Amtrak southbound Carolinian Train 79 performs the power change at Washington DC's Union Station with ACS-86 #630 electric engine being swapped for P42DC #25.

I gotta take a trip back up to DC and watch some train action. I live in Richmond so its a 1.5-2 hour trip by train. This stuff looks cool to watch in person.

I see why they did that because I guess with the train is going doesn’t have electrified tracks in which a diesel locomotive had to continue the route
