I like when people can be respectfully passionate about things they like. Either games, videogame characters from said games, whatever. Whenever someone opens their little treasure box of hopes and dreams (don't say it) it just feels right, and somewhat inspiring. You can love, hate, like and despite; but always with an open mind. I HECKING LOVE Zyra and Zilean, and you know what? that's ok. I love Bootleg Poison Ivy and Rewind Grandpa.
When I used to play League, a majority of my time was spent as mage mid laners and enchanters- stuff like Syndra, Ziggs, Ahri, Sona, Soraka, etc. I thought that was what I enjoyed the most because I was a very cautious and patient player that didn't really go in unless someone else did first. Then I played Kled and realized all I needed was for my character to be the one to go in first and I've been obsessed with him ever since. Everything about him is perfect.
Kled is such a good champ for me, it emodies my playstyle perfectly. I'm a rather casual player, so I really like just screaming NO PRISONEERS as I charge the enemy adc
For me, it's Rell. A ragey teenage metal bender who turns the place she was imprisoned into a badass horse that is also her armor is just one of the coolest things i've encountered in fiction.
Pyke was the one character that I vividly remember watching the trailer during lunch and saying to my friend at the time "I'm going to main him", and I did I used to always get stuck on the support role since I sucked at every other role, but pyke was so fun that I actually learned how to play support well, and then that role became my favorite thanks to fish zombie man, even after all the nerfs and things removed from his kit like completely removing his ability to clear waves, I do still like playing him in mid by basically playing as a second jingler. Pyke just feels like My champion in a way, a comfort pick that I just love.

I remember playing League of Legends for the first time, in a Internet Café where the only people who were there were older dudes, and as a 12 year old girl, I felt really intimidated. I played horribly, was really nervous, and didn't understand anything about the game. I remember trying to understand Anivia over and over again, sucking at the controls, but I thought she looked so different and pretty on her Splash Art that I HAD to learn how to play her. I gave up on playing League after I got flamed pretty hard on another bad game. Fast Foward a few years, I'm 19 and decided to try league again. I first started only on Toplane, but after looking for champions, I remembered Anivia... I played her again, and I couldn't stop. I finally understood how she worked and she was so much fun! Keep them away, the storm will wear them down, keep your calm, you're in control. I like the few bits of info we got about her... She is wise and caring, but also not above mischeavously pranking her siblings and hiding the truth when the prank causes colateral damage. As an older sister, I really relate to her 😅 I really hope Anivia gets more love from Riot. Imagine how angry I got when, after adding Ornn and having the possibility of finally completing the Godly siblings trio.... The bird champion they chose to add next was Swain.
As a Pyke onetrick, the first time i played him, something just clicked the kind of elusive support was just what i needed, the design is just peak without a single flaw and he will always be my soft spot as the champ that got me into league.. But this day it changed as when Aurora came out, i remember when i friend of mine told me at her teaser release "Oi dude why the are you in the game now ?!" And i was so surprised to when i saw her it was straight up just looking into a mirror, personality, appearance, and way of doing was just so much alike that i even started cosplaying her, Plus she was also a elusive and nimble champ, just how i like them ! So i started to main aurora more and more over my beloved pyke °^°
kinda funny how you went from the "dark and revenge seeking more or less all in character" to an elusive, very introverted nice behavioral character, while sharing some things with each other, being 180 in many other directions. yet i wanna say "thats not possible, doesnt fit" while i have the same thing. im an absolute ADC main with a sweetspot for late game carries. Kog, jhin, jinx, smolder. especially jhins voicelines, ingame behaviour, etc.. im always a big "resonating personality" fan when it comes to champions. and at the same time i love someone like kled SO MUCH. I hate running someone down in early game but with kled, just because of his personality and his whole kit is "go in coward 24/7!" it's just ... fun? even though he sucks balls late game. I could kinda get going with this because its rare to have youtuber and communities share more then their best meta builds, compares to liking the champion or game because of personality art direction etc but.. it's nice to see.
I was one of the 12 people who used to main the old Aurelion Sol, he was one of the first champions I saw from the game and I absolutely loved everything about him: his thematic, design, personality, voice, lore, music and gameplay. Playing him felt just right to me and was very satisfying to play well on a champ no one else used or knew what he was capable. Making the enemy tilted because I did an insec and killed them under my tower; doing constant damage while kiting and never getting hit; travelling across the map to counter gank or push while knowing no one could stop you... Ah, good times. But his rework made me immediately lose interest in League, and for me that was the turning point to stop playing the game.
I didn't play him often, but I enjoyed playing him. The new one is braindead compared to the old one, haha. The old one was majestic, constantly having stars orbit him and throwing entire galaxies at people. And if that didn't work to kill them, he himself would intervene and burn the enemy with his breath. The new one just doesn't fit the image of an incredibly old, wise galactic dragon that has a superiority complex. You just constantly spit at the enemy and if that doesn't work, THEN you throw smth at them. I do like the black hole ability though. That on is a good ability. I do really like that one.
I mentioned in the last casual champ review for Master Yi, but like Cho’gath for Nicky, Master Yi got me into league as well. His gameplay is simple and designed is really goofy looking now but I like it Also really nice story with Ivern helping Nicky create a genuine friend group through League. Which funny enough my group does a similar thing where we invite anyone who we is cool/nice enough to join. Some were one-offs but now we have a big group of friends to play together and it’s great
The character that brought me to league was velkoz cuz i loved his design and got more interested in his lore and DUDE am so happy he's very relevant to runeterra (i also love big eyed squids and him being a researcher makes it better to me)
For me is Bard. I didn’t even play when he released but a good chunk of my friends did and they spent years convincing me to play. They showed me Bard’s champion showcase and something just clicked. Somehow I just knew I’d love play as him and I was 1000% right.
I remember watching yakko's singed montage and just thinking: "This is so idiotic and fast and has sonic music on the background, time to make it my favorite champion". A similar thought process repeated when I tried Lilia and when I saw you play Ivern Mid. Thanks for everything man, you're truly an inspiration to the community, godspeed.
For me, its Thresh and rammus. When both me and my friend started we did gp rammus botlane building whatever we thought looked cool. Then as i started exploring more into the champs, threshes theme being a nod to freddy Krueger and the fact that dispite the black mist distorting and twisting everything, he came out as if nothing had changed him and instead just empowered him. Just pure evil from the start that he couldn't be twisted further.
For me Cho'gath was also the same reason I got into League. When I first saw league I wasn't convinced at first but then I just saw this giant monster and was like "Woah! Who's that?" It was Cho'gath obviously and when I started playing league I would just play him all day and eventually I had to play someone else because god knows it gets boring playing the same character in the beginning and wanted to try the other champs. Cho'gath holds a special place in my heart too even if he isn't one of my main champs I play anymore.
I've been playing League since around when Gwen came out, and I think the two champions that got me to stay were Fiddlesticks and Urgot. I've always wanted to be a voice actor, and my friend wanted to show me some "cool voice acting". He linked me to Fiddlesticks, and I was captured *immediately.* I had some passing knowledge of League before, so I knew Fiddlesticks was just a goofy scarecrow man, but the fact that they managed to turn him into that? I was astounded. So I gave League a shot. But what really made me stay was when I was playing a game and spotted an Urgot rando on our team who was doing extremely well. He was basically a walking tank and seeing him singlehandedly storm his way through the team with a machine gun and putting people in the meat grinder was awe-inspiring. Nowadays? Urgot is my highest mastery character and Fiddlesticks is pretty close behind. The world of Runeterra is awesome.
Love the energy of this video, all the good vibes. My favorite has to be Viktor, through struggling to learn the game, hearing about and watching the pros play him in worlds pushing me to get better, and making some great friends through playing the game, plus him being a main character in Arcane, plus the connection I feel with his character in arcane due to also dealing with disability, no champion compares. I just hope they do a good job with him in season 2
For me the 1st character to get me into league was really Azir, the Egyptian god nepo baby just stole my heart. Sad that he’s one of the hardest characters to play so people were happy when little me tried to do so. Coming back yeaaaars later to modern day I’m still scared to really play him, but that’s when my love for Swain and X’erath really shown through. Something about their designs (despite the matter Xerath actively looks like he’s a million years old model wise) and just the way they played put the biggest smile on my face.
Prowlers Claw Rek'Sai was honestly so fun to me, it was so simple and easy to play as someone wanting to get into jungle, still like Rek'Sai but it isn't the same anymore. Also love full AP enchanters top, most enemy top laners just cry about it in all chat and I feed off that XDD First champions I played though were Kindred, Rek'Sai and Xayah though. Kindred cause I saw Jonsandman playing TFT Set 1 and I saw Kindred's icon and it looked very mysterious and cool, Rek'Sai cause I thought TFT set 2 Rek'Sai looked super cool and Xayah because I got star guardian out of my first ever crate. Since then I have immensely enjoyed playing OLD Skarner (bruiser), Ornn, Rakan, Anivia, Senna and Warwick to name a few. I am truly glad to have found this game through a one off TFT video, I have genuinely enjoyed the 3.5k hours in it and hope for more fun in the future.
I feel that, stopped playing shen when they removed the hydras active because that basically made the champ for me, without titanic he's just another tank but with it I could do so much cool things that felt different and good, i'm so glad they brought it back
My two favourite characters from league are rammus and and malphite, I know they’re designs aren’t great, I know they don’t have outstanding storys but I love them. I don’t know I just find them really appealing, just two big, nice and a little dumb monsters chilling in the desert. I guess I just like ground types.

