There is a stipulation somewhere that if a player gambled on baseball, the person shall be permanently ineligible. I just found this channel over this, sad, topic. While I would have loved to see forgiveness and rehabilitation for Pete Rose, I understand and appreciate the argument against. I am quite new to watching baseball and I enjoyed Mr. Rose’s work as an analyst. He was funny and provided so much insight into a sport that was foreign to me. That’s why I have a soft spot for him and enjoyed to see a man in his seventies letting out his child-like love for a sport whenever he was given a chance to talk about it. I’m starting to genuinely believe that Pete Rose’s career greatness is more mainstream and amplified specifically because he was kept out of Hall of Fame and the controversy surrounding it. And at the end of the day isn’t that what’s important, is the legacy that the Hall of Fame creates?
