Hi Ryan, I have one question about the secondary air pump on my E39 M5. I know you did the software delete on your car but can you tell me if the pump is audible when everything is fine with the system? I had damaged/clogged air hoses and the pump was clearly audible then at cold starts. Now I repaired the air hoses and now I don't hear the pump on cold starts anymore. Is this normal? I don't get any code or engine light, so can I assume everything is fine? Is it possible the ECU increases RPM of the air pump to compensate too low airflow due to a leaking hose, or does the pump always run with the same rpm? Thanks!
Some pumps are loud, some are silent. The tune does not disable the pump, just the error reporting of a specific code (secondary air, flow too late) related to the pump. A freshly rebuilt pump might just be that quiet. Without any stored error codes, I wouldn't worry about anything.
I have a question about 90C thermostats for the M62 4.4 E39 version. I have a 6 speed and BAVLOGIC who has been recalibrating the OEM Behr versions had stopped doing it. Can you advise for a new source?
@@E39Source agree, the thing is that in my country daylights are mandatory so I have coded in LCM daytime running lights EU witch keeps turned on high beam bulbs on at a dimmed level. They look yellow and give an obsolete look. I rarely use high beam as my low beam is now more than enough after upgraded the old H7 projectors to hella evo x2 d2s with original ballasts and osram bulbs. Since these projectors are clear lens and have bixenon function also ,my goal is to implement the bixenon witch curently unpluged keeping lcm 3b and daylights as originaly designed but this is more complicated as may appear due to fact that cannot just tap bixenon coils into hi beam harness. It can be done the proper way building a module with some zenner and stuff like that. I won't bore with details but it can be done without x5 lcm 4 that natively supports bixenon and daylights. Now with or without bixenon function if I want led on high beam I hate those chineese things with fans and adapter cullers and a mess with wires so on. I won't do it if is not oem look and well engineered electronics modules. I saw osram have some great products no aditional drivers required but still not a direct replacement for H7 halogen bulbs in terms of mounting...
I replaced all my bulbs and they look fantastic, one exception The glovebox in the map lights do not work. Is there a fuse for these lights? If so do you know the location?
@@E39Source The old lights worked fine, I think I must’ve shorted something out with the glove box. I looked at the diagram in the glove box, it doesn’t say anything about glove box fuse. Also both of my trunk lights are the same. The one under the rear deck does not use the wedge light
@@larrymeister5255 The LED lights are polarity sensitive, is it possible you have them in backwards? If the old bulbs work and the new LEDs do not (even with switched around), then you got some bad LED bulbs.

@@E39Source Thank you so much. Any suggestions for high beams - plug&play oem style just as we like it...
@@florinlepadatu5648 For white high-beams? I've always just used the stock bulbs, they have more than enough light output for my needs.
2001 model and no PDC even on the rear?
PDC is one of 4 options for the E39 M5. The others are folding rear seats, window shades, and M-Audio. My car (2002) has the audio and seats.
Wow 👌
I replaced all my bulbs and they look fantastic, one exception The glovebox in the map lights do not work. Is there a fuse for these lights? If so do you know the location?
There would be a fuse somewhere, but I am not sure where. Check the diagram in the glovebox! Did the old lights work?
@@E39Source The old lights worked fine, I think I must’ve shorted something out with the glove box. I looked at the diagram in the glove box, it doesn’t say anything about glove box fuse. Also both of my trunk lights are the same. The one under the rear deck does not use the wedge light
@@larrymeister5255 The LED lights are polarity sensitive, is it possible you have them in backwards? If the old bulbs work and the new LEDs do not (even with switched around), then you got some bad LED bulbs.
@@E39Source I know they are polarity sensitive. I tried them both ways. I’m pretty sure it’s a fuse but I don’t know where that fuse is. I do not have a repair manual for my 2002 530i
@@larrymeister5255 Fuse diagrams are not in the manual, just the paper card next to the fuses in the glovebox and the sticker on the right trunk oddments door.
Try to make videos on how you actually do the work on cars. It would be great help to all of us around the world 🙂
Have you watch his channel at all?! Tons of how to videos, his channel is a great resource!
