VRE train ride from Washington DC Union Station to Franconia Springfield station.

Fredericksburg Line of Virginia Railway Express. Most of the filmed jouney is on the tripple track section. Some marks of electrification still remain. Beside Alexandria tracks run along overground metro line (Blue and Yellow lines). Train is leaded by MPI MP36PH-3C diesel-electric passenger train locomotive.

Station announcement is out-of sync. Announces Union Station when at L'Enfant Plaza, etc. Rode the line for 4 years on the Fredericksburg-the best way to commute in/put of DC.

Man, that train squeaks like an antiquated jalopy. Anyway, what is that contraption running down the center of the aisle? Looks like you can see the downstairs seating area through the opening under it.