I will never get enough of strolling away, slowing and rooting people as Daisy beats them up or using CC and vision to walk out of someone else's jungle leaving them totally confused about where I went. When I used to play league, I still remember some of my favorite champions Vel'koz: he was the guy that made me interested in playing league in the first place Renekton: I loved his backstory of a fallen brother to Nasus, and I had so much fun landing combos with him Fiddlesticks: I love how genuinely terrifying Fiddlesticks is in terms of lore and design, and I was able to steal the baron with him Modekaiser: Just walking around like a badass raid boss was so satisfying Twitch: he is full of pure gremlin energy, and he's one of the few adcs that I enjoyed playing as. Jinx and Vi: not only are they both fun to play as, but their role in arcane made me love the two even more. Bard: Just the design alone makes me love this cosmic support, and flying around was a lot of fun Braun: supreme chad And finally, Rammus... He's ok
I too was once a person that would get upset when people didn’t like the new Skarner, for example. Until this stream and now this Video opened my monke brain properly. There will always be people who think the old design was better, and that’s okay. It doesn’t affect me much anymore, because no matter what, Skarner, Voli, Ornn, Asol and Swain will always have a special place in my heart. And while I love these characters deeply, they aren’t real and anyone can have whatever opinion on them as they see fit. Thank you NickyBoi for this video and your message ^v^
my gripe with skarner is that it feels like a totally different champ kinda like old galio/sion/urgot compared to their new version. I do like his current kit and love the design but it's so different that I don't find the same type of fun I had with old skarner playing the rework, skarner was a very niche champ and now there's just no champ like him to fill the gap that rework made.
Illaoi is so unique and having so much love by the creator they even create a whole religion because of her. I think she's one of if not the highest impact character launched on runeterra universe
Your Ivern history is similar to mine with Kindred :D My friends invited me to play league and one of them told me to look for a champion to main, I saw Kindred, amazing design, read bio, absolutely love them. I wanted to play them, i was awful at the game (still play like trash) but i kept trying, 6 years later and its the only champ i wont get tired of playing. They're one of my comfort characters and bring me lots of joy ✨
KINDRED LOVERS UNITE!!!! What’s the point if you aren’t playing the champion that interests you. I’m still trash at the game too but the lore and design and care that you can tell the team put into the non-game aspects of her (and tbh even her kit is really interesting) are what keep me sticking around. Their theme music especially is beautiful.
I may not play League anymore but I will always have a soft spot for Twisted Fate. One of my favorite fantasy weapon archetypes is "Character who uses cards", so when I saw TF something in my brain went "Yes". He was the first champion I got a skin for, I believe he was my first purchased champion. I remember when he got his VU, I snuck my laptop into my room and played several games with the new TF.

personally i absolutely adore varus!!! i was so fascinated by his lore and think his design is absolutely beautiful, and in picking him up discovered i really, really enjoy playing adc, which i probably never would have learned without him because none of the other adcs even remotely interested me for the longest time (i play pretty much all the standard adcs and jhin now, but for the first while of my league career i pretty much only played enchanters and mages). i love his build diversity and new voice lines and again his story is just sooooo good
Many of these are also my favorite champs, I love unorthodox characters in any game and bonus points if their thematic or personality is appealing (like nunu's adorable voice lines)
I love Fiddle. It's so great. After three games of playing Master Yi, my fourth ever game of league was fiddle. It had been reworked litterally a week ago, but somehow I didn't see nobody play him. And I just fell in love. The weird sounds, unsettling animations, but also the gameplay; easy to use, and really impactful. I just gotta love it. He's the character which I learned League through
Mordekaiser is my fave because his oldest gameplay design legit gave me my first ever powertrip in league. Nothing has felt more empowering than seeing and knowing that you are taking damage and it not showing on your hp while concurrently mowing down enemies.
For me its both Rell and Skarner (pre rework), I started playing league when the odyssey gamemode came out and when I saw some frying bug kidnap me with skarner ult, my friend told me that move was based off a real champ and then I started playing skarner in different lanes (I got m7 on skarner adc). Then there was Rell, I was getting bored of League and then I found out a new support tank is coming out and when she released, she was everything I wanted in a champion, we both hated noxus, and both lost friends (thought I didn't fight mine in a 1v1). I'll be honest I love these videos because it brings the community closer again in a positive way and you make me want to do that now Nickyboi which is why I'm trying to do articles for each champion and their community :) Thank u for the inspiration
syndra was that one champ i couldn’t really grasp but thought was so cool for the longest time it took me awhile to understand her playstyle pre rework she’s been my favorite champ for a long time since then
its been 3 years ish of me being a league player and i will always cherish fiddlesticks. hes the one who got me into the game, because i saw his rework trailer and i was like "YO I GET TO PLAY AS THAT TERRIFYING THING?? AND I GET TO JUMPSCARE PEOPLE IN GAME?????" I've had many phases with different champs, but Fiddle will always always always be my number 1, whether hes terrible in the meta or not, whether riot loves him or not.

For me, it's Swain. Back in the day when I was a high school student, I used to main League where I main pre-Noxian Might Darius, while playing old Swain on the side. I stopped playing eventually because the game stressed me out. Years later before I graduate college, I saw Swain's rework and I think it's the coolest thing in the world. Especially with his coat cape fashion. It took me years to play League again, but I played Swain. It was difficult because landing E is such a chore, but eventually I got the hang of it. I'm not that great in the game, but I feel proud to the hard work and dedication I put into to make him my one and only LVL 7 mastery champ, and whose entire skin catalogue I own. I took a break from PVP because I'm stressing from the game again, but I play him at AI games so I won't be rusty. I'll get back to him one day.
Back when I was little I remember my older cousin playing a lot of league , think relative early days, he mained toplane with stuff like Garen Darius and the one I liked a lot as a little lad, Gnar, but this story isn't about him, you see I happened to be around when my cousin was playing for the Tahm Kench reveal and boy I tell you reacting to him for the first time we already knew he was going to be busted and I little part of me liked him a lot. Fast forward to quarantine days and a friend of mine gets me into wild rift and eventually league and low and behold after playing mordekaiser for a while I switch to Tahm kench out of curiosity and of course I love it immediately. Long story short he was my first mastery 7 and continues to be my loyal main.
How could anyone not like this guy. I have been watching pretty you for such a long time now but I feel like you only get better and better, unlike every other channel. You just stay real. Keep it up.
Karthus is one of my faves and I wish I liked playing him more but he’s my king in ARAM, he is just stupid and goofy and you can make a play style about just throwing yourself at people and slowly burning them Lulu, mischief incarnate, purple, kit that exists to annoy you Briar: love her so sad that the only time people ever mention is to talk about her feet or if she’s a minor, she has a fun unique play style, gremlin energy, I just love cute and I love chaotic and she is one of my faves
Kog is my favorite ADC, mainly because I rerolled Bee'Maw and since you loved it so much I forced myself to plau a bit of the pup to see what he was like. I went from forcing myself to playing him to only wanting to play him if I'm ADC.
Like you Nicky, I do have a loooooooot of champions other people would most likely despise or remiss. Most notable out of the bunch right now is Irelia. There's a lot of champs where i've never looked at them and only played them after their rework. Warwick, Morgana and ofc Irelia. I feel in love with the concept that you could dance with magical blades and the way she breathed so much spectal into Ionia. So i tried to get good with her, which resulted in a blind game where i get mirror matched. I was immediently thinking "look at this handsome fella" and when i explained i tried my best to get good with Irelia, he immediately coached me. helped me get better with her and something just clicked after that. Later that game i got my first ever quadkill and he invited me to his friendgroup and about 7 years later we still play together. Unfortunately the other Irelia player is no longer online but it cermented such a wholesome memory and such a great group of people to play with all because of a typical hour-glass half-goofy/half-eedgelord champion. She's the ivern to my Nickyboi is what i'm trying to say, but also, it's always nice to see someone who plays yasuo/riven/Irelia/etc. that's actually nice Edit: i have just last month started to watch your content and now realize this champion might not have the best reputation huh? Ouh well...

