 hours. I left it in the bottle and after a few days a white precipitate formed from the oil at the bottom, a lot of it. What could it be and what cause could it be? New engine, only 10 hours old
    I also see that at high speeds, white smoke comes out of this nozzle near the cooling water nozzle

    • @sibfishingadventuresuk1558
      @sibfishingadventuresuk1558  8 дней назад

      I've seen those white particles you're on about and I asked the local marine guy she said what I was thinking maybe fuel or condensation .. fuel would be my guess even if stored, transported on its side ,tilted on the transom oil and fuel can still mix a little . The nozzle is the first exhaust and cooling outlet sounds like u burnt fuel ? What fuel you using

      @@sibfishingadventuresuk1558 It is precipitated from the oil, white like an emulsion, when I shake it, it mixes with the oil.
      I don't see any filings in it, just white goo.
      But when I was pumping it, it was strange that the oil was so cloudy.
      I used E10 PB95 fuel for the first time.
      We only have E5 PB 98, but they told me to use regular ones.
      Although I would prefer E5 PB98
      The engine only worked for 6 hours and something precipitated while removing the oil.
      And I transport it lying down for 1 hour and hang it on the transom.

    • @sibfishingadventuresuk1558

      E10 will be the problem.. it attracts moisture, e5 97 is better than any E10

    • @przemysaw124
      @przemysaw124 8 дней назад

      @@sibfishingadventuresuk1558 Suzuki wrote to me to pour E10 PB95, it's a new fuel, but we still have E5 PB98, but Suzuki claims that the engine may overheat with it because I would also prefer to pour PB98E5.
      So, for this new PB98 E5 engine?
      I transport it lying down with the sticker up, so as the seller recommends, it can't be the reason that the fuel is getting somewhere?

    • @przemysaw124
      @przemysaw124 8 дней назад

      They are threatening me that the head gasket may be damaged.
      It's a new engine, so I would probably have to be unlucky to buy one because it was visible after the first swim after 6 hours.
      And why do I see slight smoke coming from the pipe at the back of the engine at higher revs?
