I am really sorry that there are 2 mistakes in this video. 1 - Lux W is not the only Skillshot Shield in the game, Senna R is a global skillshot shield and new volibear as well as Ekko kinda drop an AOE so it's basically a skillshot too! 2 - Old Quinn did have an AOE blind and yes I literally just made a Quinn video so there's no excuses for that at all I am just an idiot and didn't realize I said that in the script for some reason. Super sorry and I will make sure that doesn't happen again..

do you think giving Lux more damage on her Passive and less damage on her Q and R would be a good idea? making it so she has to be at a little more of a risk to deal all of her damage. it feels like Luxs in my games just ignore the Passive entirely and still deal insane damage at all stages of the game.
sadly i don't see them going back that route ever again players only played the mode usually to do the quests and then stopped once they were done it was a weird thing that they only really ever saw happen during urf; albeit a bit worse on that end
I would honestly love to see DoomBots coming back. There are lots of newer champs that would be pretty cool to try that gamemode with. (The best one is Sylas. Stealing the broken ults of the DoomBots sounds fun!) But even just some type of dungeon crawler, or hack and slash style gamemode would be nice. Especially if we could play all of the champs on that mode (unlike with the Odyssey or the Star Guardian map, where you just had a limited pool of champs).

I do wish that they would add a couple of voice lines to show the darker side of her personality like in the lore. The brighter her smile, the darker her hidden despair/depression is.
Actually the flash thing on the ult already existed, I don't know if it was a bug though. But if you for some reason missed the target while ulting you could just flash in the right direction you actually wanted to ult. For example, the target is in front of you, and you ulted backwards, just flash towards the target and the actual hit box would turn into the direction you flashed, while the animation still going to the other side.
I remember back in S2 I had picked her up to avoid playing the meta support trio: Soraka, Janna, Sona. Steel Legion Lux was probably the best skin she had before Star Guardian came out, and even then it's alright; I remember when Teemo was getting skins more often than Lux, and now she has more than him! Overall, I really like Lux as a character and champion. I only wish Riot could decide how they wish to identify her lane identity, as playing her as a mage regardless of being in the bot or mid lane seems a bit more viable than enchantress personally.

My favorite tidbit about the original lore of Baron Nashor and the OG summoner rift was that "Baron Nashor" was not an understood entity, it existed and it was named, but no one knew exactly what it looked like. The only surviving description of it was a purple monster with several eyes. The thing is, as the Rift was chosen to host the battles of the League on the OG lore, the summoners had to deal with this creature, and it turned out it was very very easy to deal with said monster, all they did was simply recruit him. Make up a monster that would fit the description, and to this very day, Jax is still a pickable champion and the world is none the wiser.

No that's not the reason, they couldn't do it back then because they didn't have the tech, so when the Morde rework came by, they gave him that ult, Riot pepega giving a Fighter's ult to a Juggernaut

The “For Demacia” story seems to draw heavy parallels between Lux with Morgana, and Garen with Kayle. Garen also adopts the more rigid, “an eye for an eye” morality, whereas Lux draws on her compassion, believing that even people who cause suffering need help and understanding. I think this makes sense that Lux and Morgana have similar kits. Garen and Kayle have very different gameplay, but their kits have similar themes of celestial swords, healing, and smiting.

Malice Cannon is also a Touhou reference, though a little more obscure. To keep the explanation brief, Touhou 8 has a bug where if you rapidly switch between two characters named Marisa and Alice, both of their shot types will overlap and be on screen at the same time, giving you extra damage. Fans call this the Malice Cannon.
Yea, I was going to commend about this too. Alice Margatroid from the series is also a huge inspiration for Lux's look, and Lux's Light Binding is a small nod to Alice's strings and puppetry!

Senna is always at the center of the area, and control wards reveal both her and the camouflaged allies, and if they leave her small radius you can see where they are, albeit not knowing who it is. At least you can see where they are, this iteration of Lux's W would be like giving everyone on your team Twitch's Q. At least with Senna you know where they are.

All I could say is that lux made me happy when she said “If you can smile, you can be the light!” and everytime I loose I stay calm. So, at least I had a great journey from the toxicity. edit: I don usually bother from enemy lux or how other dialogues can be quite mean. I guess I just have a good mindset minding my own business :D