Thresh. I was once watching a league live on Twitch and absolutely fell in love with this creepy green skeleton who ALSO happened to be support. I played him so much and i missed every hook but at least i was happy. This stupid silly character means a lot in my life and dayum, thanks to playin him i made a lot of friends
I adore the old Poppy, because she was my first champ to ever attempt to break the game and even if she's reworked, I still play her on jungle with lethality build. I also relate to her being a goof who doesn't even know she's the actual hero
Never knew you were doing vids with Matt and Ross. Been watching league content since 2011 and it's nice to see how your channel came to be. I find it really cool how everyone starts from somewhere and I love how you still remain yourself even after all this time. Hope to see more content from you for years to come but I still want to you to stay sane as well lol
taric is a character that speaks to me very deeply, he is a very nice person that loves the wolrd, he loves everything that is beautiful, and that is life itself. as someone who fought with hard depression, he was my comfort character. i felt like he was guiding me and showing me the little things that matter out there. and the fact that he failed and willingly paid for what he's done, and coming back as a wiser person, that's so inspiring to me. i want to be the protector i needed when i was younger.
When I first started playing League, it was in November of 2015. Literal days after the preseason patch, as it happened. As the game was downloading, I took a look through the champion list, to see what I'd find. I knew I'd want to play a support, preferably one who can heal allies, and buff them, and otherwise enable them to make plays. So I looked through, and started to recognize some characters from fanart I'd seen around. Ahri, Jinx, Lulu... I looked through each of them to various levels of interest... and then I spotted Sona, and recognized her, too. And took a look, and... oh my, this sounds exactly like the type of kit that appeals to me, let's try her out! And honestly I think it clicked immediately, fell in love with the champion, and practically onetricked her for nine years. While I have over time tried out other champions, Yorick, Urgot, Mordekaiser, Sion, Malzahar... even to this day probably 80% of what I play is JUST Sona. I honestly love her to absolute bits, and she's the main reason I stuck around with League
Jinkx is always going to be the most special league champ to me bc I remember when she dropped she dropped with the Get Jinxed! trailer and it inspired my best friend to pursue her dream to go to art school. So I gifted her Jinkx and she was so happy she posted it on Facebook and she thanked me so much. And I was her support from then on out. She’s not with us anymore but I know she’s in heaven enjoying the Jinx in all her crazy goodness
I remember scrolling through websites back in 2013, and seeing an ad for League. It featured Kha'zix. That weird ass bug got me excited to play League. First character I played was Trundle. First pentakill was with Rammus back when Sunfire Cape was busted. Found my way into ranked and learned how to jungle with Warwick. Absolutley abused Gangplank with crit runes, and loved the Bilgewater event. Braum was the best way for me to show my brothers how to play, and I fell in love with his kind and caring nature. Was blown away with Taliyah's release, and then found a kindred spirit with Neeko. There's a lot of memories I've had with most of the characters. I don't have a lot of time to play League now a days, but I will always love the ever changing universe. League of Legends has been with me for over a decade now, and I can't wait for 2033 when it'll have been with me for almost half my lifespan.
Back when i was in college i was a full on dota player but my friends mostly played league and when i tried playing the game no surprise i was terrible but i wanted to play that one guy i saw in the champ select where i saw Urgot who was this cool robot killer death machine and when my friends described his ult.. they were like he EATS people and automatically that got me into league and learning how to play urgot in top lane also the pleasure of killing someone with you ult while flashing the old mastery 7 was just pure *chef's kiss*
I remember when my friends first got me into league, I was gonna be a vlad main. But one day I was scrolling through the roster looking for a champ to play, and I saw him. FIDDLESTICKS (this was after the rework) and I go "oooo cool like a scarecrow" and then I looked at his abilities. And let me tell you, hearing those gutteral noises. I absolutely fell in love with fiddle. I looked up all his lore. And he is now my main champ, and my absolute favorite champ in all of league history. He will always be my favorite champ and Ive kinda devoted myself to at least trying him in every role every so often. Just so I can still try and be the best I can be. I love fiddlesticks, and he loves me. And he is amazing
Old Gangplank used to be my go to stress relief from school champ, i sinked so many hours into him, i remember when mastery was introduced and champ play time was converted to mastery i instantly got 500k + on him... it was just funny to run around hearing his dumb lines and shooting ppl.
My favorite champion is Garen. (Also Vel'Koz but that's another story). When my friends made me install this forsaken game called League of Legends back in 2016, I got a free skin from connecting my Twitter account. And that's how my journey started with the Demacian Beyblade. I didn't like the game at first but a few years later I started learning the game more and grinding for level 30 so my friends would play with me since ranked would be "fun". During that grind, I found a group of friends that were premade in a random normal I got in. For once I had won my lane and late game I got super tanky but had the entire team after me again and again, but yet I escaped and healed up in no time. They added me to their group and I played with them every night, making me addicted to the game. I loved Garen's old kit, he didn't do that much damage but damn he was tanky, and could regen his health like crazy. His old Ult passive was so cool. And it was amazing for his character, the brave Crownguard Soldier of Demacia would swear to defeat the enemy that had once slain his allies. I miss him... 😢 But he's still my boy. Although I've been playing much more Vel'Koz, Skarner, Hwei and then 90 % of the time playing aram cuz the rift can be such a torture sometimes...
Till the end of time, Veigar and Mordekaiser will remain my favorites form league. Those two were my bread and butter the whole time I was playing and were even my two most played decks in LoR. Even if I don't play league anymore, those two still remind me of the fun I had in it with the homies.

