Is it common to have trouble eating after this kind of surgery?

Very common from what I understand. They basically took out 1/3 to 1/2 of my stomach and about half of the esophagus. Then they turn what is left of the stomach into a tube which they attach to what’s left of the esophagus leaving one long tube from the esophagus to the intestines. During the surgery they have to cut the Vagas nerve which controls a lot of things in the body, including most everything to do with eating and digestion. I don’t think everyone has as much trouble as I have though. Guess I’m just lucky. My Gastroenterologist seems to think it will work out with time so I’m just hoping he is right and hoping it will happen soon. Blessed to have a feeding tube to supplement all my eating troubles, but being hooked up to a formula drip for 9 hours a day makes it tough to do much else. Sorry it took a bit for me to see this comment, but hope this clears some stuff up. If you have more questions feel free to ask. I don’t want to bore anyone, but I’m perfectly open to any and all questions. It’s definitely an unusual situation for most… thank goodness! Thanks for following along and thanks for asking! Hope all is well with you and yours! 😜👍❤️

@@AardvrkUpdates I did some research of the vegas nerve and I had no idea it controls so much! That feeding tube is so crazy that it takes so long. I've seen babies with feeding tubes but i didn't know I took so long to take in all the liquid.
