I'm pretty sure that was a muskrat swimming across the river. If you look closely, there is a bit of a wiggle in it's wake, which is from using their tail like a corkscrew to help propel them through the water. You can also see quite a bit of it's body, where a beaver will generally just show it's head (which is almost the size of the whole muskrat!). We have both beavers and muskrats on our pond, and have gotten pretty good a identifying them.
@ I have been looking at KKs specifically as a retirement option, and found your channel to get a sense of what life onboard might be like. Thanks for sharing your journeys.
I’m working editing a video of the different KK we have seen along the way. Currently traveling with a whaleback and a 55 Explorer. Thanks for watching
@@UnderwayDriftingNDreaming I just subscribed, and will be watching for that video. I currently dream about the 39s & 42s from a "how much space do the two of us really need" standpoint.
Wow that’s an amazing boat I thought your air draft would not allow you to pass under some of the bridges on the Illinois river. Good luck to you safe boating. Semper Paratus!
Our air draft if 31’ with the mast up and 18’ with the mast down. The highest point is the hand rail. I watch the low clearance bridge from the ladder heading up to the roof. Thanks for watching.
Born and raised in Michigan. Then thirty plus years in the South. It’s a speech and hearing issue from birth. Not an axe-cent. I did get I luh noy correct after the second video Thanks for watching I’ll be making more articulation mistakes. Call me out since I truly don’t know it.
Thanks. I grew up in Michigan and always pronounced the “s”. Another subscriber pointed it out on Monday’s video. Thanks for letting me know. I taught 8th grade and incorrectly pronounced a student name wrong the first semester. Another student switched periods and the first day called me out. Thanks for watching
I am from Michigan and spent my first 23 years there til I moved west and never went back I always heard it pronounced WITHOUT the s French pronunciation, I guess.
Thanks. I have difficulty with articulation of sounds and hearing the difference sounds in speech. I tend to add “s” to everything. Wealth has nothing to do with it. Thank you for watching
Got it i·luh·noy
IlliNOY 👍🏼
Working on changing how to say Illinois without the “s”. Friday’s video I’ll have it down
@@UnderwayDriftingNDreaming loving your channel, just trying to help 👍🏼😁

Awesome. I was wondering what it was. Great description how to identify. Thanks for watching.

What app are you using on your phone? That shows the bottom contour really well.
Aqua Maps USACE Survey. It is constantly uploaded with new surveys. The app is great for the low water pool of the river and the ICW.

There is no "S" sound in the word "Illinois."

There is no one or y in Missouri either but people mis pronounce it every day.
Not to be snarky but just so you know those of who live in Illinois do not pronounce the "s" in Illinois.
Got it. Thanks for watching
Gemini? Were both of you astronauts in the 60's? LoL, I find humor in the weirdest things.
Hilarious. I had to go back and listen. First few seconds.

Yes, with your wealth, you would think you would know how to pronounce Illinois!
Thanks. I have difficulty with articulation of sounds and hearing the difference sounds in speech. I tend to add “s” to everything. Wealth has nothing to do with it.