if I have to choose between all of them, I gotta say my three favorite characters are swain, both pre and post rework(s) because it was so fun being birdman and just walking around like an idiot and getting kills, to than being a strategic battle mage with some pretty great bruiser game play, rammus because, voice lines, and W, nothing more, okay, and finally it would probably be veigar for both his backstory and his game play, funny mage make people go boom, but backstory is just depressing as hell turned goofy as hell. anyway thank you so much for just doing videos all these years, iv looked up to you for a while and even started to play ivern because of you, specificly on hit ivern because daisy go bonk, take care and have a great night
I started league 3 years ago and I always kept on switching mains, there's just too much fun and cool champions in this game to only play one or two. One day I looked back at all of the champions I played and then it clicked: why dont I play Viego ? All the experience I have on other champs woule be useful with Viego, and also my main role is jungle. So I start playing him, I get good at him and Im having a lot of fun, I also get to know more about his lore and I find it really nice. I also love the aesthetic around Viego and the shadow isles (I like dark fantasy) and thats how I became a Viego main. I love pretty much every champion of this game, thanks to Viego I can not only like one more but also get to play them all.
It was Warwick for me. I started playing league a while after he got reworked and when I checked out the roster for the first time, Warwick was there and I REALLY was a giant werewolf fan (It's not like you might be thinking, I just find them really cool). And looking at his design, it wasn't just a regular one such as at WOW's. Then I played him and oh my god, his gameplay was all I wanted, it is so enjoyable and fun. Afterwards I checked out his lore and I loved it too, a person who have lost everything including his identity for the past that he couldn't change, I really like those kinds of stories. And after a while, Arcane released and spread all the "Vander is Warwick" theories and I really was happy, because Vander was one of my favourite characters during the show. Overall, personally, I love everything about my beloved champion.
I started playing league like 2 months ago and when I was looking through the champion list to see who would catch my attention, I just saw Smoulder and I was like: an actual dragon champion?, count me in... even when I struggeled a lot bc this game is ruthless starting off, I just loved the silly voicelines of this baby dragon keeping me in high spirits
Your views on Ivern is my view of Zac. I only got into league this year, started off going 0/17 in bot lane on Tristana with friends, eventually found myself in jungle because Zac and Fiddlesticks caught my eye. Fiddlesticks is awesome and he’s in my top three (along with Pyke), but I don’t think I love either of them as much as Zac. He has such a loveable personality and design, his abilities are fun, and his very aggressive play style suits me well. His personality and design is 100% the main draw of him however. Nothing better than a terrifying goo monster having such a pure heart.
Fun fact: You're the person who got me to play League Nicky. And more so, because of Cho'Gath; I had gone to your stream in the Broken Covenant "skin leaks" after watching your videos for a while, and I just had to play it, and today I periodically play League as a Cho'Gath otp, with Ornn and Pantheon on the side
I kind of had the same reaction you had to ivern to Kindred, Fiddlesticks and Neeko. Im 100% sure i would have stopped playing league after the first few matches my friends wanted to play if Neeko, and Kindred (Lillia sorta too) didnt Exist. Kindred was love at first sight, I remember my first ever league video being Necrit explaining Kindreds lore or reading their story. The lore of these Characters are amazing and lend themselves to so many potential stories, and the designs are stellar. I know Neeko and Lillia attract a certain demographic and that all of these Champs I listed are animal hybrids but I simply love how Colourful Neekos splash art is. Every time I look at it I get that nostalgic feeling because I wanted to play as her so badly. Same for Fiddlesticks, I love his design, Voice over and even playstyle despite sucking at it and I know no other Character quite like him. And Kindred as the Death Spirits and the Sick Mask designs actually led to me first maining Jungle, which was a terrible Idea in hindsight but makes for so many memories. And These are my most played Champs by a longshot. While I like many more of the Champs these are the reason I even continue to torture myself in this game XD
As someone who really can not pick a single character and main them, I'm still surprised at how much fun i still have playing lillia. Something about running around as this shy deer, healing and dealing dot just does it for me. I love her for a lot of things and also for making me start caring about jungle in general.
This video helped me realize I should play what I like instead of whats good. I really like goobers like Vex, Kennen and Twitch (mostly just because of character) but their gameplay felt nice to me and it makes me wanna learn about their lore more and see where riot takes it :3
i love blitzcrank, the idea of this 8 bit big bot goofily zooming at you faster than sound and deleting you in seconds (ap crank ftw) nothing else brings me more joy
Warwick for me is my special boy. He is the reason I started to play League, I mained him, play him on every lane possible (Even support) and had a great time, and when the rework was announced I was static, I wanted Warwick to change so he is useful pre-level 6, I wanted him to run on all 4, to bite, to howl and they gave me everything I wanted. Best part? My birthday is on January 25th... Warwick's rework landed on that day. Warwick is my comfort pick (hell, I could say he is my comfort character as well) and I love that doggy so, so much
When i was told to try league i didn't even had a PC, when i got one that could run it then it all started, i tried to understand the game, not so well at the beggining. Then i met her, Annie, in bot lobbies i though the bear was a standalone champ that could teleport where you were; so i tried to understand Annie and found out that she was not so popular when i started playing her seriously. She was the first champion i got a skin (Annie in Wonderland) and from there i played her so much that she was the first champ i got into Mastery 7, i didn't cared about others saying she was a "noob's champ" my objective was burst anyone too confident to dive me. She were the first one to make me realize that i'm good with burst mages, and the rest is history, still bronze player but i'm happy where i am because even she being my best champ to play i like to experiment with other champions and see what i can do, playing with her when the situation calls for a bear destruction.
Kogmaw is so awesome, because his build is versatile and he is basically two different champs, it reminds me the versatility in dota2, where some champs can be played very differently each game, with different builds and talents.
While Veigar was my first ever played champion, I’ll always think of Vel koz as the champ that truly got me to enjoy playing league with my friends. Renata Vex Lillia Nilah Illaoi and specially Skarner (both pre and post rework) are also some of my favorites
When I started playing support, I played a lot of Enchanter like Soraka, Nami and Lulu. One that could be useful through shields and heals, play more passive and just chill until my ADC goes in. That was until the enemy banned Soraka and I picked Nautilus and OH BOI IS HE FUN TO PLAY! That's when my best friend and I started to grind Nautilus Kaisa botlane and suddenly games were so much more fun! I got more confident in my abilities and to stay in lane on my own and I loved engaging fights and going BONK on the enemies. Even though Naut is supposed to be huge, he'll always be my special little silly boy and he really saved my love for the Game. I started playing Leona shortly after and my god, she's so much fun as well.
For me a character i really liked and clicked with once i saw his trailer was aatrox, i love bad guys especially big bad villians, and i loved how end times aatrox felt like he was the guy to end everything and his kit was cool and he looked so badass 🔥
I LOVE RAMMUS! i have an immense love for rammus from even before i played the game and only watched my friends play, i would beg my friend who played jgl to play rammus just so i could watch and barely started playing league last year after a few YEARS of that and im still obsessed with rammus
When I first played the game near release I played the trio of Kog'Maw Leona Rammus. Fast forward to far later after Swain had his reword, I thought all his new voicelines were so cool and started trying that out. Here I first learned a lot of the skills and discipline about getting better at a game. I studied, watched better Swain players and played a truly absurd amount of Swain. The natural next step, was a brief stint as a Kled main, once again purely because he has good voice lines.

In my case it's Bard. I remember once talking with some middle school friends and they were talking about how my best friend always played hard champs like Azir, Pyke or Zoe, so I thought of playing a hard champ. Since I played support there weren't much hard champs for that role except for Thresh, Senna, Pyke and Bard. Eventually I ended up picking Bard because I always liked its weird design, the fact that it was a more serious toned plus sized character (which there aren't many of) and its lore of being a cosmic wanderer focusing on procteting runeterra with the removal of "weird sounds" was always interesting to me. At that moment I was going through a deep depression and playing Bard really helped me to focus on something else, and eventually got me a better and helped me accept myssself a little more although I am still dealing with depression, but just for those facts, I hold that character in high regard, even though I don't like League anymore and rarely play it.
I think one of my favorite Champions is Taric. He was one of those characters I was always curious about, but I didn’t like his original design/gameplay very much. When he had gotten a rework, he quickly became one of my favorite characters. I liked that he’s somewhat flamboyant but still a cool protector type of character. I admittedly don’t play as him as often as I probably should but I enjoy his lore, personality, and design a lot.
for me, my favorite character in league is Nasus followed very closely by warwick and darius, Nasus is such an interesting champion to me because he makes me play actively better since hes so farming focused when I like to be aggressive usually, his lore is fantastic as apart of the shurima storyline and his passion to save his brother. Darius I like the small nuances to what should be a very simple guy because of the comics and cinematics and wanna see more with him, and warwick I played before the rework, and now I love him even more.
Mundo will always have a special place in my heart. And the fact that post rework mundo is still recognizable as Mundo, I know whenever I'll come back to League that he'll be there and I'll have fun with him. Too bad he was kinda weak from nerfs last I played him, but he's still my guy. Nautilus and Poppy also have their place close as Poppy always makes me want to play again and Nautilus reminds me of my favorite time in League which sadly isn't there anymore, but hey that's nostalgia for you.
Orianna made me discover League for that very old art spotlight of her previous splash art but it wasn't up until Camille got announced that I started to play the game. The funny thing is that I don't even own Camille and I ended up being a Morgana main. Also Zilean is my grandpa and he deserves love
Soraka has always been one of my favorites in terms of design and storytelling, I just wish we got a full VGU to really show off her beauty at the base model. Been playing her for over a decade now, love that gal
Glad to hear that from. Personally as soon as I played Senna I knew she was going to be my best champ. A lot of people in multiple roles don't like her, but personally kept playing and after years of playing League I still have fun like the first time.

