Also, they could just go to Mexico for the winter, they could each sell a kidney, easily get 10k for each, put it right toward their debt... if it gets them out of debt a month earlier, then it's worth it!! Hopefully their sutures will hold after they hitch hike to Nashville and do a debt-free scream!

If you have a fixed rate mortgage then no, you're not going to be defaulting on something that's already in your budget. Mike Hunt, best comment I've heard. They should not sell a house they just bought either. They will end up losing money right there. Dave should research real estate before giving advice. There's escrow fees and realtor fees as well. They will end up in the hole after selling. Sheesh, just stop tithing, sell trailer, get a older used car, use coupons, and so much more to cut back. Don't sell the house.

If you owe debt to a credit card company and they attempt to sue you and garnish your wages, get an attorney. They can get you out because there is a loop hole they cant sue if they write off your debt on their taxes. Any damage done to your credit score will be removed as well.

You've got to be careful saying, "the credit card can't do anything to you except damage your credit." It depends to whom you owe money. If your mortgage on the house and your credit card are both through the same bank and they use a dragnet clause in their contracts, they can foreclose on the house for defaulting on the credit card.
