He’s still relatively recent since he joined in 2020. But I hadn’t tuned into Dave for awhile so John is a recent discovery for me and definitely a great add compared to the old days.
She's not in love with the area and the multiple trips a day she has to drive to drop off kids to school, then shuttle kids backs and forth to activities, groceries, errands, friends, and church. All eat up her day behind the wheel. But she doesn't feel she has a say because her husband is the breadwinner and he has the real estate development dream. Therefore, she is the one who has to make that daily sacrifice.
That time each way taking multiple trips a day would eat a ton of your day away and definitely be a grind after some time. She’s speaking about math because if she simply told her husband about hating the drive he wouldn’t sign off on it because he doesn’t want to move. So she is hoping that a math argument could work because the time spent in her car either hasn’t worked or won’t work.
They didn't make the basic suggestion that seem obvious; sell some of the land to get in a better financial place and live with the drive. They also didn't ask if they could even get a house for less money if they moved close to town, typically as you move closer to town the prices go up. They may end up with less land, less house and still owe more.
They don't want to sell plots yet which is the problem. They are waiting for the town to build schools, grocery stores and a church so they can sell when the value goes up. The problem is they have no idea how far away that is and the husband isn't doing the school run.
As they mention it isn’t a math thing for her she doesn’t like having to spend hours in her car every day ferrying her kids around. Hence why they didn’t make those suggestions because the math isn’t what her issue actually is. Part of answering calls is giving people the advice that pertains to their actual questions.
Well that was a frustrating call. She stressed me out. She made it sound really confusing as far as where the houses were at. Obviously she has her desire and the husband has his. But the husband has the leverage of making all the money lol. It seems like they're on different sides so until they can come to something they agree on they need to not do anything. If they move the husband is going to resent her for making him give up his dream, just for her preferences.

Marriage is hard and all about compromise. You both can get what you want, one can get what they want, and sometimes neither of you get what you want. It’s worth it even during the days of “I love you but that doesn’t mean I have to like you right now”. 😂 When it comes down to what matters, it’s really worth it.

I couldn’t imagine driving 30 mins to anything. That’s way too far. I live in a big city and don’t know anyone moving. Not everyone wants to live in the middle of nowhere. I like to walk everywhere.
Try living in the Seattle area at 2am its a twenty minute drive from Lynnwood to Seattle but during the day its a hour or longer for the same trip put a nice audio book on and enjoy the drive.

"We" sounds like it was her idea, he just went along. Using the kids and driving as a excuse. She want amenities I bet she doesn't work. She wants big city life without the cash. Always the man's fault. Stay single.
Does “stay single” include refraining from dating, flirting, or doing anything that might raise a woman’s hopes that you’re interested in her, as well as tactfully and immediately stopping any woman who demonstrates interest? Also not partaking of cruder mechanical employment of the female anatomy, because invariably the woman’s feelings and pride are aroused, regardless.