I like when people can be respectfully passionate about things they like. Either games, videogame characters from said games, whatever. Whenever someone opens their little treasure box of hopes and dreams (don't say it) it just feels right, and somewhat inspiring. You can love, hate, like and despite; but always with an open mind. I HECKING LOVE Zyra and Zilean, and you know what? that's ok. I love Bootleg Poison Ivy and Rewind Grandpa.

When I used to play League, a majority of my time was spent as mage mid laners and enchanters- stuff like Syndra, Ziggs, Ahri, Sona, Soraka, etc. I thought that was what I enjoyed the most because I was a very cautious and patient player that didn't really go in unless someone else did first.
Then I played Kled and realized all I needed was for my character to be the one to go in first and I've been obsessed with him ever since. Everything about him is perfect.

Kled is such a good champ for me, it emodies my playstyle perfectly. I'm a rather casual player, so I really like just screaming NO PRISONEERS as I charge the enemy adc
For me, it's Rell. A ragey teenage metal bender who turns the place she was imprisoned into a badass horse that is also her armor is just one of the coolest things i've encountered in fiction.
Pyke was the one character that I vividly remember watching the trailer during lunch and saying to my friend at the time "I'm going to main him", and I did
I used to always get stuck on the support role since I sucked at every other role, but pyke was so fun that I actually learned how to play support well, and then that role became my favorite thanks to fish zombie man, even after all the nerfs and things removed from his kit like completely removing his ability to clear waves, I do still like playing him in mid by basically playing as a second jingler.
Pyke just feels like My champion in a way, a comfort pick that I just love.

I remember playing League of Legends for the first time, in a Internet Café where the only people who were there were older dudes, and as a 12 year old girl, I felt really intimidated. I played horribly, was really nervous, and didn't understand anything about the game. I remember trying to understand Anivia over and over again, sucking at the controls, but I thought she looked so different and pretty on her Splash Art that I HAD to learn how to play her. I gave up on playing League after I got flamed pretty hard on another bad game.
Fast Foward a few years, I'm 19 and decided to try league again. I first started only on Toplane, but after looking for champions, I remembered Anivia... I played her again, and I couldn't stop. I finally understood how she worked and she was so much fun! Keep them away, the storm will wear them down, keep your calm, you're in control. I like the few bits of info we got about her... She is wise and caring, but also not above mischeavously pranking her siblings and hiding the truth when the prank causes colateral damage. As an older sister, I really relate to her 😅
I really hope Anivia gets more love from Riot. Imagine how angry I got when, after adding Ornn and having the possibility of finally completing the Godly siblings trio.... The bird champion they chose to add next was Swain.
I love anivia too, I feel so calculated when playing her. More anivia love is deserved!

As a Pyke onetrick, the first time i played him, something just clicked the kind of elusive support was just what i needed, the design is just peak without a single flaw and he will always be my soft spot as the champ that got me into league.. But this day it changed as when Aurora came out, i remember when i friend of mine told me at her teaser release "Oi dude why the are you in the game now ?!" And i was so surprised to when i saw her it was straight up just looking into a mirror, personality, appearance, and way of doing was just so much alike that i even started cosplaying her, Plus she was also a elusive and nimble champ, just how i like them ! So i started to main aurora more and more over my beloved pyke °^°
I love Aurora too! The ornn event with her was great. I want to try picking her up as a support, alongside Lux.
kinda funny how you went from the "dark and revenge seeking more or less all in character" to an elusive, very introverted nice behavioral character, while sharing some things with each other, being 180 in many other directions.
yet i wanna say "thats not possible, doesnt fit" while i have the same thing.
im an absolute ADC main with a sweetspot for late game carries. Kog, jhin, jinx, smolder. especially jhins voicelines, ingame behaviour, etc.. im always a big "resonating personality" fan when it comes to champions. and at the same time i love someone like kled SO MUCH. I hate running someone down in early game but with kled, just because of his personality and his whole kit is "go in coward 24/7!" it's just ... fun? even though he sucks balls late game.
I could kinda get going with this because its rare to have youtuber and communities share more then their best meta builds, compares to liking the champion or game because of personality art direction etc but.. it's nice to see.
I was one of the 12 people who used to main the old Aurelion Sol, he was one of the first champions I saw from the game and I absolutely loved everything about him: his thematic, design, personality, voice, lore, music and gameplay. Playing him felt just right to me and was very satisfying to play well on a champ no one else used or knew what he was capable. Making the enemy tilted because I did an insec and killed them under my tower; doing constant damage while kiting and never getting hit; travelling across the map to counter gank or push while knowing no one could stop you... Ah, good times.
But his rework made me immediately lose interest in League, and for me that was the turning point to stop playing the game.

I didn't play him often, but I enjoyed playing him. The new one is braindead compared to the old one, haha. The old one was majestic, constantly having stars orbit him and throwing entire galaxies at people. And if that didn't work to kill them, he himself would intervene and burn the enemy with his breath.
The new one just doesn't fit the image of an incredibly old, wise galactic dragon that has a superiority complex. You just constantly spit at the enemy and if that doesn't work, THEN you throw smth at them.
I do like the black hole ability though. That on is a good ability. I do really like that one.
I mentioned in the last casual champ review for Master Yi, but like Cho’gath for Nicky, Master Yi got me into league as well. His gameplay is simple and designed is really goofy looking now but I like it
Also really nice story with Ivern helping Nicky create a genuine friend group through League. Which funny enough my group does a similar thing where we invite anyone who we is cool/nice enough to join. Some were one-offs but now we have a big group of friends to play together and it’s great

The character that brought me to league was velkoz cuz i loved his design and got more interested in his lore and DUDE am so happy he's very relevant to runeterra (i also love big eyed squids and him being a researcher makes it better to me)
For me is Bard. I didn’t even play when he released but a good chunk of my friends did and they spent years convincing me to play.
They showed me Bard’s champion showcase and something just clicked. Somehow I just knew I’d love play as him and I was 1000% right.
I remember watching yakko's singed montage and just thinking: "This is so idiotic and fast and has sonic music on the background, time to make it my favorite champion". A similar thought process repeated when I tried Lilia and when I saw you play Ivern Mid. Thanks for everything man, you're truly an inspiration to the community, godspeed.
For me, its Thresh and rammus. When both me and my friend started we did gp rammus botlane building whatever we thought looked cool. Then as i started exploring more into the champs, threshes theme being a nod to freddy Krueger and the fact that dispite the black mist distorting and twisting everything, he came out as if nothing had changed him and instead just empowered him. Just pure evil from the start that he couldn't be twisted further.
Yay someone else loves the Skarner redesign! :D I'm talking as a pure lore-enjoyer, non-LoL-player, but I just love him so much!
For me Cho'gath was also the same reason I got into League.
When I first saw league I wasn't convinced at first but then I just saw this giant monster and was like "Woah! Who's that?" It was Cho'gath obviously and when I started playing league I would just play him all day and eventually I had to play someone else because god knows it gets boring playing the same character in the beginning and wanted to try the other champs.
Cho'gath holds a special place in my heart too even if he isn't one of my main champs I play anymore.
I've been playing League since around when Gwen came out, and I think the two champions that got me to stay were Fiddlesticks and Urgot.
I've always wanted to be a voice actor, and my friend wanted to show me some "cool voice acting". He linked me to Fiddlesticks, and I was captured *immediately.* I had some passing knowledge of League before, so I knew Fiddlesticks was just a goofy scarecrow man, but the fact that they managed to turn him into that? I was astounded. So I gave League a shot. But what really made me stay was when I was playing a game and spotted an Urgot rando on our team who was doing extremely well. He was basically a walking tank and seeing him singlehandedly storm his way through the team with a machine gun and putting people in the meat grinder was awe-inspiring.
Nowadays? Urgot is my highest mastery character and Fiddlesticks is pretty close behind.
The world of Runeterra is awesome.
Love the energy of this video, all the good vibes. My favorite has to be Viktor, through struggling to learn the game, hearing about and watching the pros play him in worlds pushing me to get better, and making some great friends through playing the game, plus him being a main character in Arcane, plus the connection I feel with his character in arcane due to also dealing with disability, no champion compares. I just hope they do a good job with him in season 2
For me the 1st character to get me into league was really Azir, the Egyptian god nepo baby just stole my heart. Sad that he’s one of the hardest characters to play so people were happy when little me tried to do so. Coming back yeaaaars later to modern day I’m still scared to really play him, but that’s when my love for Swain and X’erath really shown through. Something about their designs (despite the matter Xerath actively looks like he’s a million years old model wise) and just the way they played put the biggest smile on my face.
Prowlers Claw Rek'Sai was honestly so fun to me, it was so simple and easy to play as someone wanting to get into jungle, still like Rek'Sai but it isn't the same anymore.
Also love full AP enchanters top, most enemy top laners just cry about it in all chat and I feed off that XDD
First champions I played though were Kindred, Rek'Sai and Xayah though. Kindred cause I saw Jonsandman playing TFT Set 1 and I saw Kindred's icon and it looked very mysterious and cool, Rek'Sai cause I thought TFT set 2 Rek'Sai looked super cool and Xayah because I got star guardian out of my first ever crate.
Since then I have immensely enjoyed playing OLD Skarner (bruiser), Ornn, Rakan, Anivia, Senna and Warwick to name a few. I am truly glad to have found this game through a one off TFT video, I have genuinely enjoyed the 3.5k hours in it and hope for more fun in the future.
I feel that, stopped playing shen when they removed the hydras active because that basically made the champ for me, without titanic he's just another tank but with it I could do so much cool things that felt different and good, i'm so glad they brought it back
My two favourite characters from league are rammus and and malphite, I know they’re designs aren’t great, I know they don’t have outstanding storys but I love them. I don’t know I just find them really appealing, just two big, nice and a little dumb monsters chilling in the desert. I guess I just like ground types.
Rammus is literally just the most adorable creature on the planet, right alongside kogmaw. W pick. (Especially durian defender, love that skin!!)

