  • Adam Gontier is a rock singer and songwriter whose career spans multiple number 1 hits, Billboard music awards, and major placement by franchises such as WWE. As original frontman for Three Days Grace, it’s safe to say that Adam Gontier’s voice defined an era. Leading songs like “Never Too Late” and “Animal I Have Become” to record-smashing success, Adam wrote some of the most recognizable hard rock songs of the 2000s. In the process, he also brought mental health into the rock arena.
His impact didn’t stop with Three Days Grace. With his current band Saint Asonia, Adam Gontier continues to pen essential hard rock songs - most recently with Introvert and Extrovert, dual EPs that are combined into one full-length release. On this episode of Trevor Talks, Adam shares about how those two sets of songs tell a story that begins in quarantine and resolves on the other side. He also shares about why it matters to keep fighting stigma around mental health, and how music has been his lifelong outlet through his own journey through addiction into sobriety.
The conversation is a full circle moment for podcast host Trevor, who had his own interest in rock shaped by Three Days Grace’s music - as did thousands of other aspiring musicians and creatives. This is a truly unforgettable glimpse into the story and the mind of a rock legend.

Smackdown Vs Raw 2007 absolutely changed my life. Three Days Grace, Rise Against, and Nonpoint. Hero and Monster by Skillet were in SvR 2010 I think. WWE used to pick some great music

I had many encounters with suicidal thoughts in middle and high school, but Never Too Late and Life Starts Now saved my life countless times. If you can pass this along to Adam Gontier, thank you for saving my life.

Introvert Extrovert is my favorite album from Saint Asonia, because it sounds so much like Adam's TDG. i guess that would be the case with Saint Asonia in general, all their albums are great, but Introvert Extrovert feels nostalgic and refreshing at the same time, i feel at home listening to the songs from that album specifically.
    Adam is such a legend.

Great interview. Back in 2007 I heard my daughter listening to Three Days Grace. Growing up in the 80s listening to Def Leppard and Cinderella I was completely blown away. I was like " who is that" That sounds like real music. I actually felt cheated Growing up lol. Adam along with Jason Miraz were her 2 favorite singers. She took her life in 2016. She is in the music video for Saint Asonia"s Ghost. She would have been so happy to see herself in the video Can't wait to see Saint Asonia in Indiana with the rest of the siblings.

I have experienced depression and anxiety that began to really materialize when I was in high school and I really hated myself and I just wanted to not be myself anymore. I remember I had been bullied and I was dealing with some of my own problems. My problems seemed very small and insignificant so it was even more frustrating that I couldn’t get over it. I got into rock music in high school where I started listening to bands like Metallica, Staind, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, and of course, Three Days Grace. When I was in college, I really got into Breaking Benjamin, All That Remains, A Day to Remember, Pop Evil, Fozzy, and Five Finger Death Punch. I recently came across Saint Asonia and I absolutely loved the music. Thank you, Adam for sharing your story and such great music in both Three Days Grace and Saint Asonia and thank you for sharing your story. The song, Never Too Late is probably one of my favorite songs by Three Days Grace because it really spoke to me when overcoming my depression.