One interesting thing to note, “Malice cannon” is a term used by Touhou players to refer to quickly switching between Marisa’s and Alice’s projectiles in Touhou 8, hence the name Malice cannon.
I remember one of the primary reasons I started playing League years and years ago was because of the Touhou reference. I started around the time Wriggle's Lantern was still a thing and she's still my main after almost a decade. It's been amazing to see her development over time. I remember being so hype for the Star Guardian skin and game mode that later came out. Elementalist is probably the most fun to play as but Star Guardian is a very close second, especially with its fantastic lore universe.
Riot loves Lux so much they made an entirely new feature just for her Cosmic and Dark Cosmic Lux, that leaves a particle affect for the duration of your death.
As a lux main myself, that's probably the worst part of those skins, it's annoying to the guy you kill with the ult because his screen becomes blurry. and as the one playing with lux, that particle isn't noticeable when playing with the skin, so I don't get the point of having such effect.
One of the reasons they gave her 3 military skins is due to her original back story, where she was heavily in the Demacian Military, earning awards for being able to infiltrate Noxus's command posts and gather info, another nod to her original W (which I believe was also her ult at one point?) where she could bend the light to make her self invisible ^^. I thought I'd mention that the Touhou character Marisa Kirisame was a huge kleptomaniac, and her favourite thing to steal was spells/spellbooks (hence Spellthief Lux). My thought over her having a very similar Q to Morgana would be that she stole the spell and put her own twist on it, much like Marisa does a few times in the Touhou series.

The most shocking to me is the creator/original designer of Lux was a Japanese. This is why the Anime/Weeb culture was connected for her for ex. Star guradian, Academia skins etc.

Just to let you guys know how "deep" Touhou is actually ingrained in LoL: At 5:56 when Lux's pre-release abilities are on screen, her R is called Malice Cannon. In Touhou 8, you have the choice to play as two specific pairings of playable characters at once (if you choose to). Marisa Kirisame, the character that Lux is/was based off of, paired up Alice Margatroid, a fellow witch. They had a unique "feature" where Alice's laser beam would linger on-screen a bit after switching to Marisa. Thus, you could spam the Switch-character button to deal damage with both character's attacks at the same time, something you couldn't really do with most pairings nearly as effectively. It was far-and-away one of the fastest ways to deal consistent damage in the game, eating through boss healthbars far faster than intended. Touhou players dubbed this "feature" the Malice Cannon, combining "Alice" with Marisa's "M" just like their shots. Plus it just sounds cool. And Lux almost inherited this as her R. Interestingly, Lux's current R, Final Spark, is verbatim one of Marisa's current canonical strongest attacks. What goes around comes around. There are of course other references, such as the video-mentioned Spell Thief Lux skin and Youmuu's Ghostblade.
Star guardian also has a bunch of random magical girl references, like ofc staffs, outfit, animal companions are really standard, the backing animation is staight out of Sailor Moon, her dance is an actual dance from Precure, and if you really want to stretch it, her ultimate could be seen as a reference to Starlight Breaker from Nanoha.

I’ve played her a decent amount, and that was how I climbed plat faster than any champion in season 9. And for that reason I hate her. Isn’t it pretty ironic? Me talking about a champ I hate yet I play her? It’s because she’s dumb and creates an illusion that you’re a good player cause you can consistently do well with her. Now don’t get me wrong, any champion is viable enough to scale and do ridiculous dmg. But the way her ult is set up, the q stunning potentially 2 while her shield possibly given to everyone on the team along with the e with ridiculous range. That stacks up for some stupid dmg, stupid poke and stupid plays. I’ve scoffed every time I land ult and killed some one. It’s ridiculous. Doesn’t matter if the lux player is shit or great, having any other forms of cc on the team the lux is on is just a good bye for u. But yes I do agree with your point and id like to add something to it as well. Lux scales with the stupidity of her opponents and she scales unforgivingly with the players skill cap.

As someone who was playing when Lux was released I got the impression she was always liked despite the weird release issues (I was so excited for the stealth w). Two reasons not listed here for her early popularity - she is Garen's sister, Garen was very popular at the time and it rubbed off on Lux, and she was the first humanoid female champion that was not obsurdly busty (Kayle was still fully armored so she wasn't thought of that way), and this change resonated with the community.
I love Lux especially as a pothead. When you pick her she exclaims, “Let’s light it up!” And of course I respond with, “That’s a great idea, Lux.” Then I light up my joint.
Ayyy the Marisa connection being brought up :) that made my day. I'm sure everyone knows that Youmuu's Ghostblade and Wriggle's Lanturn are also touhou references, right?

The “For Demacia” story seems to draw heavy parallels between Lux with Morgana, and Garen with Kayle. Garen also adopts the more rigid, “an eye for an eye” morality, whereas Lux draws on her compassion, believing that even people who cause suffering need help and understanding.
I think this makes sense that Lux and Morgana have similar kits. Garen and Kayle have very different gameplay, but their kits have similar themes of celestial swords, healing, and smiting.