I love Ivern so much. I will never get enough of strolling away, slowing and rooting people as Daisy beats them up or using CC and vision to walk out of someone else's jungle leaving them totally confused about where I went.

When I used to play league, I still remember some of my favorite champions
Vel'koz: he was the guy that made me interested in playing league in the first place
Renekton: I loved his backstory of a fallen brother to Nasus, and I had so much fun landing combos with him
Fiddlesticks: I love how genuinely terrifying Fiddlesticks is in terms of lore and design, and I was able to steal the baron with him
Modekaiser: Just walking around like a badass raid boss was so satisfying
Twitch: he is full of pure gremlin energy, and he's one of the few adcs that I enjoyed playing as.
Jinx and Vi: not only are they both fun to play as, but their role in arcane made me love the two even more.
Bard: Just the design alone makes me love this cosmic support, and flying around was a lot of fun
Braun: supreme chad
And finally, Rammus... He's ok
I too was once a person that would get upset when people didn’t like the new Skarner, for example. Until this stream and now this Video opened my monke brain properly.
There will always be people who think the old design was better, and that’s okay. It doesn’t affect me much anymore, because no matter what, Skarner, Voli, Ornn, Asol and Swain will always have a special place in my heart. And while I love these characters deeply, they aren’t real and anyone can have whatever opinion on them as they see fit. Thank you NickyBoi for this video and your message ^v^
my gripe with skarner is that it feels like a totally different champ kinda like old galio/sion/urgot compared to their new version. I do like his current kit and love the design but it's so different that I don't find the same type of fun I had with old skarner playing the rework, skarner was a very niche champ and now there's just no champ like him to fill the gap that rework made.
Illaoi is so unique and having so much love by the creator they even create a whole religion because of her. I think she's one of if not the highest impact character launched on runeterra universe

My friends invited me to play league and one of them told me to look for a champion to main, I saw Kindred, amazing design, read bio, absolutely love them. I wanted to play them, i was awful at the game (still play like trash) but i kept trying, 6 years later and its the only champ i wont get tired of playing. They're one of my comfort characters and bring me lots of joy ✨
KINDRED LOVERS UNITE!!!! What’s the point if you aren’t playing the champion that interests you. I’m still trash at the game too but the lore and design and care that you can tell the team put into the non-game aspects of her (and tbh even her kit is really interesting) are what keep me sticking around. Their theme music especially is beautiful.
I may not play League anymore but I will always have a soft spot for Twisted Fate.
One of my favorite fantasy weapon archetypes is "Character who uses cards", so when I saw TF something in my brain went "Yes". He was the first champion I got a skin for, I believe he was my first purchased champion.
I remember when he got his VU, I snuck my laptop into my room and played several games with the new TF.

personally i absolutely adore varus!!! i was so fascinated by his lore and think his design is absolutely beautiful, and in picking him up discovered i really, really enjoy playing adc, which i probably never would have learned without him because none of the other adcs even remotely interested me for the longest time (i play pretty much all the standard adcs and jhin now, but for the first while of my league career i pretty much only played enchanters and mages). i love his build diversity and new voice lines and again his story is just sooooo good
Many of these are also my favorite champs, I love unorthodox characters in any game and bonus points if their thematic or personality is appealing (like nunu's adorable voice lines)
I love Fiddle. It's so great. After three games of playing Master Yi, my fourth ever game of league was fiddle. It had been reworked litterally a week ago, but somehow I didn't see nobody play him. And I just fell in love. The weird sounds, unsettling animations, but also the gameplay; easy to use, and really impactful. I just gotta love it. He's the character which I learned League through
Mordekaiser is my fave because his oldest gameplay design legit gave me my first ever powertrip in league. Nothing has felt more empowering than seeing and knowing that you are taking damage and it not showing on your hp while concurrently mowing down enemies.
For me its both Rell and Skarner (pre rework), I started playing league when the odyssey gamemode came out and when I saw some frying bug kidnap me with skarner ult, my friend told me that move was based off a real champ and then I started playing skarner in different lanes (I got m7 on skarner adc). Then there was Rell, I was getting bored of League and then I found out a new support tank is coming out and when she released, she was everything I wanted in a champion, we both hated noxus, and both lost friends (thought I didn't fight mine in a 1v1). I'll be honest I love these videos because it brings the community closer again in a positive way and you make me want to do that now Nickyboi which is why I'm trying to do articles for each champion and their community :) Thank u for the inspiration
syndra was that one champ i couldn’t really grasp but thought was so cool for the longest time it took me awhile to understand her playstyle pre rework she’s been my favorite champ for a long time since then
its been 3 years ish of me being a league player and i will always cherish fiddlesticks. hes the one who got me into the game, because i saw his rework trailer and i was like "YO I GET TO PLAY AS THAT TERRIFYING THING?? AND I GET TO JUMPSCARE PEOPLE IN GAME?????" I've had many phases with different champs, but Fiddle will always always always be my number 1, whether hes terrible in the meta or not, whether riot loves him or not.
Glad you’re passionate about these champs. For me it’s Bandle City peeps like Yuumi and Tristana (I love cats and animals in general). Also Mordekaiser, Morgana, Vex, Thresh, Asol. Warwick…there’s quite a few.
For me, it's Swain.
Back in the day when I was a high school student, I used to main League where I main pre-Noxian Might Darius, while playing old Swain on the side.
I stopped playing eventually because the game stressed me out.
Years later before I graduate college, I saw Swain's rework and I think it's the coolest thing in the world. Especially with his coat cape fashion.
It took me years to play League again, but I played Swain. It was difficult because landing E is such a chore, but eventually I got the hang of it.
I'm not that great in the game, but I feel proud to the hard work and dedication I put into to make him my one and only LVL 7 mastery champ, and whose entire skin catalogue I own.
I took a break from PVP because I'm stressing from the game again, but I play him at AI games so I won't be rusty. I'll get back to him one day.
Back when I was little I remember my older cousin playing a lot of league , think relative early days, he mained toplane with stuff like Garen Darius and the one I liked a lot as a little lad, Gnar, but this story isn't about him, you see I happened to be around when my cousin was playing for the Tahm Kench reveal and boy I tell you reacting to him for the first time we already knew he was going to be busted and I little part of me liked him a lot. Fast forward to quarantine days and a friend of mine gets me into wild rift and eventually league and low and behold after playing mordekaiser for a while I switch to Tahm kench out of curiosity and of course I love it immediately. Long story short he was my first mastery 7 and continues to be my loyal main.
How could anyone not like this guy. I have been watching pretty you for such a long time now but I feel like you only get better and better, unlike every other channel. You just stay real. Keep it up.
Karthus is one of my faves and I wish I liked playing him more but he’s my king in ARAM, he is just stupid and goofy and you can make a play style about just throwing yourself at people and slowly burning them

