I play JPX 919 tours did a head to head against ZX7 in the spring outside Mizuno won they said come back in the summer the ZX7 will do better in the heat I'll try again. What I like about the mizuno is I know the distance each iron will give me within 5 yards and I use a Modus 120 stiff shaft and a tour velvet cord grip.
I had the pleasure of hitting both. The Srixon has stronger lofts which is something to consider. The zx7 felt hot off the face and would get a few fliers when striking it pure, making it a littler more unpredictable. I went with the tour as I thought it was forgiving enough and was insanely consistent. The great strikes were all great results. You are going to hit that same number more often. The okay strikes were still okay results. Where as the pure/great strikes with the zx7 were less consistent in their carry numbers. Each players swing and overall goal is going to get a different result.
Just a heads up, 6 iron to 7 iron are usually about 4 degrees in loft difference and an added 1/2 inch (Bryson not included). So 2 degrees loft should account for 2.5 to 3 yrds per deg ~ 6yrdsish
Any mid handicappers +/- 15 tried these? Any chance of getting them in the hands of a mid handicapper on video? My coach suggests more a players iron with Apex CF19 or 921 forged a better fit. Thanks
Surprised that you were surprised that the Srixon irons were performing so good. Srixon make great irons. But for me the Mizuno JPX tour are going in the bag with Nippon NS Pro shaft. Tested them on trackman but also on course and shots with the demo 7 iron were going straight to the pin. Both are good irons so when you are in the market test both (on trackman or GCquad and if possible also on course) and also the new P7 MC irons with different shafts and decide what works best for your game👍🏽
Ive just been on a club fitting and these are the 2 models Ive narrowed down my choice to. I went to the fitting thinking the Taylormade p770 or the Mizuno Jpx921 forged would be the club for me. I initially hit 4 different irons without knowing what they were- the first 2 clubs I removed from my selection based on feel were surprisingly the 770 and the forged. This really suprised me. I was left with the P7MC and the JPX921 Tour. I eventually picked the JPX921 Tour as my number 1 choice. I was then given another club to try by my fitter which really through a spanner in the works, the Srixon ZX7. I now have them both so i can hit some shots off of the turf at the practice ground...... I'll let you know how i get on!
@@GolfmagicPlus Well I've just hit 30 balls with each club and there is very little between them, although I'm probably swaying towards the Srixon for 2 main reasons. Firstly the ZX7 went on average about 5 yds further(I know the loft is stronger on the Srixon by 1 degree I think, so this may account for the distance) and secondly the dispersion was slightly tighter. Ball flights were almost identical. i would say I think the tour had the edge on feel. For your information I had the nippon NS Pro 950GH neo Stiff in the Srixon and the KBS Tour c-taper lite Stiff in the Mizuno. So now I'll have to wait until after lockdown to continue my club fitting.
@@jonashley5436 Very interesting! I think the shaft difference was definitely what did it for me in terms of feel, but as you mentioned not too much in it is there. Good luck with the rest of your club fitting, let us know how it goes.
Recently went for a fitting at Precision Golf...went in thinking T100s, P770, JPX...never even knew Srixon had a new iron...well...all i can say is my dispersion was pure and utter filth...we’re talking “tight as a tiger” filth...launch, ball speed, spin...all tight. P770 was a very close 2nd but slightly higher ball flight and more spin and i like to see a lower, punchier flight...absolutely gob smacked with the zx7 performance and gagging for them to be built and get on course
@@GolfmagicPlus can you comment on the playing length of the Srixon ZX7 vs the 921 Tours? More specifically in hand vs. Reported specs online? Are they the same length?
I think so! They are players irons but do have some level of forgiveness, but not as much as let's say the TaylorMade P790's. As long as you know what you're getting into it's fine.
Im about to buy New irons. Playing Mizuno MP59 with 7 hcp and the feeling is important. Tryed New mp 20 mmc, hmb, Taylormade 770., Titleist T100 Wilson D7 forged, Pingbrandd, Callaway apex pro (nice) and Srixon. Your Word about Srixon is almost exact the same about the look and i was stunned about the feel, and distance. Also the consistance!! Great feel. Wilson d7 also impressed me and the new Mizuno did not exept the look. The new Wilson staff cb looks interessting and must have a try before i deside. So now i have a hard time to choose but Srixon is probably my New brand!!
Hmmm.......I'm an MP59 player too......what you say is very interesting..... I'm thinking about replacing my old friends but haven't tried any new clubs. Srixons look nice but my local stores in Canada don't have them yet. So I'm waiting until they come in before trying any
I tested both these in a 7 iron alongside the p7mc and p770 on the course for six consecutive rounds. In graphite shafts. The p7mc felt great like my previous p760s. I have previously had srixons z585 so wanted to like the srixons but must say unlike you it came in second last for me with the mizuno giving me the best flight and accuracy - because just sent of the shaft I had I think. That being said nothing has compared to the pxg gen 3 X in feel, distance and dispersion. Hope that the apex pro cf21 becomes an option f r me to consider over all of the above.
Nothing feels like a Mizuno…except the Srixon ZX7!
Great review. Would like to see the ZX7 put up against the TM P7MC
Man, I agree with this review on every count. The ZX7 DO feel softer. The JPX Tour have always had a firmer feel - for a Mizzy.

Nice review. Please can you compare the hacker’s venison of these two clubs, namely the Mizuno JPX 921 Forged vs Srixon ZX5. Thanks!
Brooks Koepka would agree. Last week won on tour and dropped the Mizuno and put the Srixon ZX7 in his bag.

great video, get down straight to the key points and comments, love the comparison exactly what i was looking for. thanks
Just purchased a set of Srixon ZX7’s today
You won't be disappointed! Unbelievable irons.
I believe the ZX7 is Endo forged ?
true
The Srixon head seems to be optimized for the Modus shaft, so it certainly simplifies the buying decisions.
I'm getting a set with stiff dynamic gold shafts. Hope they match up alright

Great review, if possible would like to see ZX5 vs. JPX 921 HM Pro.
Great review!
If possible can you do another video with these two and compare the wedges and long irons also

i know I am pretty off topic but does anybody know of a good website to watch new series online?
@Evan Kabir Flixportal
@Payton Rohan Thank you, I signed up and it seems to work =) I really appreciate it!
@Evan Kabir You are welcome :D
Would the zx7 be closer to MP20 MMC? I’d love to see that comp.
The ZX7 look better to me looking down at them, the Mizuno look better in bag but are bit more offset with a closed looking face.
Good review , both great looking clubs.

Are they the same length?
I’m currently looking at the ZX7 irons as an 11 handicap. Are these irons appropriate for my handicap?

Srixon have shot themselves in the foot with their late release of Z5 and Z7 , folk have been testing and buying JPX921s for months
There will be others testing and buying z5 and 7 for months to come...
There ya go. I was the 100th like