Malice Cannon is also a Touhou reference, though a little more obscure. To keep the explanation brief, Touhou 8 has a bug where if you rapidly switch between two characters named Marisa and Alice, both of their shot types will overlap and be on screen at the same time, giving you extra damage. Fans call this the Malice Cannon.
Yea, I was going to commend about this too. Alice Margatroid from the series is also a huge inspiration for Lux's look, and Lux's Light Binding is a small nod to Alice's strings and puppetry!

I remember one of the primary reasons I started playing League years and years ago was because of the Touhou reference. I started around the time Wriggle's Lantern was still a thing and she's still my main after almost a decade. It's been amazing to see her development over time. I remember being so hype for the Star Guardian skin and game mode that later came out. Elementalist is probably the most fun to play as but Star Guardian is a very close second, especially with its fantastic lore universe.
Now all that's left is Youmuu's Ghostblade. Sad.

Riot loves Lux so much they made an entirely new feature just for her Cosmic and Dark Cosmic Lux, that leaves a particle affect for the duration of your death.
As a lux main myself, that's probably the worst part of those skins, it's annoying to the guy you kill with the ult because his screen becomes blurry. and as the one playing with lux, that particle isn't noticeable when playing with the skin, so I don't get the point of having such effect.

One of the reasons they gave her 3 military skins is due to her original back story, where she was heavily in the Demacian Military, earning awards for being able to infiltrate Noxus's command posts and gather info, another nod to her original W (which I believe was also her ult at one point?) where she could bend the light to make her self invisible ^^. Over all fantastic video

I thought I'd mention that the Touhou character Marisa Kirisame was a huge kleptomaniac, and her favourite thing to steal was spells/spellbooks (hence Spellthief Lux). My thought over her having a very similar Q to Morgana would be that she stole the spell and put her own twist on it, much like Marisa does a few times in the Touhou series.

Her build path made her a semi-tanky q spam bot making her feel like a worse Ryze. Not to mention that old splash art making her look like a dollar store Mystique. While her ult is a bit too strong imo new Eve is a proper assassin.

Just to let you guys know how "deep" Touhou is actually ingrained in LoL:
At 5:56 when Lux's pre-release abilities are on screen, her R is called Malice Cannon.
In Touhou 8, you have the choice to play as two specific pairings of playable characters at once (if you choose to). Marisa Kirisame, the character that Lux is/was based off of, paired up Alice Margatroid, a fellow witch. They had a unique "feature" where Alice's laser beam would linger on-screen a bit after switching to Marisa. Thus, you could spam the Switch-character button to deal damage with both character's attacks at the same time, something you couldn't really do with most pairings nearly as effectively. It was far-and-away one of the fastest ways to deal consistent damage in the game, eating through boss healthbars far faster than intended.
Touhou players dubbed this "feature" the Malice Cannon, combining "Alice" with Marisa's "M" just like their shots. Plus it just sounds cool. And Lux almost inherited this as her R.
Interestingly, Lux's current R, Final Spark, is verbatim one of Marisa's current canonical strongest attacks. What goes around comes around.
There are of course other references, such as the video-mentioned Spell Thief Lux skin and Youmuu's Ghostblade.

Star guardian also has a bunch of random magical girl references, like ofc staffs, outfit, animal companions are really standard, the backing animation is staight out of Sailor Moon, her dance is an actual dance from Precure, and if you really want to stretch it, her ultimate could be seen as a reference to Starlight Breaker from Nanoha.

Lux is just an "honest". She's all skillshots so you feel awesome succeeding as her, and you never feel cheated when fighting her. Even her personality actively keeps me from tilting

I’ve played her a decent amount, and that was how I climbed plat faster than any champion in season 9. And for that reason I hate her. Isn’t it pretty ironic? Me talking about a champ I hate yet I play her? It’s because she’s dumb and creates an illusion that you’re a good player cause you can consistently do well with her. Now don’t get me wrong, any champion is viable enough to scale and do ridiculous dmg. But the way her ult is set up, the q stunning potentially 2 while her shield possibly given to everyone on the team along with the e with ridiculous range. That stacks up for some stupid dmg, stupid poke and stupid plays. I’ve scoffed every time I land ult and killed some one. It’s ridiculous. Doesn’t matter if the lux player is shit or great, having any other forms of cc on the team the lux is on is just a good bye for u. But yes I do agree with your point and id like to add something to it as well. Lux scales with the stupidity of her opponents and she scales unforgivingly with the players skill cap.

As someone who was playing when Lux was released I got the impression she was always liked despite the weird release issues (I was so excited for the stealth w). Two reasons not listed here for her early popularity - she is Garen's sister, Garen was very popular at the time and it rubbed off on Lux, and she was the first humanoid female champion that was not obsurdly busty (Kayle was still fully armored so she wasn't thought of that way), and this change resonated with the community.