Briar: love her so sad that the only time people ever mention is to talk about her feet or if she’s a minor, she has a fun unique play style, gremlin energy, I just love cute and I love chaotic and she is one of my faves

Kog is my favorite ADC, mainly because I rerolled Bee'Maw and since you loved it so much I forced myself to plau a bit of the pup to see what he was like. I went from forcing myself to playing him to only wanting to play him if I'm ADC.
Like you Nicky, I do have a loooooooot of champions other people would most likely despise or remiss. Most notable out of the bunch right now is Irelia. There's a lot of champs where i've never looked at them and only played them after their rework. Warwick, Morgana and ofc Irelia. I feel in love with the concept that you could dance with magical blades and the way she breathed so much spectal into Ionia.
So i tried to get good with her, which resulted in a blind game where i get mirror matched. I was immediently thinking "look at this handsome fella" and when i explained i tried my best to get good with Irelia, he immediately coached me. helped me get better with her and something just clicked after that. Later that game i got my first ever quadkill and he invited me to his friendgroup and about 7 years later we still play together.
Unfortunately the other Irelia player is no longer online but it cermented such a wholesome memory and such a great group of people to play with all because of a typical hour-glass half-goofy/half-eedgelord champion. She's the ivern to my Nickyboi is what i'm trying to say, but also, it's always nice to see someone who plays yasuo/riven/Irelia/etc. that's actually nice

Thresh. I was once watching a league live on Twitch and absolutely fell in love with this creepy green skeleton who ALSO happened to be support. I played him so much and i missed every hook but at least i was happy. This stupid silly character means a lot in my life and dayum, thanks to playin him i made a lot of friends
I adore the old Poppy, because she was my first champ to ever attempt to break the game and even if she's reworked, I still play her on jungle with lethality build. I also relate to her being a goof who doesn't even know she's the actual hero
Never knew you were doing vids with Matt and Ross. Been watching league content since 2011 and it's nice to see how your channel came to be. I find it really cool how everyone starts from somewhere and I love how you still remain yourself even after all this time. taric is a character that speaks to me very deeply, he is a very nice person that loves the wolrd, he loves everything that is beautiful, and that is life itself. as someone who fought with hard depression, he was my comfort character. i felt like he was guiding me and showing me the little things that matter out there. and the fact that he failed and willingly paid for what he's done, and coming back as a wiser person, that's so inspiring to me. i want to be the protector i needed when i was younger.
When I first started playing League, it was in November of 2015. Literal days after the preseason patch, as it happened. As the game was downloading, I took a look through the champion list, to see what I'd find. I knew I'd want to play a support, preferably one who can heal allies, and buff them, and otherwise enable them to make plays.
So I looked through, and started to recognize some characters from fanart I'd seen around. Ahri, Jinx, Lulu... I looked through each of them to various levels of interest... and then I spotted Sona, and recognized her, too. And took a look, and... oh my, this sounds exactly like the type of kit that appeals to me, let's try her out!
And honestly I think it clicked immediately, fell in love with the champion, and practically onetricked her for nine years.
While I have over time tried out other champions, Yorick, Urgot, Mordekaiser, Sion, Malzahar... even to this day probably 80% of what I play is JUST Sona. I honestly love her to absolute bits, and she's the main reason I stuck around with League
Jinkx is always going to be the most special league champ to me bc I remember when she dropped she dropped with the Get Jinxed! trailer and it inspired my best friend to pursue her dream to go to art school. So I gifted her Jinkx and she was so happy she posted it on Facebook and she thanked me so much. And I was her support from then on out.
She’s not with us anymore but I know she’s in heaven enjoying the Jinx in all her crazy goodness
I remember scrolling through websites back in 2013, and seeing an ad for League. It featured Kha'zix. That weird ass bug got me excited to play League.
First character I played was Trundle. First pentakill was with Rammus back when Sunfire Cape was busted. Found my way into ranked and learned how to jungle with Warwick. Absolutley abused Gangplank with crit runes, and loved the Bilgewater event. Braum was the best way for me to show my brothers how to play, and I fell in love with his kind and caring nature. Was blown away with Taliyah's release, and then found a kindred spirit with Neeko.
There's a lot of memories I've had with most of the characters. I don't have a lot of time to play League now a days, but I will always love the ever changing universe. League of Legends has been with me for over a decade now, and I can't wait for 2033 when it'll have been with me for almost half my lifespan.
Back when i was in college i was a full on dota player but my friends mostly played league and when i tried playing the game no surprise i was terrible but i wanted to play that one guy i saw in the champ select where i saw Urgot who was this cool robot killer death machine and when my friends described his ult.. they were like he EATS people and automatically that got me into league and learning how to play urgot in top lane
also the pleasure of killing someone with you ult while flashing the old mastery 7 was just pure *chef's kiss*
I remember when my friends first got me into league, I was gonna be a vlad main. But one day I was scrolling through the roster looking for a champ to play, and I saw him. FIDDLESTICKS (this was after the rework) and I go "oooo cool like a scarecrow" and then I looked at his abilities. And let me tell you, hearing those gutteral noises. I absolutely fell in love with fiddle. I looked up all his lore. And he is now my main champ, and my absolute favorite champ in all of league history. He will always be my favorite champ and Ive kinda devoted myself to at least trying him in every role every so often. Just so I can still try and be the best I can be. I love fiddlesticks, and he loves me. And he is amazing
Old Gangplank used to be my go to stress relief from school champ, i sinked so many hours into him, i remember when mastery was introduced and champ play time was converted to mastery i instantly got 500k + on him... it was just funny to run around hearing his dumb lines and shooting ppl.
My favorite champion is Garen. (Also Vel'Koz but that's another story). When my friends made me install this forsaken game called League of Legends back in 2016, I got a free skin from connecting my Twitter account. And that's how my journey started with the Demacian Beyblade. I didn't like the game at first but a few years later I started learning the game more and grinding for level 30 so my friends would play with me since ranked would be "fun". During that grind, I found a group of friends that were premade in a random normal I got in. For once I had won my lane and late game I got super tanky but had the entire team after me again and again, but yet I escaped and healed up in no time. They added me to their group and I played with them every night, making me addicted to the game. I loved Garen's old kit, he didn't do that much damage but damn he was tanky, and could regen his health like crazy. His old Ult passive was so cool. And it was amazing for his character, the brave Crownguard Soldier of Demacia would swear to defeat the enemy that had once slain his allies. I miss him... 😢 But he's still my boy. Although I've been playing much more Vel'Koz, Skarner, Hwei and then 90 % of the time playing aram cuz the rift can be such a torture sometimes...

Till the end of time, Veigar and Mordekaiser will remain my favorites form league. Those two were my bread and butter the whole time I was playing and were even my two most played decks in LoR. Even if I don't play league anymore, those two still remind me of the fun I had in it with the homies.

if I have to choose between all of them, I gotta say my three favorite characters are swain, both pre and post rework(s) because it was so fun being birdman and just walking around like an idiot and getting kills, to than being a strategic battle mage with some pretty great bruiser game play, rammus because, voice lines, and W, nothing more, okay, and finally it would probably be veigar for both his backstory and his game play, funny mage make people go boom, but backstory is just depressing as hell turned goofy as hell. anyway thank you so much for just doing videos all these years, iv looked up to you for a while and even started to play ivern because of you, specificly on hit ivern because daisy go bonk, take care and have a great night
I started league 3 years ago and I always kept on switching mains, there's just too much fun and cool champions in this game to only play one or two. One day I looked back at all of the champions I played and then it clicked: why dont I play Viego ?
All the experience I have on other champs woule be useful with Viego, and also my main role is jungle. So I start playing him, I get good at him and Im having a lot of fun, I also get to know more about his lore and I find it really nice. I also love the aesthetic around Viego and the shadow isles (I like dark fantasy) and thats how I became a Viego main.
I love pretty much every champion of this game, thanks to Viego I can not only like one more but also get to play them all.
It was Warwick for me. I started playing league a while after he got reworked and when I checked out the roster for the first time, Warwick was there and I REALLY was a giant werewolf fan (It's not like you might be thinking, I just find them really cool). And looking at his design, it wasn't just a regular one such as at WOW's.
Then I played him and oh my god, his gameplay was all I wanted, it is so enjoyable and fun.
Afterwards I checked out his lore and I loved it too, a person who have lost everything including his identity for the past that he couldn't change, I really like those kinds of stories.
And after a while, Arcane released and spread all the "Vander is Warwick" theories and I really was happy, because Vander was one of my favourite characters during the show.
Overall, personally, I love everything about my beloved champion.
I started playing league like 2 months ago and when I was looking through the champion list to see who would catch my attention, I just saw Smoulder and I was like: an actual dragon champion?, count me in...
even when I struggeled a lot bc this game is ruthless starting off, I just loved the silly voicelines of this baby dragon keeping me in high spirits
Your views on Ivern is my view of Zac. I only got into league this year, started off going 0/17 in bot lane on Tristana with friends, eventually found myself in jungle because Zac and Fiddlesticks caught my eye. Fiddlesticks is awesome and he’s in my top three (along with Pyke), but I don’t think I love either of them as much as Zac. He has such a loveable personality and design, his abilities are fun, and his very aggressive play style suits me well. His personality and design is 100% the main draw of him however. Nothing better than a terrifying goo monster having such a pure heart.
Fun fact: You're the person who got me to play League Nicky. And more so, because of Cho'Gath; I had gone to your stream in the Broken Covenant "skin leaks" after watching your videos for a while, and I just had to play it, and today I periodically play League as a Cho'Gath otp, with Ornn and Pantheon on the side
I kind of had the same reaction you had to ivern to Kindred, Fiddlesticks and Neeko. Im 100% sure i would have stopped playing league after the first few matches my friends wanted to play if Neeko, and Kindred (Lillia sorta too) didnt Exist. Kindred was love at first sight, I remember my first ever league video being Necrit explaining Kindreds lore or reading their story. The lore of these Characters are amazing and lend themselves to so many potential stories, and the designs are stellar. I know Neeko and Lillia attract a certain demographic and that all of these Champs I listed are animal hybrids but I simply love how Colourful Neekos splash art is. Every time I look at it I get that nostalgic feeling because I wanted to play as her so badly. Same for Fiddlesticks, I love his design, Voice over and even playstyle despite sucking at it and I know no other Character quite like him. And Kindred as the Death Spirits and the Sick Mask designs actually led to me first maining Jungle, which was a terrible Idea in hindsight but makes for so many memories. And These are my most played Champs by a longshot. While I like many more of the Champs these are the reason I even continue to torture myself in this game XD
As someone who really can not pick a single character and main them, I'm still surprised at how much fun i still have playing lillia. Something about running around as this shy deer, healing and dealing dot just does it for me. I love her for a lot of things and also for making me start caring about jungle in general.

Warwick for me is my special boy. He is the reason I started to play League, I mained him, play him on every lane possible (Even support) and had a great time, and when the rework was announced I was static, I wanted Warwick to change so he is useful pre-level 6, I wanted him to run on all 4, to bite, to howl and they gave me everything I wanted. Best part? My birthday is on January 25th... Warwick's rework landed on that day. Warwick is my comfort pick (hell, I could say he is my comfort character as well) and I love that doggy so, so much
When i was told to try league i didn't even had a PC, when i got one that could run it then it all started, i tried to understand the game, not so well at the beggining. Then i met her, Annie, in bot lobbies i though the bear was a standalone champ that could teleport where you were; so i tried to understand Annie and found out that she was not so popular when i started playing her seriously.
She was the first champion i got a skin (Annie in Wonderland) and from there i played her so much that she was the first champ i got into Mastery 7, i didn't cared about others saying she was a "noob's champ" my objective was burst anyone too confident to dive me. She were the first one to make me realize that i'm good with burst mages, and the rest is history, still bronze player but i'm happy where i am because even she being my best champ to play i like to experiment with other champions and see what i can do, playing with her when the situation calls for a bear destruction.
Kogmaw is so awesome, because his build is versatile and he is basically two different champs, it reminds me the versatility in dota2, where some champs can be played very differently each game, with different builds and talents.
While Veigar was my first ever played champion, I’ll always think of Vel koz as the champ that truly got me to enjoy playing league with my friends. Renata Vex Lillia Nilah Illaoi and specially Skarner (both pre and post rework) are also some of my favorites
When I started playing support, I played a lot of Enchanter like Soraka, Nami and Lulu. One that could be useful through shields and heals, play more passive and just chill until my ADC goes in. That was until the enemy banned Soraka and I picked Nautilus and OH BOI IS HE FUN TO PLAY! That's when my best friend and I started to grind Nautilus Kaisa botlane and suddenly games were so much more fun! I got more confident in my abilities and to stay in lane on my own and I loved engaging fights and going BONK on the enemies.
Even though Naut is supposed to be huge, he'll always be my special little silly boy and he really saved my love for the Game. I started playing Leona shortly after and my god, she's so much fun as well.
For me a character i really liked and clicked with once i saw his trailer was aatrox, i love bad guys especially big bad villians, and i loved how end times aatrox felt like he was the guy to end everything and his kit was cool and he looked so badass 🔥
I LOVE RAMMUS! i have an immense love for rammus from even before i played the game and only watched my friends play, i would beg my friend who played jgl to play rammus just so i could watch and barely started playing league last year after a few YEARS of that and im still obsessed with rammus
When I first played the game near release I played the trio of Kog'Maw Leona Rammus. Fast forward to far later after Swain had his reword, I thought all his new voicelines were so cool and started trying that out. Here I first learned a lot of the skills and discipline about getting better at a game. I studied, watched better Swain players and played a truly absurd amount of Swain.
The natural next step, was a brief stint as a Kled main, once again purely because he has good voice lines.

The character that got me into league was Sivir, the character that made me stay was also sivir (she got some love when azir was released)
In my case it's Bard. I remember once talking with some middle school friends and they were talking about how my best friend always played hard champs like Azir, Pyke or Zoe, so I thought of playing a hard champ. Since I played support there weren't much hard champs for that role except for Thresh, Senna, Pyke and Bard. Eventually I ended up picking Bard because I always liked its weird design, the fact that it was a more serious toned plus sized character (which there aren't many of) and its lore of being a cosmic wanderer focusing on procteting runeterra with the removal of "weird sounds" was always interesting to me. At that moment I was going through a deep depression and playing Bard really helped me to focus on something else, and eventually got me a better and helped me accept myssself a little more although I am still dealing with depression, but just for those facts, I hold that character in high regard, even though I don't like League anymore and rarely play it.
I think one of my favorite Champions is Taric. He was one of those characters I was always curious about, but I didn’t like his original design/gameplay very much. When he had gotten a rework, he quickly became one of my favorite characters. I liked that he’s somewhat flamboyant but still a cool protector type of character. I admittedly don’t play as him as often as I probably should but I enjoy his lore, personality, and design a lot.
for me, my favorite character in league is Nasus followed very closely by warwick and darius, Nasus is such an interesting champion to me because he makes me play actively better since hes so farming focused when I like to be aggressive usually, his lore is fantastic as apart of the shurima storyline and his passion to save his brother. Darius I like the small nuances to what should be a very simple guy because of the comics and cinematics and wanna see more with him, and warwick I played before the rework, and now I love him even more.
Mundo will always have a special place in my heart. And the fact that post rework mundo is still recognizable as Mundo, I know whenever I'll come back to League that he'll be there and I'll have fun with him. Too bad he was kinda weak from nerfs last I played him, but he's still my guy. Nautilus and Poppy also have their place close as Poppy always makes me want to play again and Nautilus reminds me of my favorite time in League which sadly isn't there anymore, but hey that's nostalgia for you.
Orianna made me discover League for that very old art spotlight of her previous splash art but it wasn't up until Camille got announced that I started to play the game. The funny thing is that I don't even own Camille and I ended up being a Morgana main.
Also Zilean is my grandpa and he deserves love
Soraka has always been one of my favorites in terms of design and storytelling, I just wish we got a full VGU to really show off her beauty at the base model. Been playing her for over a decade now, love that gal
